Corona Virus Concerns

It is always possible that a caravan on the road could be being delivered to an NHS facility by a dealer for staff to use during the emergency. This has happen in a number of places. In order to avoid any confusion its always best to include a link to a news organisation.

See Brue's post. We SW folk possibly have more info than those of you in the rest of the country. Why not accept that?

And you folk had the info from the get go? No. Typical of some on here the original poster on the subject simply jumped to a conclusion. Doubtless thought it was a holiday maker or similar rather than thieves. My original comment with regards to jumping to conclusions stand.

I expected no other ☹️

To be honest, I think it's you who have jumped to conclusions, Alan. I can't see anything in what I assume you mean the original post suggesting it was a holiday maker? The word "moron" isn't synonymous with that is it?
Your "doubtless thought" comment is either a bit of sublime mind reading or jumping to a conclusion itself surely?

Yes we did have the info from the get go. On local BBC news, caravans travelling in convoy etc. So yes believed to be travellers. Thanks to Brue and TW who obviously also heard our local news. With all the details! I won't post on this again as not prepared to keep discussing this or be petty at such a bad time as this.

Smart comment, but it changes my view not at all. I said 'Doubtless thought it was a holiday maker or similar' to make it clear that such was purely my assumption. 'Doubtless' in this usage does not truly mean 'without doubt' as it is purely a turn of phrase as I suspect that you fully realise. All from me for now

Alan we don't need a Perry Mason type court case.
Please accept that we are very jittery about visitors to the SW just now. The UK is about to peak with covid19 over the next two weeks so any new arrivals to this area are a cause of extra concern. Stay at home, stay safe.

Out for a bike ride today stopped at beautiful Pont Creek only to see people sitting out ‘sunbathing’ in the garden of a holiday cottage.
Whatever the details of the M5 incident people are still travelling to holiday areas.

My concerns are different and purely family based.
My daughter is a hospital doctor in Birmingham where the numbers of Covid cases are rocketing. She's a consultant radiologist, normally examining and reporting complex MRI scans, but today has done a 12 hour shift doing plain x rays of patients with Covid infected lungs - and says that the scary thing is how many of them were young and probably didn't accept that social distancing included them.
So she has spent 12 hours today with those badly infected patients. They had masks and so did she. Let's hope masks work. She has another 12 hours tomorrow.

I read on the BBC website, following on from a plan to get the Passport Offices back to work, that a Home Office minister opined that 80% will get Coronavirus. If correct that will be about 50 million and with a generally accepted mortality of around 2%, we could be looking at a million dead from this thing. Europe took many years to recover from the Black Death. The World as we know it isn't going to be the same for some considerable time.

Mollysmummy Eurotraveller and everyone else on here that has family serving us at this awful time be they medics, shopworkers, delivery drivers, rubbish collectors etc and all who are keeping us 'ticking over' in these unprecendented weeks/months hopefully not years 😯.
THANK YOU ALL it's very unlikely you will never have sufficient money reward but you'll always have the knowledge that you rose to the challenge to serve when the time came and you did your best. No one can ask for nor be given more than that. Thank you once again on behalf of me and my family. 👏👏👏👏
Stay as safe as you can.

+1, I think the amount of lost lives the UK has suffered would have been much more without lockdown👍🏻

Phone call from GP Surgery this morning.'We need to do a blood test. We'll come to you to do it next week'.
My arm's not 2 metres long, especially from the elbow down, and I don't fancy the Nurse doing a 'On the ocky, aiming for the bullseye' a la Sid Waddell manoeuvre ...
Face masks to the fore
There's a 'good news, bad news' joke in there somewhere, but at least it won't be the one that ends 'we got £1.50 for your slippers'

+1, same here👍🏻. They’ve made it darn nigh impossible to even drop off a prescription at the Docs but said they want me to get in for a blood test. I declined, I accept full responsibility & told them that.

Just been on our local news. A Drs surgery is using an empty Costa drive through to give blood tests. Patient drives up, masked up nurse leans forward from window, to patients arm, which is presented through the car window. Appears to be working.

After reading about the idiots in Morecambe who licked their hands and then handled fruit, veg and door handles in Sainsburys isn't time to bring back the stocks? Pity the answer is going to be No though.
All of that Fruit and Veg gone to waste when it could have used for a better end. I bag the Butternut Squash.
