Member Offer: My Esso Card

Just to update. It now seems that nine people on this discussion have noticed that the PIN and 75% of the code on the front of their cards coincide. No-one has reported that there is no coincidence. So to be clear, we are talking about the three digit number printed below the CAMC identifier on the new card issued this week: has anyone got a number that does not correspond to the final three digits of their PIN? I'm awaiting a callback from CAMC on this so all information would be really helpful. Thank you.

Just checked my new card and lo and behold, it also matches 3 digits of my pin ! Worse still they are in the same order. My old card had my name printed on it too but the new one doesn't.
I had no trouble using old card (twice) and have been billed correctly on those purchases, but might wait a while before attempting to use this one!

I've had agency cards. Most had the registration number on them, and could only be used with that vehicle. A few had my name on, and could only be used by me.
These cards have neither. And seem to have three of the four digits of the PIN embossed on the front of the card.
The Ts&Cs do not seem to place a limit on liability, even after the card is reported missing/stolen.

Received my card to day and apart from a large blob of glue stuck to the silver strip on the back everything is fine .
My name is not on the front but there is also no reference to my PIN number or any way it can be worked out.
My PIN number was given to me when I logged onto the pump-king web site.
I have signed the back but can’t remember anyone ever looking there recently

Received my card today but still awaiting the reply back to my email from the end of January!
I can't say if the pin partly matches the number embossed on the card as I now have no intention of activating it.
If it's of any help, the "Return Address" for Pump King is printed along the bottom front of the envelope containing the card.

My new card has just arrived. I have activated it - just for fun. The numbers in PIN that was generated are ALL contained in the embossed number on the card bottom left. OK there are more than 4 numbers but this is silly - off to the plastic shredder with you my friend!

agency cards i have had, never had vehichle reg on them as i used to drive lots of different vehicles, the esso card has a vehicle reg associated with it and i have been asked for reg when filling up, however, sometimes it has been my OH car, in most svc stations the till person cannot see which vehicle you are in and would never check the reg, so think this is a bit of red herring, and i think the T&C's say it can be used with any vehicle.
I dont think the name being on the card is of any significance, ok if you lost it and it was handed in to say the police it might help identify the card with you, but otherwise another red herring.
seem to have three of the four digits of the PIN embossed on the front of the card.
yes this is a bit silly, but it would take 8 attempts to guess the first digit, think person on till might suspect something fishy, but to get the first digit is doable.
I guess for me we are 95% towards having something half decent, i guess the moto is "dont loose your card"
I probably shouldnt say this, I have never been scammed, and i have lost count as to how many outlets have my credit card details including this club, but never say never

From how other members describe the card, I do not think it will be manufactured by PunpKink themselves. It will be produced, printed, encoded and posted out by a company equiped to make these cards. Een banks and credit card companies in the main don't stamp out their own cards. Hence part at least of the delay in getting a card.
The envelope address will probably be the actual card mill.

I've got my card but I see the Pump King prices are 1p dearer than the local Esso prices which are 5p more expensive than the local supermarkets, so I will probably never use it unless I'm desperate for fuel and no where near a supermarket.

ROTFL! This has been a disaster from day one and still no prize draw like was promised to those that joined before end of December. Double dipping, cards being declined, no communication from Pump-KIng etc. Obviously the CC never did any background checks on this company, but took them onboard anyway.
Plus every 2 weeks the T&Cs are changed yet no one is notified about the changes and you congratulate the CC??????????????
However I have got my new card with new PIN so lets see what transpires over the next few weeks and hope it is for the best and all issues are now in the past.

Despite an email saying my card has been despatched which came to my inbox on Saturday, here we are at Friday, and still no card. Pretty poor service, hope when the card eventually comes it works, I always use premium diesel so can't benefit from supermarket prices, (they don't stock it).

you wont be so SMUG when there are thousands of us with Esso Cards in our wallets saving a fortune, I see Shell in our area have put regular diesel up to £1.30, not sure re Asda, but not wanting to get into another debate re supermarket fuel my OH no motor head, knows when i put in New Gate lane Asda fuel in her Kia Carens, she claims MPG is much worse than Shell, dont put supermarket fuel in my Kia Sorento. Just a thought.

given up on mine, and still no mention of the prize draw. Still very angry at the way this promotion has been handled and the club should be hanging their heads in shame even though from day 1 i have had a card that works. Not tried new card as yet, normally have normal debit card with me so not total embarresment if Esso card is rejected.

I see the club members offer page no longer refers to the card as MyEssoCard, but rather as the Pump King card.
A number of members I've spoken with believed they were contracting with Esso, and Pump King was simply some payment intermediary. So this improved clarity is probably a good thing.
And so much for the club's repeated assurance that the myessocard website was simply down for maintenance!
