Certainly  not  even  "Himself's"  new  motorhome  would  stand  a  chance  if  he  grounded  it  on  some  of  those  hills

wow this excietment never happens on any site I go tosmile

But Kathryn is your van 6m from your neigbours, and any part of your outfit 3m from your neigbours? If so what are you worrying about?

Is there a clear 6m/3m separation from those units to an 'ordinary' camper pitch? In fact how far are they away from one of 'us'?

Those trailers are parked together yes, but if one catches fire then that's their lookout isn't it?

Bottom of page four now and I'm the first to mention the huge site fees involved and that EG are making far more money out of this part of the site in a couple of weeks than the whole site makes in a couple of years.  Now we know how they are funding the current site purchase scheme!

Are they using the site toilets and chemical waste point?

This is what it can look like if you find yourself amongst a film crew. On our visit to Sumburgh in Shetland we were in with the film crew of the "Shetland" series. This was just in a car park, you can see our van somewhere but it would be quite disruptive on a site if you wanted a quiet break. These are only partial views.

My thoughts, too, Nav. They’ll be paying handsomely for use of EHU and facilities.

If you see any dragons or white walkers around, please keep schtum, I hate spoilers! smile

Off topic, (sort of), we once used same horse transport firm as Mel Gibson doing Braveheart. Box owner didn't rate Mr Gibson highly, a rude four letter word was used to describe him! (No not that one......it began with T!)surprised

Seriously, I would love it. Film crews were all over NY Moors last month,  lots of different things being filmed. Didn't get to see Colin Firth though......frown

Would one have to use the dog walk to exercise one's pet if it was a crocodile?

I wouldn't worry, perhaps some campers will be offered parts as "Extras". The pay's not bad and you don't have much to do, so the extra income could pay for your site nights.

    wink

Clearly the film company have struck a commercial deal with camc and rules will not apply... what a non story. I would have thought it would bring some excitement into the stay at the sites

lol, actually it sounds just like CAMC sites:

The Fast and the Furious (also known as Fast & Furious) is an American franchise based on a series of action films that is largely concerned with illegal street racing, heists and espionage

Has to be a dog in the films somewhere

Just to let you know I am not the only member  who was less than thrilled about this. The wardens themselves are apparently unhappy. Joking apart  I'm sure no one on here would be laughing if their pride and joy had been destroyed by fire because the club suddenly abandoned their usual adherence to their own Bylaws of minimum distance between units. Nor would they have been thrilled if their insurance failed to pay out citing this loophole.

These regulations are there to protect us. Seriously, look at what happened at Grenfell Tower to see what flagrant flouting of regulations can do.

Comparing  your complaint to the Grenfell Tower distaster... WOW frown

how far exactly is your unit from this posse of filmmakers’ vehicles?

As for insurers not paying out, unit spacing on CAMC sites isn’t set in law, it’s only advised by industry groups and H&S/fire safety experts and as such, will be a requirement for the Clubs own liability cover. An insurer can’t use a club bye law to get out of a settlement.

Are these units within 6m of you, Kathryn? If not, why are you concerned. If they are within 6m then complain to Head Office and MOVE.

I find your likening this situation to Grenfell Tower to be in poor taste.

    +1

To help us out Kathryn could you tell you where the trucks are on the site plan? Then we can see how close they are to other pitches and what the true risk is?

Val, if I wasn’t happy I’d leave the site and complain like hell to the club. If the OP is content to stay, things can’t be too bad.

As far as we can tell, the units are well away from her and, therefore, the spacing need be of no direct concern.

I think Kathryn j10’s question and concern is very valid .thank you Kathryn .

The thing is peeps you can’t insure against a corporate manslaughter claim . The film crew management may have indemnity and insurance to park as close ..........but if something goes wrong and somebody /anybody ,film crew lorry driver, cans Mc member on hollibobs.

I would still be very concerned the club (assuming owner) could be held liable .

I can picture the scene in court ........so mr warden you have rules ? But in this case you didn’t stop it happening ?........ Head office said what mr warden ?    So back to the first question mr warden what are the rules for ? Presumedly for preservation of life’s and property ???

A very difficult day ,week, month or years . Looking at the relatives left behind .........................

i’m not A party pooper in any way but just know when accidents happen ,and people get hurt . People get blamed ...... and not doing the right thing is difficult to defend .
