Lovely photos brue. We were only saying recently that we should go to NT Stourhead. Looks like you had good weather as well.
Enjoy York KjNN. We stayed at Beechwood Grange a few years ago as we couldn't get in at Rowntree Park. We used the nearby Park and Ride to get into York which was very convenient.
Enjoy Northumberland RedKite. It is a beautiful part of the country.

And there weren't any at Milford Haven yesterday either!

That's a shame Kjell, it was lovely in York yesterday, warm and sunny. There's a good food and drink festival on in city centre at the moment, lots of street stalls and covered dining areas.

Rain stopped just after midday and even some sun appeared. We are at the designer outlet meantime, a little shopping and lunch of fish and chips.
Tomorrow we hope to go to Beningborough, but will depend on the weather.
It was lovely when we arrived here yesterday, quite warm too, so not all bad.

If the weather is poor, the National Railway Museum is an absolute gem of a visit. Free, all indoors, lots to see and a great shop for memorabilia. Enjoy your stay

I had a lovely champagne afternoon tea earlier in the year in the Countess of York carriage at the museum....yes, it was worth a visit just for that!
special anniversary treat
Hope you enjoy your visit to the York area KJ, you have certainly covered some ground on your recent travels.

The museum might be free but the cost of parking is exorbitant!! Best way to get there is by bus.

We didn't see any otters at Stackpole Estate today. However we did see a Kingfisher.

Only 3 nights here, so not a lot of time for sightseeing this time, but we have been here at least 7 times in the last 45 years, and 5 visits to Beechwood, one time we were here for 10 days.
Railway Museum is one of our favourites, these days we always use the P&R from Monks Cross, much less hassle than driving into the city.

Really warm day yesterday at Riom, just had a lazy day doing not a lot of anything. OH helped a brit couple set up their satellite dish, seems they have been carrying it around with them but couldn't get a signal. Very happy wife as she watched her soaps.
Wet start to today but light rain only as we set off for Tours. Decided on a mix of tolls and non tolls, arrived at Montlouis-sur-Loire at 14.-10, we had decided to try a different site this time but when we arrived they were still closed for lunch so we are now at Les Acacias, the traffic noise is really bad on the road going along the back of the site. When we were last here it was (Nov) there was roadworks further up so the road was closed to all but local traffic. Thankfully its only for 1 night, hopefully it will quieten down later on.
The sun has been out most of the afternoon which was still nice and warm to sit out, its clouded over now.
In the last few minutes all the Brits have started to arrive on site, seems to be quite popular despite the road noise.
Tomorrow we are off to Neufchatel and Camping St Clair, phoned ahead and reserved a pitch as we know how popular the site is.
Had a call from my sister yesterday to say Mum got a place in the carehome we were after moving her to. When we left on this trip she was 3rd on the list, she moves in on Tuesday

So pleased to hear that your Mum has a place in the care home that you and your sister wanted. You must be very relieved. It is a sobering thought though that when you went away she was 3rd on the list and now she is moving in. I hope she copes well with the move.

Thanks, I know what you mean. Although I believe at least 1 of the residents moved to nursing care. Was hoping to be home before Mum moved but my sister just wants to get her settled as soon as she can, not sure how Mum will cope with the move, although she did go for a visit and seemed to like it.

Good luck to your mum Tammy. Difficult times but at least you have your sister on hand. We had to dash back from France a few years ago when MIL was informed that FIL HAD to go into a home within the week, giving notice that included a bank holiday as well. We were very lucky in finding a great place that looked after him.
Your post about Montlouis brought back memories, unfortunately not great ones as Mrs.WN had a bad bout of food poisoning whilst staying at that site many years ago. Not their fault as food bought from Saumur but she still won't go back to the site!

Interesting visit to Beningbrough today, weather mostly good.
We met a couple from CT who had recognised me from my photo.....OH says it is the eyebrows! Second time I have been recognised on this trip, plus someone recognised me at our dealer last year. OH says I should ge a new avatar!
Stopped off on the way back to fill fuel for our move tomorow......5ppl cheaper here than in St Neots.
Next stop is 4 nights at Meathop befoe we return home.

A nearly pointless day. Went to Picton Castle with the intention of taking one of the house tours, in particular to see the Rembrandt that was featured on the Fake or Fortune programme a couple of weeks ago. However it turned out that there were no house tours today due to a special event going on. We did manage a walk round the gardens which are quite extensive so at least we did get some exercise, so not totally pointless.
