Our council spent quite a large sum of money on a pointless exersize to move all the dog bins from where they were in places that were appropriate for dog users,to near where they could be emptied more easerly (health and safety)by the contractors staff, only to now have the truck being driven round the the fields past where they used to be emptied, and the council now wonder why there are more poo bags in areas away from the "new"wrong  bin positionsyell

Noticed on our travels today that the trees are starting to turn a good colour, nice to see Autumn start well, maybe it will be a good year for tree colours? smile

We remarked on the changing colours of the trees yesterday whilst driving to my mum's.  Hopefully it will be very pretty, but today I repeated the journey - don't ask! and it was dreary so they didn't look so pretty as they did in the sun yesterday, it was more like November.  I do hope we get a bit of an indian summer otherwise its going to be a very long winter.

Awaiting for a quote for a new burglar alarm.  Our DIY one had some maintenance  a couple of weeks ago, new batteries and a new keypad but when we went away last Tuesday it wouldn't set so I've decided we'll have a 'man' in.  Amazed he was able to call in today as he was doing quotes anyway and had to collect his children from nearby.

Otherwise I really haven't done/achieved much if anything at all.........

Grey drizzle all day here today so pointless doing any outside jobs. Mr H took all the garden rubbish and some old pots etc. from his greenhouse autumn clear out to the tip and I have 'blitzed' the house.

I'm just grateful that my wheat problem doesn't extend to Barley or Oats so can still enjoy some brewers who leave wheat out of certain drinks.

Had to have another one today to make sure it was okay. Must admit that the Eels Foot keep theirs at a temperature I prefer, that is not too cold just cool.

And for something completely different I did my birthday present DNA test today, now it goes off to Houston, Texas and who knows I might be related to an ancient tribe of mountain gorillas....I'll have to wait a month to find out. laughing

How exciting brue, do let us know. I would love to do a DNA test. I will have to drop a few hints to the family for a Christmas or birthday present. Was it a voucher that you were given?

Last day today on the med coast and what a beauty it was, the warmest we've had so far, typical. Starting to head north in the morning couple of days at Clermont Ferrand next stop.

Lovely weather today in East Norfolk albeit a very busy day, 2 more fence panels painted, delivery of logs, moved and stored about 1.5 tons.  Had car serviced and owner showed me the air filter which didn't look as if it had been changed for about 3 years, does make me wonder which may be pointless.

The Brues were up early today. OH had a 7.30 am appointment at the dentist to sort out his missing tooth which had disappeared into his stomach along with a crunchy biscuit earlier in the week. A new tooth is being attached to the plate which originally had to be made due to visiting dog jumping up enthusiastically whilst OH was enjoying a quiet mug of tea. The saga seems never ending. Our dentist is only working a few short early morning hours due to the onset of arthritis in his hands, he has my sympathy being a fellow sufferer. OH said the dentist was quite cheerful at such an early hour but the assistants looked a bit bleary eyed. wink

Have a good day one and all.

Been retired 6 years today and the time has gone in a flash and just as busy as ever.  Just doing an Autumn clear up in the garden.  Still picking raspberries and runner beans from the garden.  The beans have been fantastic been picking from mid July and will continue to about the middle of October.laughing

New reclining chair delivered and old one taken to the dump.

I hope your OH gets his tooth/teeth saga sorted out soon brue.  Had to laugh as Mr H lost his plate with 2 false teeth on a beach on the IOW many years ago while playing with the children.  I have often wondered if anyone ever found it and what their reaction was. laughing

After 2 nights at C&CC Salisbury, we are now at C&CC St Neots, both very nice.

On both, MHs seem to be in  the  majority, and there are surprisingly few dogs, though there must have been a few badly behaved dog owners at Salisbury as there was a "to whom it may concern" notice on each toilet block door complaining about the lack of picking up, and about dogs not being exercised in the designated area.

So the "Friendly" club has problematic dogs ad owners, must be dual members. Back to the thread, just finished decorating lounge and SWMBO is sorting out caravan ready for our trip up to Chatsworth on the weekend for a few days. (No problem booking either)

Millie you asked about the kit I used which came from a company called myheritage, don't know whether it will be any good or even accurate but it was a surprise birthday pressie and I hope it will be ok....the family are awaiting the results with glee. I shall blame the milkman. wink

Hope you don't catch all the rain that we've had in Wales, Kjell, or you'll have to abandon the site due to flooding. We liked St. Neots when we stopped there a while ago. We drove to the nearest Park & Ride to catch the bus into Cambridge.

I've had a lovely morning at NT Stourhead, nearly picture perfect in the early Autumn weather. I just had my phone so the photos are not my best. The colours will soon be spectacular.

No flooding, but quite a bit of rain overnight so the ground was rather wet, fortunately we had a decent hardstanding.

Good run up to York Beechwood this morning, where we now have sunny weather..

Site quite busy so the bronze rated wifi is struggling, but at least we managed to get connected.

Only one more site, in the south Lakes, before we are home in 7 days time.
