We're up to our eyes in packing removal boxes, the sound of packing tape fills the air. Our son has till Friday to get it all done, he won't be here next week when it all goes into storage so the pressure is on slightly. wink This has reminded us about the not so good pleasures of moving house, aching backs being one of them! It will seem really strange to see what our home looks like without the contents of another home taking up every available space....

Well that's 3 days we've been back in this country and we haven't stopped yet.

Good short drive up from Portsmouth to Salisbury, staying on the C&CC site at Old Sarum. Nice site, they have added lots of new gravel H/S pitches. Could do with better doors and heating on the facilities block though, no double door to stop heating escaping and the door has louvres so what little heat that is being generated, goes straight out the door, what a waste.

Took eldest granddaughter into Salisbury yesterday, although they have lived here for 4 years she has never been to the Cathedral. Then today we went to Longleat for the day, good day had by all but its not cheap.

Tomorrow we are heading up to Derbyshire, staying at the C&CC site at Conkers, then up at the weekend to Penistone to see other son and family before finally heading home.

We've had a good couple of months away with the new caravan, all well and enjoying it. Time to head home and sort the garden out and finish the jobs left over from the summer that we didn't get round to.

It's been a beautiful day on the moors today. We did a circular walk from the site to Falling Foss and May Beck.  The trees were looking lovely in the sunshine . ☺ We also went to Whitby Abbey and then walked down the steps which was the easy bit,  coming back up was so much harder 😄 The church at the top had a display of silk poppies hanging from the tower.

Cariadon and Tammygirl glad you both have enjoyed your trips.

Millie we like the beach at Sandsend,  it was great when the children were younger,  they loved paddling the dinghy in the shallow water of the stream that ran over the beach to the sea.

Good drive up to Conkers this morning, weather was good best we've had since we came back.

Arrived at 13.30 all set up and sat outside having lunch by 14.00 smile then washing done and on the line drying, front of van washed off (mud) bikes taken off car and set up ready to use. Short bike ride 5 miles then back to van by 16.30 getting a bit chilly. Sun now very low in the sky with wonderful rays coming through a gap in the clouds.

Tomorrow we are going to the National Arboretum, OH been wanting to go for awhile, so as its meant to be another dry day we are going. Was thinking about the caravan show but decided to give it a miss.

AD, good luck with the new caravan. We are enjoying ours.

    K***kered!!

Day spent sorting out an area in the garden. Couple of old tree stumps had to be removed then the area levelled, covered in sheeting and gravelled plus loads of other gardening chores. Aching all over but worth it as day was a beauty.

Well today is our last day in the North Yorkshire Moors 😢we move on tomorrow.  had a late start to the day as we overslept 😶. Weather has been fabulous after a chilly start. Went to Sleights for some bread from Bothams and back via Ruswarp and the butcher's. They sell pork and Marmite sausages!!! 😲

Relaxed on site and had lunch in the sunshine. This afternoon we had a last walk along the beach and along the pier then Fish and chips for tea ☺

Found a pub that sells a rather good pint of Adnams and has free WiFi so that's us sorted for a while. 😉😂

Good job done, I think. Time for a large glass of something to ease away the stiffness, I suspect.

Sounds like a restful day, H&T. Have a safe tow tomorrow, wherever you're heading.

We move on up today from near Redruth to near Liskeard. Bit of a mixup, on my part, as I thought we'd driven down the wrong lane, so pull up into a field of sheep to check....were on the correct lane as it was....so just pulled out again and were on site in a minute or so. All safely set up and even managed a hour sat outside in the sun after a walk along the road from the site.

Lovely weather here today and forecast again for he next few days laughing.

JVB we went to a talk by the Woodland Trust on Tuesday evening.  It is quite frightening how much ancient woodland we are losing.

Safe travelling both Helen and Trevor and Tammygirl.

We are very lucky here as when this "Garden City" was designed one of the basic requirements was to keep as much of the original estates woodland ,as our ancient trees show, has been kept, and we can (if we feel energetic) actually walk from about 200yds from our house into the town all through ancient woodland, just over a mile,t hen come back on the bus via a road that would not be there if a stray stick of bombs we think were either targeting the De Havalland aircraft factory at Hatfield or the Railway viaduct on the East Coast main line had not hit and destroyed some houses that had been built on the edge of the woodssurprised

You are very lucky JVB as we are here in Peterborough.  As you have seen we have lots of trees along all the parkways planted by Peterborough Development corporation when the new townships were built - not ancient trees but beautiful trees nevertheless.

Yes as you know our favorite "bolt hole" we also have the legal requirement that any tree that has to be felled for any reason within the borough it has to be replaced by mostly a similar type

When we moved to Milton Keynes we were given a tree voucher by the Development Corporation. I also noticed that the new house one of my sons moved into about a year ago had a tree planted in the garden. Unfortunately housing developments now have a far higher density than when we move here 40 years ago but they are still trying to keep up with the planting of trees and shrubs.

Councils are guilty of felling ‘Town & City’ Trees at an increasing rate under the guise of safety too☹️. They are doing it to reduce ongoing costs of maintenance for the future. Sad state of affairs is this Country’s attitude to the Sylvan World.

A quick look in before our electricity goes off for the day. We saw Pam Ayres at our local theatre last night, amusing and entertaining as ever. A lot of laughter in the audience, she is such a pro. smile

R2B I asked the speaker on Tuesday evening whether they were involved with Sheffield Council over the felling of their tress.  Yes, they are heavily involved and trying hard to stop the destruction.  Sheffield Council are blaming Amey apparently.
