It has teemed with rain here all day today.  I felt so sorry for the poor souls taking art in the Great Eastern Run half marathon.  Our house is on the route and we usually go outside to cheer them on but decided to support them from indoors today.frown  Our daughter and grandson did the 3 mile fun run and got drenched. We took the opportunity to go and see The Museum of the Moon again this evening as it was illumined in pink and blue in honour of Baby Loss Awareness week. We lost a baby daughter 44 years ago.

Sorry I have been trying to attach a photo of The Moon illumined in pink and blue with obviously no success.

It's so unreliable on here Millie, sometimes things work as expected but then they don't. I expect the special week at the cathedral brought back some very mixed memories for you but at least it remembers all who have suffered the same sad loss.

We have had a busy two days, sorting things out for son and grandson, discussions with a removal company yesterday, packing boxes arriving tomorrow. New school shoes for grandson today, the third pair this year! We went to Clarks village so we got some at a better price than the main shops, it poured with rain all the time so we got soaked trailing round but had lunch out so at least no cooking.

I had a long early morning chat with my NZ cousin on the farm yesterday, she had a special offer £1.50 for an hours chat, so we had a big catch up. Our Mums were similar strong characters and since we've lost both now we could understand the strange gap in our lives.

Our old terrier has spotted something in the garden again tonight, no doubt the fox and badger are lurking somewhere. It's a dark old night out there and very damp.

Thanks David.  You dont *have to*, David, as far as I'm aware.  I have difficulty in sleeping on my back - I usually sleep on my side, but I did find it difficult in hospital.  I did the first night half in bed (sat pretty near uptight) and half in the chair.  The second night I just slept in the chair.  When I got home I have slept on my side ever since, but have found it easier to have one leg supported by a small cushion.

    Best wishes

    David

Lovely photo brue.  I can attach photos taken on my phone as I can easily resize them on there but I took the photos yesterday on my camera and although I can resize the photo it keeps trying to post it sideways on yell

Admin day today while Mrs One and daughter go shopping in Norwich.  First chore completed with deep clean of computer, 3.5 gig of rubbish sorted so speed has increased exponentially.  Completed setting Mrs One with her own account on our desk top.  Now for a ☕️

It's a mystery to me as I can now post photos from my new phone without resizing but the boat was from my PC and had to be resized. Still haven't checked the sizes on my phone but they didn't appear to be different.

In town just now, left husband to receive all the packing boxes and son is doing some recording work elsewhere.

I had to go up to our local surgery today for a routine blood test. So while I was there, and since the whole place seems to be emblazoned with flags encouraging one to get a flu jab, I thought I'd make an appointment. The reply was "oh, we're expecting a batch of vaccine in tomorrow. Can you ring the appointment line then".  Well, given our experience of ringing that appointment line, there's absolutely no incentive at all! yell

Fortunately, we've  a pharmacy at Sainsburys just along the road so I'll probably try there.

New TV aerial fitted today plus power booster to signal. Original aerial over a eleven years old and not in the best of condition when you saw it close up, on the ground I hasten to add!! We were having trouble getting some of the HD channels like BBC4 and BBC News HD, sometimes they would work and sometimes they won't. Hopefully all now OK. It wasn't that many years ago that we weren't allowed TV aerials on our roofs in MK as we had a cable system put in place as they built MK. Trouble was technology overtook the installed system so they had to relax the rules eventually.

We went for ours at are local surgery on Saturday at 9:00, after receiving a confirmation text the day before. Surgery was deserted, oh we rang everyone yesterday to say we had run out. They were not sure why we didn't get a phone call and received a confirmation text Rebooked for 1st November.😀

All was not wasted for me, as I had another appointment at 9:10 and they gave the OH a pneumococcal injection, which she now qualifies for.

Brue, tried to post an iphone photo direct and it said it was over 500k. I am sure your phone must be also. So can only assume it is reducing it somehow. How do you post photos on your phone? On mine, touching photo library takes me directly to that directory and any photos are extracted from there at what ever size they are.

First wifi signal I have had for a few days.   We survived storm Callum ,  although had unexpected guests Saturday night due to son and his girlfriends tent almost blowing away 😲 I had to admire their courage in trying camping in the storm!   Out and about walking from Esk Valley to Goathland today stopped off at what us supposed to be the smallest pub on the moors at Beck Hole. Just taking a break before the walk back. Will try and catch up as and when 😉

Sounds like you are all having a good time Helen, amazing the tent stayed put in that weather. smile

In reply to Steve, I've checked my phone for the photo measurement (it's an Android Blackview, I changed it recently) and it's coming in at 1024 x 768. On my old phone this would have prevented me from posting a photo on here and I had to go into export and edit to reduce the size. With the Blackview I just select a photo and away it goes. (a puzzlement unless someone knows better wink)

We visited Goathland last week while we were staying at York. We had a lovely meal in the Goathland Hotel (Aidensfield Arms). We moved on from York up to Berwick before the storm hit but it was still a bit blustery at Berwick especially as pitched at the Club site which is high up on a hill. Enjoy your break.

This picture is copied from my website and there it has a size of 1000x750 pixels and is about 250kb in size. The original straight from my camera (not phone) would have been both bigger in pixel and kb's. Previously we had to resize photos but it now seems the forum does that for us providing they are under 500kb's. I have never uploaded direct from my phone as I tend not to use it a lot for photographs, seems as I have to investigate how that works in posting photos here because they are too big to post in their original form.

Sounds like a good day out, H&T. Bet son and his girlfriend were glad that you were close by as a refuge from the storm.

We went to Trelissick today, the first time we'd been there. Had two good walks round the estate as well as visiting the house and gardens.

Just a quick catch up while  enjoying  a beer and free pub WiFi 😉

Weather brighter today so we had a wander round Robin Hoods Bay and then into Whitby. Enjoyed an ice cream although I had to fight off  a Gull who decided it looked tasty 😂 OH Bought me a Lovely Jet Owl pendant as an anniversary pressie. ☺  stocked up with a curd tart yummy!   Tide was out so we took a walk towards Sandsend on the beach,  before head in back to the van.

Blood test this morning. Then to car dealer to sort out a small problem with Mrs WN car, sorted, no charge.

Then gardening this afternoon. Off to take MIL to lunch tomorrow with Mrs WNs aunt to break up their hospital visiting. Have to give MIL some bad news as we had a phone call telling us a very good friend of hers passed away this morning. Raining and Pouring seems to spring to mind.

Busy day, catching up with gardening and housework after several weeks away over September and October. We spent a few weeks catching up with son and girlfriend in Brighton, and touring South East and South West of England. We were lucky to have such warm days to enjoy our days out.
Not sure when we will be away again, soon I hope, but cannot complain as we have had many days away already, hence why I haven't been on here much lately.
