On my dad's side there were 13 children over about 25 years, so my oldest cousin, who died recently was about 90, while the youngest is only about 50.
My brother's oldest is now 57, my daughter at 33 is the youngest in her generation.

My Dad was one of 8 children (sadly 3 of them died before adulthood as often happened in those days) He was 18 when his youngest brother was born and his eldest brother was 21. His youngest brother only died 2 years ago aged 88. At 74 I am the eldest of all my cousins. The youngest has just turned 50. (I am her God Mother). One of my friends from junior school was from a large and spread out family and was already an aunt when she was born! As youngsters we found it very confusing.

We have had a couple of big family reunions over the years, the latest in 2014. A lot of the youngsters were very confused as to who were actual cousins and who were one or even 2 generations away!
My nephew who is 50, has recently had a baby, his (second)wife is only 30. His baby is about 4 weeks older than our little grandson. And any day now his daughter is expecting her first baby.
His older sister, only 2 years older, has twin grandchildren who are now 8, same as our grand daughter.
I keep the family tree on a huge paper.....the only way to keep track of them all!

I also boosted my wife's bank account by paying her £1200 to add to her cash savings. It helps her status with the Home Office as they have very stringent financial rules for her visa and I need to meet their conditions from my own means. So she's over the moon now! She can't do enough for me. She deserves it! She does so much to help me, getting all the chores done and looking after the caravan and awning! I couldn't manage without her! Money doesn't just talk, it speaks volumes! Never underestimate the power of money! That's why I love working!
Sorry Jill but I did not actually mention the word aircon. I even said forgive me for trying to avoid mentioning it with due respect of it being a forbidden word? So I did follow your advice.

A coincidence Millie and KJ talking of family and ages, was at a barbecue yesterday of a friend celebrating her 50th birthday, her mothers 70th and her daughters 30th on the same day. We had a wonderful day, they had a marquee in the grounds and a local singer and comedian entertained us, We had a lovely time, talking about our younger days, and how different to the lifestyle of the youth of today.
Weather has been a lot cooler and overcast here over the weekend.
Hope the builders are coming to and end with you Brue, we have had the builder removing our chimney, glad when that is finished.

A beautiful morning again and hey we have blue sky which has been missing for last few days.
I've succumbed on 2 things, thanks to CT chat about using fans to move the air, I remembered we had one. I used it last night 😉. Not because the heat was the problem
but it was sultry. I need no replies or comments, just saying thanks for the memory jog - it sometimes takes a long time for the penny to drop 😂. This morning I have put the shade umbrella up to eat my breakfast under it 😲. We have lots of natural shade in the garden and we move around accordingly. Personally I like my head in the shade but body in the sun to get the vit D 😉 but our patio is sunny until very late afternoon, I'm having trouble trying to recall the last time the shade umbrella was used in anger 😉.Busy day yesterday sorting bits but managed time to chill too. Aunt visit wasn't too bad cut back some hibiscus shrubs that were over growing a communal path her grass seared up so no need to cut it, also has a huge intention by a manhole - collapsed drain? But grass not showing signs of moisture. Its a housing partnership property for the elderlt so not hers or our problem thankfully. OH ran the mower over our piebald grass and got and box off, I posted photo a few days ago will see if I can again.
This morning the green areas of our grass were very damp, assume dew?, but if it was dew the dried bits weren't damp any more. So I have to ask have we unknowingly created a micro climate? 😂😂😂😂
Had a good laugh at a leaflet through the door this morning offering a lawn renovation programme with the byline ' there's no lawn we can't save!' Quite a challenge in the present conditions 😂

Malcolm we are the only ones with green grass,it's far too rough to be called a lawn! Neighbours and friends just have brown seared up desert looking patches, we have bits in the first part but beyond the flower beds through the path it's brown like that all over. We don't water our garden, we did water when we grew veg, we'd been away for 3 weeks are were stunned to see it after where we'd been and looking at gardens generally- even Holkham Hall and Sandringham had brown grass 😂😂 and this is another week on. We've had no rain for at least 9 weeks maybe more I don't keep a note but maybe I should 😉

I have been wondering how various lawn renovation companies are doing at the moment. I must admit I haven't seen their vans out and about.
We woke up to see a hot air balloon over our garden this morning so gave them a wave. It is perfect conditions for it. It is very quiet round here this morning as the schools are on holiday and a lot of people seem to have gone away.1 -

Families are interesting things academically especially ages and generations. I've done mine both sides and OH uncle had his mothers side done with professional help when needed, hey came over with the Hugenots. Nothing exciting, happily or sadly in any of the findings. Can't sort his dad's out beyond 1 generation of his father because of illness and death splitting the family his dad moving to Scotland at 12. There were a half brother and half sister after a remarriage, but it seems there was some economy with the truth and they've all passed away now 😢.
I assumed my father's family came over with William the Conqueror, or the bustard depending on your view 😉, because of the surname. I got back to the 1500s but hard to fathom direct line, they lived in the same village for 500 years as labourers. My dad's family lived in the same rented property from new for 4 generations! But whilst a holkham Hall I discovered that the 2nd year antlers on a fallow dear are called Sorrell, my maiden name, so who knows?? More research if I get the time LOL.

The grass is still green outside our awning, Bakers2. Perhaps that's because it's sheltered by trees. Yes there are brown patches on this site as a whole but still some green grass too.
My wife's just woken up. She had a longer sleep than I did. So I've just taken my blood pressure tablet of Lercanidipine that needs to be taken between half an hour to one hour before eating. So breakfast in half an hours time!

Black clouds as far as the eye can see in North Devon, so we might just get some of the wet stuff. About right as the first real day of the school hols here. Also choc a block with holidaymakers. They say it will be okay for the rest of the week, well until Friday that is.

Overcast skies this morning after yesterdays lovely blue skies (late start) and very warm afternoon and evening. Quite blowy here this morning, rain forecast for later today again.
We are off to Glasgow in a wee while as OH has volunteered to take part in a 'memory clinic' trial, it would appear that I have to go too
not to take part as such but as his OH to assist still its a day out.Our garden is looking pretty good but the grass is awful, yellow where we have it and bare where we removed the moss and thatch, some has reseeded but other areas are still very poor and yet we have had rain.
OH was watching the golf from Carnoustie last night, the grass there was all brown first time I've seen that on a gold course, the' greens' were well 'green' but the fairways brown, its a links course so by the sea, you would think they would get moisture most of the night.

I wouldn't worry too much about the yellow grass, Tammygirl. Summer will soon be over and when Autumn and Winter come, the rain will come with it and you'll get your green grass back, as sure as eggs are eggs! Just enjoy the change whilst it lasts!

Mrs One, children and dogs all out for a long walk so I'm doing the chores and pottering. Lovely blue sky, warm but with a slight breeze.

That's one way of cooling off, Oneputt. However, my wife can't swim so won't go anywhere near the sea or a swimming pool which is why we have to use another means of keeping cool, which unfortunately and unkindly has been so strongly objected to on here. I'm sure it is lovely and cool in the sea or swimming pool! Your dogs certainly look very cool and comfortable in the picture you posted of them swimming!

Why jeopordise your access to the club web site? I always feel sorry for the families and spouses of people who are banned, suddenly booking holidays etc but becomes more difficult.
Maybe the Community Manager or a member of staff could respond to your constant challenges?
