My cousin employs a cleaner to do that and a gardener to do the gardens.

I've just drunk three mugs of tea following my afternoon nap, so starting to feel more awake in readiness for my evening shift. I'll need to leave here in 15 minutes and maybe use the sea front route again to get to work.

Not adverse to automatics, had a few in my time but I just like driving with manual gearboxes.

Decided to change the flywheel as well as the clutch, surprise, surprise Honda price the cheapest, considerably cheaper than the price Mitsubishi charged MM.

Strolling  round  a  couple  of  Rallies  this  w/end  I  saw  several  dogs,  from   Greyhounds  down,  wearing  coats  that  appeared  to  be  made  of  micro-fibre.  Apparently  they  are  soaked  in  water  and  the  evaporation  process  cools  the  dogs  down  quite  well.

This  is  the  same  principle  I  use  to  keep  my  insulin  cool,  but  in  my  case  its  good  for  a  couple  or  three  days  even  in  an uncooled,  unshaded  camper  parked  in  a  country  field  for  6 -- 8  hours.

We had a wander through the Funtasia Circus today as it's on the sea front park next to our rally, no animals in the show just feats of daring do. The show is 1 hour 45 mins, a bit long for me but they have scheduled the first performance before the football! I always like the sight of circus tents, this one is attractive when lit up at night.

We have an Agincourt feel on the site with all the county and now the England flags flying. laughing

Thoroughly enjoying the holiday Brue. Don't want it to end!  Loving the weather as well. Presently at the C&CC at Polstead near Ipswich. Lost 20 mins on the trip from Cantebury. Missed a turning off a roundabout. Carried on down the next road to find it was a bollarded off dead end with metal bollards on the kerb edge and road about 5m wide! You have to love motormovers. laughing

It gave passers by some interest.

We stayed at that Polstead site a couple of years back, but earlier in the year - a lovely spot - the bluebell woods just along the road were in full bloom. I think it was whire we were there that we visited Constable's Haywain scene at East Bergholt, would that be right? And Lavenham too? Very nice couple running the site, the wifi was "free" in return for donations to a local charity. We really must head that way again! smile

Us, too, but around 6 years ago. We also went to Flatford Mill - the Haywain.

The eaterie just up on the road to Hadleigh (Brewers Arms?) was excellent at that time.

It's usually way down mine as well Goldie, but things were getting a touch furry, and the spiders were complaining! And Mum is coming tomorrow, she leaves me messages in the dust!laughing

Bottom level all done a dusted now, upstairs has been hoovered, and will keep for another day. Downsizing will eventually be a delight!

EasyT & Moulesy  we are off to New Quay, with a stop over at Aberbran.

Enjoy Shrewsbury Moulesy,  we were at a nice CL near Pewsey a couple of weeks ago so we could visit Avebury.

The village itself is very pleasant. Interesting church, good local and a nice spot for a picnic beside the pond.

There is an interesting story about a murder which took place in the village, I think back in Victoria times and the house where the murderer lived can still be seen - my memory of it is a bit vague but if Bakers2 should read this maybe it'll become clearer!  wink

Hope everyone that's out and about enjoy their stays at their respective sites.

Sorry to hear about the problem with your car OP. Hope that it's not too expensive to repair.

Have a good trip to Wales, H&T. There's lots to see around the New Quay area. We like the Aberbran site, nice and quiet.

The Red Barn Murder is the notorius Polstead incident. If I remember correctly there is a notice or sign somewhere near the Church down by the lake.

Google it for further info. But it is not pleasant.

This to is one of my favourite sites in lovely countryside. There is a lovely walk to the pub on the Green, the site will have details.

Thanks for that Nellie.  Lizzie has been in the sea, but sometimes takes a lot of coaxing to get her in.  She's never in for too long, but unusually even got in far enough to swim for about 15 seconds at Long Rock, Penzance the other day - that was very much an exception!!.  She'll only generally go for a little paddle, and only if my wife goes in first.  You should see the two of them standing there!!  😀😀  Thanks for sharing the advice - hope folk will benefit from it.  I shall certainly bear it in mind next time she goes in the sea

Moved from Cornwall to Devon yesterday and are spending a little time at Ross Park near Newton Abbot.

We thought we'd visit Teignmouth today, but was diverted away from the coast because of the WW2 bomb they found near the pier.  Instead we went across the bridge to Shaldon, where fe found a nice little pub and sat overlooking Teignmouth watching the bomb being towed out to sea for its ultimate destruction.  Quite a crowd gathered and we were lead to believe it would be detonated at 4pm.  Then we were told 4.30pm.  We gave up watching at 5pm and then heard on the radio the the controlled detonation was carried out at just after 5.10pm.

.....We just had to get back for a BBQ.  😉😉

I appreciate that we are all different but I am surprised they are still making manual gearbox cars! Maybe I am lazy but I much prefer an automatic and for towing and solo I can see little advantage in having a manual gearbox especially if the auto has a tiptronic box. Obviously if they go wrong they are expensive to put right but fortunately I have not had that problem with my last four cars. Just reading a review of the Nissan Leaf EV which said that they don't have gears?

I agree David.  Since having an automatic, I wouldn't like to go back to manual.  After saying that, our small car (that Carol usually drives) is a manual.

Recently, we had cause to go to Cornwall and back in one day.  I decided to take the small car, being a more economic option.  I did stall the car a handful of times, just forgetting to change gear!!  The next day, back in the Discovery, I also went to change gear a few times too.  One of the hazards of having one of each. 😀

I have that problem too when switching from the Smart car to the Shogun. The Smart car is automatic whilst the Shogun is manual.

Grey start to the day with little drizzle here this morning.  Hopefully it will stay dry for the scout group BBQ on Thursday.  My plan was to power wash the car today. it splatter with dead insects, but that looks like a non starter.  On the bright side this drop in temperature and the drizzle seems to have encouraged the juvenile finches to the feeding station, its such a joy to see that the green finches seem to be making some sort of recoverysmile
