Nice morning here so I sat outside with the paper and a coffee. One visiting dog here as his musician "parents" have a busy weekend including the Last Post request at a remembrance service. The other visiting dog has gone with them as she is better away from our cat!

Good to hear you got your tickets TDA, such a popular person to see "live." I've been watching the " repeats of his repeats " on BBC 1. Hope you and your family are coping well with all the hospital visits

Thanks Brue. Thankfully we don’t live far from hospital, so Sis and I have been splitting the 11am-8pm visiting hours. We are helping with meals, company, keeping her stimulated during day. So short staffed some days, most in patients have someone there with them doing same. A way to go yet though…….

Tickets are a treat, really enjoy PK. Northern humour……🤣

Talking of developing photos, I have memories of our Dad developing films in the bathroom. He used to then peg them on a line over the bath to dry. My main memory is standing cross legged outside the bathroom when he did this waiting for him to finish, we only had one toilet.

Such a beautiful day today, warm and blue skies. We went to Charlecote, I had a long walk around the grounds, while OH found a seat in the sun. Never seen it so busy, overflow car park almost full. Some parts almost crowded. Nice coffee and even treated ourselves to a shared cream and jam scone, sitting in the sun. Think everyone was making the most of the lovely weather before winter sets in.

I mowed the lawn today. I don't think I have ever done that in mid November before. The grass seed I chucked about at the end of last month is all growing well, as are the dandilions.

Nature is a mixed up kid at the moment

Well odd day really WI Christmas Fair this morning, lunch with son and grandson, nice homemade pumpkin soup courtesy of absent, drilling next years crops, DIL.

Home when grandson off for sleep. Cut all 3 grass areas, a good basket full off each area. Got my washing in. OH tackled the wood nailed to wall under climbing hydrangea and spent time chiselling off the stems. We have a wire brush - but unable to locate it currently. Then applied the bands to stop winter moths getting into fruit trees.

Beautiful sunset, now about to have M&S pizza deal.😉 in front of TV. Probably watch more episodes of Cold Feet.

Trying not to be over bothered by rugby games 🥲🥲

Edit forget to mention lovely dog walk after womens rugby game, before rest of the day started!

Oh forgot to add last Saturday I saw a house, the first?,  in the village decorated for Christmas, including the tree in the window 😱.

I noticed the one on the 'main' road which raises money for the air ambulance had made a start today, but not turned on.

One family in our close have put up large, internally lit, Christmas Star Wars inflatables this afternoon. They're very different. But similar to the Star Wars Halloween ones which came down last Wednesday

I admit to buying some outside lights for our trees, but that was only because Aldi had 40m length LED's very reasonably priced. We've only ever lit our front window, but being in the corner of the cul de sac they wouldn't be seen. I was given to understand, back in the summer, that the close light up at Christmas.

Generally our Christmas decorations go up the weekend before Christmas, coming down on 12th night. This year it'll be a whole week before Christmas Day. Also need to think how we'll decorate in a different house after 36 years in the same one........ But it won't be contemplated for a few more weeks!

Sincere apologies for mentioning this all in November, we've not even got to 'stir up Sunday' yet!

Yes we are, just a couple of nights then going back to the coast, then into Portugal.

The town is like nowhere I've ever seen before. Went in this morning for a look around. Half a dozen  of coaches of people just arrived. We even had the privalge of seeing a couple getting married in the church. It was full to bursting what a great day for the couple. Arrived and departed in horse-drawn carriages.

The lake across from the church was all dried up not a drop to be seen, no birds or any other wildlife to be seen, so sad. Hope they get so rain soon.

Good to read you are still working hard at the physio.

A fine start to the day although it cooled down and clouded up in the afternoon. Hospital visit went well, being given the all clear and signed off. It took all of 30 mins, walking from home to getting back. Most important job this afternoon was giving Flyte a bath!!😀 Have now booked our X-mas/New Year site, and it's back to one of our most regularly visited CLs.

Good to read the the physio went well, WN.

Hope your OH is able to search you out a suitable wee car, tda,  there must be plenty of choice in your area, one would think. You did well getting the tickets to see Peter Kay, as the web site had crashed for a while.

TG, you have certainly had an interesting trip, are you away for many more weeks?

Didn't go to bed, DEBSC but  modified aged Sister's  card ( you just cannot buy one for 92 year olds with the actual age  grrr ) but got it to her in mid morning only to find her Grandson, his good lady and their two sons already there.  So quite a pleasant meeting until the two youngsters came to hug this old man. After hugs duly given they both laughed and ran off, only to come back in five seconds, each holding a collectiing box from school. They were collecting for children with various learning issues and pointed out they had heard a distinct rattle from my pockets and I actually had my car keys in my hand, so it couldn't be them now could it  laughing.  Howls of laughter from both their parents  and a rather sarky giggle from Sister Dear yell.  Never, ever go visiting with cash in yer pockets  !!!

My old boss in Somerset used to get all her cards and presents in Januaryas they were cheaper then. I posted UK cards this Tuesday and some arrived 2 days later excellent service as I was trying to avoid postal strikes in UK and I do not send many now.

LeClerc Hypermarket in Villefrance have their decorations up already a giant twinkly cone in the bottom of the car park and a small sleigh like decoration inside ready for father Christmas only 6 weeks to go, we will be having a very quiet xmas on our own this year and that suits us.

Finished my gardening yesterday and the garden almost ready for winter some mowing done around the house and strimming, used up 3 bags of bark chippings that I got early in the year as buy 2 get 1 free so raised bed looking a lot better and old plants removed and others from around the garden put in there plus some in pots so some pots to clean out tomorrow as having a day of not doing to much although have done washing with lovely warm sunshine and no bonfire across two fields today and OH sorting a old kitchen cupboard in his shed the back of it has moved and he cannot take the unit out heyho keeps him busy. Afternoon coffee and tea sat outside this afternoon I think.

November has arrived here. Foggy this morning, lifted a bit, typical Rememberence Sunday I recall from childhood. Bare trees, dripping noises and grey - befitting remembering really. So different to London, OH just flicked TV to Saracens v Northampton and I thought it was from the southern hemisphere 😀.

Very warm here can't remember any other November temperatures like this! Wondering when the fieldfares will turn up,  not their kind of weather at all. OH can get some more lawn mowing and leaf gathering done. We tipped out some old leaf sacks and the compost was a rich black colour, only a year to get like that so worth the effort.

Lunch guests gave decided to arrive at tea time so they'll have to warm their food up or take it away. That's enough time in the kitchen for me today! 🍽

Very warm here as well possibly about 22C so had a walk down the road towards the village as hunt down the other way and took some pictures of trees in Autumnal colouring lovely to see and surprised hardly anybody about in this lovely weather but all change tomorrow and looks like 2 weeks of rain but we do need it although we are no longer in the red for water restriction now yellow for alert but still some restrictions until end of this year.

Tree frog was perched on the down guttering am but now gone into hiding again such a strong green colour.

We have the same weather as Bakers2  - very grey, foggy and damp. A lights on all day sort of day. OH had hoped to run over the grass with the mower as it is very long and also to clear up the leaves but it is too wet for that.  I went out and sorted out the bird feeders and dead head the last of the dahlias and it was very muddy underfoot. I made the Christmas cake yesterday and today daughter, eldest grand-daughter and I have sorted out a day to go Christmas shopping at the end of the month. That is enough Christmas for me for now!

Our rescue cat is beginning to settle down and has, I think, decided she likes us and will stay here laughing

Good news about your biopsy nellie.

Pleased to hear that you managed to get tickets for Peter Kaye TDA. Hope your Mum is progressing well.

    It's beautiful milliehull. A boy?

We had a female ginger cat for 14 years, she had a litter of 6 before she was spayed 😱. 3 ginger, one of which we kept, and 3 tortoiseshell.  Which came out alternatively. All ginger were boys and tortoiseshell were girls.

Weather hardly cleared and as we did a late afternoon walk the mist was coming up on the fields.

Very glad I whizzed over the grass yesterday, it was wet but doable.

NTH, we have just over 2 weeks still left until the tunnel. Couldn't get much further away if we tried. We are almost on the border with Portugal today, found a nice aire overlooking the salinas (pink flamingos) then the Atlantic ocean just beyond that. Going out tomorrow on the bikes to explore. Really enjoying what we've been doing and been very lucky with the weather. Good to hear you have the all clear from the medics.

AD, didn't get on a tour of the park. Doesn't seem to be any at the moment, the place is even more dry than usual, the lake in town is bone dry. We did though today drive through the park on our way here. The roads are awful worst I can remember, big potholesand huge cracks in the tarmac, the rest is like driving over corrugated metal. I guess it's from all the heat they get.

As we are unable to get away in the van at the moment and the weather was Beautiful we decided to have a day out at NT. Cliveden. The house is a plush hotel and spa but the gardens, grounds and woodland can be walked around. Beautiful views down to the river Thames and lots of Red Kites with warning signs on the picnic tables. 😮

Lovely cat Millie, I had a ginger cat many years ago called Soldier as I picked him up on Remembrance Sunday, which of course is today.

    Few photos of our day.

We took two of our grandchildren to Cliveden when they were much younger. They spent the day pretending they owned the place. All the windows were open in the hotel facing onto the balcony, as we walked past our grandson playing shouted a little too loudly, ‘what are all those people doing in my house!’ We walked quickly on. Then I turned to find him leaning right over that parapet! He has grown up now but it was a memorable day.

Beautiful day in Stratford today, so warm and sunny, people sitting out in t-shirts. We packed the van up for winter today, not my favourite thing. And we have done it much earlier than usual this year. The car was packed to the gunnels. Now need to work my way through all the washing, goodness knows how I’ll get it all dry, looks like a wet week ahead.

Arrived home to find next door have put all their Christmas lights up in the front garden!

Lovely cat Millie. I still miss our old lady and it has been two years since she passed away. We go away too often to get another, but if ever we do it will be a full grown rescue, like our last one, I couldn’t manage a kitten. Would want a gentle loving one like our last one. Bless her she only had one eye, had been badly ill treated but was the most loving little soul.

Fine photos, Helen, looks like you had a good day out. It is not a place we have visited yet.

Enjoy the rest of your trip, TG.

Another fine day here, and I had the pleasant job of cleaning the guttering and barge boards.

Our little cat is a rescue female. They think she is about 3 years old. It sounds as though she has had a bit of a difficult journey before she came to us but she is very affectionate and loving. Our last 2 elderly cats died during lockdown DEBSC and we said that we wouldn't have any more but the house seemed so quiet and empty without a cat as we have always had at least one ever since we were married.

Lovely photos Helen. I have always rather fancied going to Cliveden.

It sounds as though some of you have had lovely weather this weekend. Unfortunately it has got even more foggy here since it got dark so I am glad we are not going out anywhere. It is quite chilly as well. No record breaking temperatures here!
