That looks wonderful brue. Enjoy the party. We dont have thunderstorms forecast for tomorrow but we are told to expect heavy rain ☹. Hope those who had their sleep disrupted last night have a better night.

WN, this was yesterday..... "Homes in north Wales have been hit by floods after hail and thunderstorms struck. Police said the high street in Criccieth, Gwynedd, and surrounding areas were affected".
This is for tomorrow...."Thunderstorms could bring flooding and travel disruption to most of Wales on Sunday, forecasters have warned. The Met Office yellow warning comes into force at 00:00 BST on Sunday and runs until 18:00.The forecaster said fast flowing or deep flood water was possible, potentially causing a danger to life.
Forecasters have also warned of potential delays and cancellations to bus and train services due to flooding and lightning strikes."Bet you are glad to be where you are!!
A fine day here, so was able to complete the cleaning of the outside of the caravan. Nothing much else but our usual walks.
I have been doing the NYT's Wordle on line for a while now and yesterday got the solution in 1, that made my day!!😁

That’s a marvellous crown brue😁 Have a good time tomorrow.

Well we had what they had in France last night, big thunderstorms which rolled in just as the Jubilee Concert was ending on the TV...Good job London was dry and lightning free at the time.
Our street party will go ahead in some shape or form. Back to reality soon, hope you all have a good day. We'll be looking out for the Bridgwater carnival float in the Jubilee parade as someone has been involved locally, a feat of engineering. 🚛🚚

Yes, sadly it’s raining here as well. I rather enjoyed most of the Jubilee concert, I confess much to my own surprise. Mind I am a Queen fan, love their music, Rod in his early days, and Andrea Bochelli. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, looked a great atmosphere.
Enjoy your parties, etc…. Everyone.

Brue, I have set to record the parade today as same as you looking for the Bridgwater cart as I have seen glimpses of it on the local newspaper website, my friends partner who used to do all the painting on one of the carts a few years ago
Well we had the storm pass over us twice but thankfully no hail just heavy rain but not as much as forecast, much cooler this morning at least no watering to do.
Did watch bits of the Jubilee concert but lost some of it due to the storm as tda said a great atmosphere especially the lighting of the Palace and the drone display towards the end as OH said very expensive drones for that sort of display.

Very wet here 1.75 inches of rain overnight up until 0930. Still light rain now.
Undeterred I've made fairy cakes and brownies I'll putthe Eaton mess/pavlova together later for the street party. Forecast saying dry 🤞. Got our BBQ food bits out to defrost and will put salad together later.
Not walked the dog yet, she's had a long lie in with OH and still isn't bothered. Got someone collecting some removal boxes this morning said after 1030 to be back from dog walk but got that wrong!
Still cracking on here I think we're down to a large box of games - nowhere to store yet and OH's 2 computer boxes if he gets round to it 😉 left. Yesterday sorted garage to store as I'd like rather than where removal folk put things and moved a couple of boxes of bits that I'm undecided on keeping but not ready to pass in just yet.
Had some help with the garden but was let down last week, hopefully a full day tomorrow 🤞.
Had plumbers and landscape/gardeners round and some let downs 😤😤 to ask about work but haven't heard back in weeks or folk haven't turned up. Maybe they think I'm not serious re garden lots of hard landscaping needed in the autumn to make veg area safer for us both so several thousand for that alone I suspect. Plus removal of ivy and other climbers - don't think last folk liked brickwork! Double garage has a climbing rose between the doors, a real nuisance which must go, a Virginia creeper on one wall good trim needed, an empty wall at the back - phew it's concrete behind, and the other side a greenhouse but behind that a grapevine and honeysuckle 😱😱.
House was obviously once covered in ivy at the front looking at the brickwork and facia even extended round the side 😱. Original tandem garage, now part of the house covered in climbing hydrangea, well lace cap, with very few flowers. Jury's out over its future at the moment. Advice on pruning suitability of it welcome. Back wall has a Montana on the corner, jasmine's either side of patio doors. And by the sun room I've discovered an outdoor light and a waterbutt under tangled honeysuckle, smells wonderful, and another jasmine....
Rain given me chance to catch up on here but I must sort paperwork now.
Glad to read folks enjoying their activities. Glad things are progressing JVB.
Literally just had a call to say mums brother has passed, probably covid related as all the house is positive at the mo. That just leaves the baby of the family at 87.

Bakers, Montana can be pruned back quite hard, as can jasmines and honeysuckle. Go a bit easier on the Climbing hydrangea though, but pruning it back will give you more and better quality blooms. I have one I need to sort out, tangled up with a Montana. I shall butcher the Montana, get it back to some reasonable size, then take out branches and try and shape the hydrangea a bit. H might not flower next year, but it needs doing. I like to see houses with nice greenery climbing up, but things do need keeping in check, otherwise can swamp windows, wires, etc…. Even the nastiest of wall cladding, or horrible coloured bricks can be transformed by a nice climbing plant. But not ivy😱 and I am no fan of Virginia creeper.
Cut the garage rose back, try and use it elsewhere?Good gardeners are very hard to find. Most are just into cutting grass and cutting hedges. Seriously annoyed with Mum’s gardener at the moment. Dad bought her a lovely Bloodgood Acer, the one with very cut leaves. It had been in for around 15 years, always looked gorgeous. Gardeners have been using power tools around base, and have stripped/damaged bark at bottom all the way round. So the tree’s life support has been destroyed, and it is now dead🤬 Checked on standard roses, and they have same damage. So I have padded the bases as best I can, and educated the slash team on not bashing with mower or slicing with strimmer. The air was blue when I found the tree, sentimental value was priceless.😢
Sorry to hear about your family member passing away.

Oh dear, poor cat. Loved the Paddington bit, very amusing. And the “Queen rap, tap”
Forgot to mention, had a Spitfire zoom right over Mum’s house Friday morning as I was taking her out. Great view as it banked over and flew off elsewhere. I told Mum it was specially for her….🤣 We heard it coming back later on, but couldn’t see it.

So sorry about your sad news bakers2. Your garden sounds lovely with lots bursting into life. I would leave some of it till next year when you will have a better idea of what is flourishing and what is not. There is so rush (as OH keeps telling me!).
We missed the first part of the Jubilee concert as one of our electrics played up which meant the TV went off and OH had to remedy it. Have just watched the Paddington clip on IPlayer. Very good. Lovely to see George and Charlotte there and having a good time. The lighting effects were amazing.
Very heavy rain here, not good for all those who have arranged street parties

Same here Millie. I can hear something going off in our park nearby, but it’s pouring down here sadly. Have sat waiting for it to ease, for dog walk, but it’s not happening. Mr part Duck won’t be bothered of course, Labradors are water proof. Unless it’s in a bath🤣 Bath water is well known as a serious dog hazard, to be avoided……

We really enjoyed the Jubilee concert too. I didn’t think we would watch it all but it moved along quite speedily and the uninteresting (to us) bits didn’t last long, we ended up loving it. Such a great performance from everyone and brilliantly done. The sky drone pictures were really spectacular. Our village festivities are this afternoon ending with fireworks later - oh dear the weather forecast !!!!🤦🏻♀️🤞🤞

Well the Jubilee concert will have to wait until the repeats come around for us.
Good to see something uplifting happening in the UK after 2 horrendous years and much financial worries at the moment. We knew the rain was due sometime this afternoon so we went out early for a cycle ride. Really, really enjoyed it as it took us through mixed woodland most of the way with a huge variety of trees, everything from Scots Pine to Oak to Beech to Larch and all points in between. Some bits of heath to cross which made a nice change as Skylarks were up and Tree Pipits were parachuting.
We came across a street statue that Mrs WN said reminded her of me when I was in one of my better moods.🤔
There was also quite a few marble objects dotted around the circular ride. All were of different shapes and sizes, some on their own and some made as if they were modern standing stones. They were placed in 1999 as a way of connecting the past with the future. Or at least that's what the plaque said. They were rather nice though and very tactile.

Do you read Farmers Guardian? No? Well, you can click the link below and read the article on this week's back page. Our son has just done his first article (then every five weeks as they rotate writers).

We got home this afternoon from a wonderful jubilee weekend at Yellowcraig CC site North Berwick. Weather was lovely for the 3 days and the site was full lots of people had decorations up I may be bias but O think ours were the best SWMBO put a lot of work in to it we even had a cardboard cutout of HM in our awning which caused a bit of amusement for passers by. On Friday we took a drive down to Duns and visited the Jim Clark motor museum which I highly recommend for anyone in the area and the tickets are valid for a year so you can visit again. Yesterday was a lovely day so I went out a cycle in the morning then we were joined by daughter, granddaughter, 2nd oldest son DIL and our 2 grandsons for a jubilee BBQ which went great so nice to be together again for a nice reason. Easy 2 and a half hour tow home today and the van is back in it’s space we have a lot on for the rest of June so won’t be away in the van now until our main summer holiday down to Devon at the beginning of July. Volvo is going in for a service and repair on Wednesday so I’ve a feeling the wallet will be taking a hit this week. Just watched the Jubilee pageant which was excellent very entertaining.
Hope everyone else has had a nice jubilee weekend

Bet you are glad to be where you are!!
You put the kibbosh on that didn't you Nellie! Chucked it down all afternoon. Floating lake outside the awning area. I swear I saw a duck on it.
Not much let up either tomorrow. I blame the UK for sending it over here. Typical B/H weather though.
Sounds a capital weekend Francis but I see that Volvo is still costing you money.

A better and cooler day today and enjoyed the parade this afternoon what some incredible constructions and wonderful colours and being able to see the Bridgwater Carnival cart the longest display there so a lot of cheering here from me, hope brue managed to see it or record it, an enjoyable time after the last two years, glad the Queen managed to make an appearance and the end of it on the balcony of the Palace.
All back to normal tomorrow although here it is another holiday Pentecost so another long weekend. Hope to get a bit of gardening done instead of pool work got a pack of marigold plants that our friends bought us last week so get them in before they come again this Thursday. A rather lazy day for me today whilst OH redid the jockey wheel on the large trailer as he was having a few issues last week with trip to local builders merchants for sand and gravel mix, but all sorted now.

I managed to see it RedKite, we had an excellent street party but the rain became torrential so I went home to dry off and just caught the Bridgwater cart on the TV. Enjoyed the rest of the parade too. Glad to hear others have enjoyed the weekend events.

It has tipped it down all day here. The Cathedral picnic was moved indoors to the nave so a good time was still had by all. It was followed an hour (and a hasty clear up) later my a special Celebration Evensong service attended by the great and the good as well as the rest of us. Lovely service with some great music. It's stll raining 🌧☔.
I saw some of the parade on the news when we got home and will watch the highlights later. It looked amazing and so lovely to see the Queen on the balcony at the end. Glad you saw the Bridgewater cart brue. Hope your crown survived the weather! We are now watching Antiques Roadshow filmed on The Royal Yacht Britannia. Our vist there some years ago was one of my favourite days out. Glad everyone has had a good weekend both home and away.

It has been a lovely day here, almost as hot and sunny as yesterday. I think we had the best of the weather up here.
Worn out yesterday after a whole day standing demonstrating woodturning, but did manage to make some sales. Now +£90 towards our next holiday!
Fell asleep in my chair after dinner, so in bed just after 8pm and slept for over 12 hours.
Today has been grouting in our bathroom...all done now....plus some woodwork for DD. Tomorrow we have the plumber back to fit our new HW tank. Plus we need to clean the caravan.

Sounds like you needed that sleep KJ!
No Millie my hat didn't survive the weather even though we'd all put up lots of shelter there was water everywhere. Mr Brue enjoyed the community spirit too which he is now sleeping off....

Quiet day today here after yesterday's storm.
Spent awhile with our friends chatting about where we are heading for next.
Now everything is nice and dry we packed up and loaded the bikes rather than risk overnight rain and have it all wet in the morning. No rush to get away as we are not heading far, though that could change.
Weather not as good as it has been, much cooler today and I think the forecast is to unsettled until the end of the week. We have had excellent weather so mustn't complain but it would be nice to have dry weather to finish our trip on.
We watched the celebrations last night and the rest today. The lighting was god over Buckingham Palace.
Holiday weekend here, holiday is tomorrow but its been busy with comings and going everyday. The Dutch are on the move, arriving late in the day then leaving fairly early, all very quiet. Think they are heading to the Med.

WN, Sorry about that, as we've had another dry day, but I might get a little damp later on our last walk out. The whole of the concert is on youtube, should you want to watch it while the rain is keeping you in!!😁 I've been watching parts of it tonight. Great victory for Wales today, time now for you to get your flight out to Dubai booked!
Francis, hope that the repair and service don't cost overmuch. Your weekend sounds like a grand time was had by one and all.
B2, sorry to hear of the death in your family. You certainly have a lot of work to go at in your new garden, rather you than me.We
Hope all those that had a street party didn't get wet, and had a jolly good time.
Edit. Sorry to hear that you got a soaking, brue.

I picked our “picnic” up from Sis this morning, and we sat and watched the parade live while munching on some delicious food. The trifle was very nice, different, but tasty.
Best bit of TV for me this last few days was a very interesting look at The Crown Jewels, with Clive Myers. Have seen both sets, Crown and Scottish regalia, but the history of some of the gem stones, and Prinny’s way over the top Diamond Crown was very informative. The Tudor gems, destroyed by the Stuarts and Oliver Cromwell’s mob must have been truly worth seeing. I have a book about Tudor jewellery, very interesting.

Good to read everyone's posts and news.
Despite the rain we had a BBQ, pulled forward by 2 hours - good job I'd made cakes early! I delayed the dog walk because of the weather, it made little difference but it wasn't HEAVY rain when we explored the village streets. Nice change of dog walk because we've stuck to field or green lane footpaths since our arrival. Got back 1215 to learn our BBQ now 1pm not 3pm but under gazebo in a front garden. Much shifting of self to finish prep and completely defrost meat it was almost there.
Made it for 1310. Just 4 of the 6 houses at our end, 2 holidaying, all similar age to us. Nice to get to know them. Good food and company if we were in winter clothes and coats! By 3pm original meet time the younger crowd who hadn't gone on holiday or discovered chicken pox popped up to see us, at various times, various messages about cold and wet so not eating out. The weather was a real dampener in every way and it was almost dark before it went. Various folk braved the weather to walk as a family or with the dog and exchanged greetings.
Loved the pageant which we watched on catch up. Great float, have always wanted to see one of the SW carnivals but never managed too so great treat to see that float. Friends daughter lives in Wells and they have been several times telling us about the huge floats and tiny streets 😱😱.
Tanks for gardening tips, I'm not rushing things there are several urgent jobs - like ivy removal.... I've heard he'll be here 0830. Great day for such a task ground too wet. And trimming other brick climbers. I love the idea of loosing the brickwork but need to think of the expense as neither I nor OH can do trimming on that scale. No plant will be composted unless that's our only option, I'll try to find them good homes.
Thank you for good wishes on loss of my uncle.
Takethedogalong don't know which day your OH has op but thinking of you both. And all those with various appointments and life challenges.
Edit just checked out of the window ground still soaked and still.moisture dropping. That's 24 hours...... Note to self spend a bit longer looking for waterproof hat 👒 which wasn't in waterproof coat pocket nor anywhere else logical yesterday! But there are some birds awaiting feed in the garden so must be lighter than this time yesterday...
Edit 2 the heating has come on! Must be some air movement as flags, on poles, are moving a little
