Bakers2 mentioned places to visit, we're lucky as we have NT Montacute but most other places are closed. We're not far from Forde Abbey which has lovely all year round gardens but they decided to shut as most would have to travel there and non locals would probably appear. I'm so looking forward to a few more places opening up. Hope we don't miss all the spring flowers, we've found things generally well organised and as safe as possible for visitors.

Have you tried hitting the reply button, I would have thought that show up where it is from. It might depend what email client you use as some give more information that others.

I’m not the least bit interested DK, it’s hooky so I’ve now junked it & moved on👍🏻

Perhaps you should have posted in this thread here https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/club-together/discussions/the-social-room/general-chat/current-scams/ Helpful to have all scam information in one place?

Thanks brue. I had what I am sure is a phishing email supposedly from Royal Mail yesterday advising me that they had my parcel quoting a reference number but the postage had not been paid - please click on the link in the email. (I think not) I have forwarded it to the National Cyber Security email in the link that you shared so very many thanks. I also had a text supposedly from HMRC a few days ago advising me that I had a tax rebate due of £279.51. (again please click on the link). As accountant daughter has sorted out our financrs so only OH pays tax and I don't I don't think so. Please take care everyone.
I have had a frustrating few days here as my PC suddenly had no internet. So difficult to sort out remotely with my computer advisors - son and SIL - with photos sent and advice over the phone. Finally sorted it out with a new ethernet cable. Photos had to be sent to me to show me how to reconnect it. As you can tell I am not tech savvy! All sorted now - phew!
We had a nice long walk yesterday in the mild weather. We bumped into a couple of very good friends so had a lovely socially distanced chat which really lifted the spirits. So lovely to see them in the flesh as we had not actually 'seen' them for months
Cheering signs of spring in the garden today. A few daffodils in flower, plus crocuses and hellebores.
Hope those feeling under the weather soon feel better.

If anyone is watching Bloodlands on BBC1 the place where they recovered the car from the lough is Strangford where our youngest son and family live. Their house is the pink one up on the hill at the back. We have been on that ferry so many times.

Good idea, it’s sorted. Thanks👍🏻

I got exactly the same email, a couple of days ago. Since I'm always getting parcels - mainly from Amazon, I had to think long and hard as to whether there was another one due by Royal Mail. When I realised there wasn't - I binned it. However - just checked again (it's sitting in the 'bin") and it's from a .be email address. Another one for the Cyber Security Centre, although I'm sure they'll have been inundated with them.

Millie I'll whizz through iplayer to take a look, did your family see any of the filming? We knew someone who was brought up in the area and we enjoyed our trip over there with a list of recommended places to see from our friend. I might even have a photo with the pink house on it! Hope it won't be too long before you go back again.

Go for it-binge watch👍🏻, I do on the streaming channels when there is 2 or 3 seasons, it’s easier to keep up with the plot👍🏻🙂

Yes brue. They did see the filming as they have a good view of the harbour from their house. I love sitting in their conservatory watching the ferry going back and forth. They saw all the comings and goings down there but had no idea what it was for. It was filmed over a year ago.
Very grey day here today. OH is cleaning the cars and I must now get back to the various household tasks I have planned for today.

Yesterday was "click and collect " day - and as a treat (for the car as well as for us) we took the Scenic Route, an extra 7 miles. Usually it's a Biker Route, but we only met one - but at least 20 cyclists (not a group, just ones and twos).
Today I was idly checking some dates on Find My Past website and stumbled across my Grandfather's Army Records. Until last week I never knew he was in the army, and now I have several pages relating to his service. He was 19 in 1920 and was only served for 62 days, because of his TEETH! Or lack of them I think it means, reading the feint handwritten report. They look OK in this photo from 1918 (but he does have his mouth shut).
I find it very easy to keep following links and not get on with anything useful, like lifting a duster etc.

I think of it the other way round Goldie.....following links is useful, it’s the dusting that interferes!

It is really beginning to feel like spring has arrived here yesterday was a lovey sunny day so we took the day van along the coast and sat with a nice warm tea looking out to sea lots of people out walking and cycling. Sunny here again today and the temperature is up so so need for the heating to be on all day as it has been recently.

Goldie I'm with takethedogalong regarding interference 😉.
Good to know some war records on find my past, might get round to some more myself but I'm still sorting mum and dad's stuff. I've got some notes on my dad's war service but never applied for his full record - now they're asking that we wait because of the current situation 🙁. Whilst emptying the house we found his kit bag complete with army number, not seen it before. No wonder he was a good packer! He always said if it didn't fit in your kitbag it couldn't go. Not much bigger than some handbags 😱. I remember seeing an actual box you'd have been allowed to emigrate with - lunchbox size! We sure have all got used to stuff these days 🤐
Well for a change, I'm being sarcastic, its grey and raining AGAIN here, not too warm either. Walked the dog but that's tired me again. Still feeling nauseous, tired and lethargic if this is the reaction I'll pass on the full blown thanks.
Fed up with the media speculation/government leaks. Roll on PM statement, if I can understand it without an interpreter 😉. I hope it's slow and steady but I can get to have a stand and stare with son and possibly a walk with us meeting halfway-ish and even meet my brother for a walk. I feel like Billy no mates as no one wants to join my for wet muddy exercise 🤣
Edit just seen PM speaking to the house. We're all going to be rather shaggy before we can visit the hairdresser..........

Lovely sunny day here Bakers, for a change.
Trouble is I can't get into the garden as it's too sodden from last weeks deluge on top of an already saturated ground. Shame really. Plus garden centres still closed in Wales.
Picked up a library book from Click and Collect system and sorted out deposit for new bathroom window.
Had news that someone who had the Pfizer vaccine 6 weeks ago is having their second jab next week.

I've been sitting outside in the sun this afternoon, went on a dog walk and then enjoyed a cup of tea out on a bench...lovely!
Usual jobs done, now listening to Boris in Westminster.
Reading Goldie's post, just to say that the National Archives are still doing free searches on some of their documents. I downloaded my paternal Grandfather's Victorian Naval papers not long ago. I've already got his discharge papers (from 13yrs to 50 yrs of age) I can now work out where he was on some of the ships and finally his reserve time as a Coastguard...and then after all that he emigrated to Canada!

We have just spent an hour or so reading some stories for our granddaughter. She has something called a Toniebox. You can buy little plastic figures with pre recorded stories, as well as blanks on which you can record your own. The box connects to the internet and the tonie cloud. We can read the stories into the App on our pads, and assign them to the figure we bought. Her mum can then put the figure on the box, press a few buttons and the story will be downloaded. It will then remain in the figure unless Deleted User.
A very useful device for these covid times, when we can’t meet up and read stories in person.0 -
One thing is certain, Goldie, those lads definitely knew how to wear a properly tied tie !! And his cheeks do not appear to have sunk, unlike my father ~~ his gnashers lived in a drinking glass in the pantry when I was a little 'un -- took me ages to work out they were a full set of false teeth
. They did not cause him to get de-mobilized though ~~ they did that fast enough after the first mad race to sign-up all of an age for WW2 but they had to wait until he misplaced his specs and proved he was as blind as a bat without them ! I think that they were off cuts from a Victorian window glazers work bench !!

Well was there early for my vaccination due at 8am, had it at 7.55 and was out for 8.10. A fantastic nurse did the jab and really just a slight pain, had far worse.
Arm and shoulder feels stiff/sore and felt very tired about 2 and was totally out with the best sleep I've had for a long time for about an hour and a half.
Rainy this morning but sunshine this afternoon.

Having heard the news about holidays in England I went on to the holiday cottage website.
They had a transfer to later date button so entered our booking reference and dates wanted and hey presto their website crashed. Wasn't me, honest, I didn't touch it.
So the system has now wiped our booking off completely without transferring it and guess what, yep they're really busy on the phones and chat line can't help.
Good news is that i'm position 8 in the phone queue. Make that 7.
Oh, the fun we have .

Lovely day here today as well, that's 2 days on the trot
. Tomorrow of course will be awful we have an amber warning for heavy rain. Big sister got a message to say flood warning was off today phew, could be back on tomorrow though.I'm back to fitness, front garden got a good tidy up this morning. OH, washed the cars and did a bit of work on mine. The brakes have been making a noise when its been sat for a few days. We don't leave the handbrake on but they are still noisy. Today he stripped them down and gave them a good clean. That will do for awhile but as soon as its warmer he will fit new ones.
We sat out the front in the sun and had a cuppa, that's the first this year.
While the sun was still out I decided to air the caravan, one thing lead to another and I ended up spring cleaning it. All looking good and ready'ish for the off.
We got an email from BF to say our late April crossing to Spain has been cancelled. We had thought it would but not until nearer the time. They have offered a refund or voucher valid for 2 years.
Just waiting for the news to find out when we can all get away in the vans.
Bakers2, sorry to hear you are still feeling tired and under par, hope it passes soon.
