The service for our motorhome is booked for the second week of March and I am also waiting to see what the PM has to say on the 22nd to see if there will be any relaxation of travelling before ringing the dealers to see if everything is still set. I am not sure the police locally are actively checking on people, MK to Rushden is hardly en route to the Peaks or near a beach!!! It is the "essential journey" phrase which is open to interpretation! Personally I feel having my motorhome serviced is pretty essential, especially now the oil change light is flashing (two years from purchase).

We live not far from Peak District, usually head into Sheffield vets via Strines, Ladybower, Dore/Totley route, so we would be dicing with the unpredictability of Derbyshire’s finest plod’s who haven’t covered themselves in glory this last year. It would be good to give MH a run, but despite the vets being essential, choice of vehicle needs to be a common sense one. Not that our big copper coloured Jeep is discreet though😂
Difficult around servicing of MH’s and Caravans, but if the workshops are open, and it’s a straight there, straight back do, hopefully it’s keeping folks in work, and keeping outfits safe. Hope things work out for you.👍

More leaky money.

The bathroom window in MiLs bathroom won't close, as mentioned last week, and repair man been this morning. Pointed out why and we've agreed it needs replacing so now waiting on estimate for new window.
I was promised an email today from Scottish Power. Why they texted me on Wednesday to tell me that it would take 2 days to send an email goodness only knows. But, yep, still waiting.
Raining this morning so made some Scones. Haven't done this for a while. Quite nice with a coffee. Will get out for a walk this afternoon.

I stepped inside ours yesterday, first time for a couple of months. OH runs the engine sometimes although the solar or plug in keeps the batteries going. I intended to wash things down to freshen it up but gave up on the idea, found a packet or walnuts and retreated back into the house. I've now got the urge, so will do it next time! We have taken it out for servicing and MOT, no problems. I look at neighbours going backwards and forwards, who knows where and I don't know why we feel worried about going out, but we do.
Next week if the weather looks better we'll take the car and do an NT garden just to stop feeling institutionalised by the lockdown, it's not good for us!

We take the MH out every couple of weeks on food shopping day. Not been stopped so far despite travelling on the A9, we often past the police check point. We go straight to the shops get the food then go a much longer route back home

Grey, wet and miserable here today, I think I prefer the snow and frost with blue skies.
Still suffering with headaches, not as bad today, I think its coming from my neck and shoulders so got the OH to give my a massage.
Waiting for a nice mild dry day then I'm going to get into the caravan and give it a spring clean.
Had a call from the dentist to say I'm due a check up and hygienist app, first time that's ever happened
I'm with a new dentist (same practice) the old one left /retired. I've seen the new chap once already, very young but seems to be more proactive than the other chap. Might start to get VFM out of my denplan now.0 -
We had a phone call yesterday from the dental practice. We knew that it would be for a postponement due to treatment schedule for dentists daughter. It was for that but fortunately she will be able to fit us in the day before. Was hoping it would 2 days earlier then I could have told Mrs WN that I was taking her out for our anniversary.

It must be a nightmare for them to sort out as the treatment dates are not an exact science as it depends how the young lass copes with them.

We have an old camper just a small one (more a day van really) and we use that most of the time just now and have not had any bother from the police etc we like to have it with us as we can make a cup of tea or heat things up in the little oven when out also I keeps the mileage down on the Volvo. Like a few of you we are planning on moving the caravan out and giving it a good clean the roof is needing done it’s filthy and once the outside is done we will give the inside a good spring clean and clear some things out that we don’t need. Hopefully won’t be Lon until it’s hooked on to the back of the car and we are away somewhere again.
Miserable day here very wet and windy so won’t be venturing out today have a few beers cooling in the fridge so will have them later on.
Hope everyone else has a nice weekend

MH sorting hasn’t happened today, so far. Went longer walk with pooch, then the lure of our local nursery struck. Home laden with things for tubs and pots, some now planted, and it’s damp and gloomy here now. So it’s inside, stove lit, and I am going to look at some CLs and a route out of Devon via Somerset and Wiltshire.

No nurseries open here or garden centres unless you class B&Q as one.

Dobbies is open but only for the small Sainsbury bit. Everything else is roped off. No bulbs, seeds or plants to buy.
Hope lockdown is over before the better weather as they all missed out so much last year, I doubt they will survive another hit at what should be their busy time.

Yes, one of our well known quite big independent Garden Centres here closed before Xmas. I think some of these big places that sell a lot more than plants and shrubs have really struggled. Too much reliance on the coffee shop, everything else that is sold indoors can be bought online, big overheads on staffing and building costs.
Conversely, our local nursery, that sells primarily plants, shrubs, small trees, and a tiny bit of other stuff is doing really well. I recognised one of the lads who usually does Mum’s garden for her this afternoon. I thought he was there buying, but no, he’s got a job there on much better rate of pay. So that great news for him, and the nursery who have taken on two new staff members. They got well organised at first lockdown, went into business with local farms selling milk, veg and fruit boxes, so you could add on plants to a food order, either delivered or to collect. It’s still all outdoors trading, only undercover that public can go into is a hothouse that is strictly controlled. Full credit to them for getting so well organised. It’s paid off for them.1 -

A miserable wet and windy day here.
OH has tried to contact our dealer to arrange a service but without luck, they must be closed. I have a few jobs to do on the van but it has been way too cold recently, so maybe just as well it cannot go yet.
We had/have some bookings for a trip away up north over Easter, but it sounds very unlikely wee Nicola will allow us to go, so OH has cancelled our CCC ones and deposit will be refunded.
We still have one CL booked, deposit carried over from same time last year, so will leave that meantime, on the remote chance that we can travel, plus 2 CAMC sites booked, will wait a bit before cancelling them too. Would be nice to get away even for a couple of weeks! The original planned trip would have left us plenty of time to be back before our second vaccinations, so no problem with a shorter trip.
Next thing to sort is our car insurance.

Another grey day here again....... Got an hour's sunshine yesterday which I missed!
Feeling a bit better today after bit of a reaction to my jab on Wednesday, muzzy head and kidney ache quite quickly,. Latter went but started to ache generally and felt lethargic. Needed to take regular paracetamol something I've not done in many years and had an afternoon doze.
Needless to say minimum done but did enjoy a dog walk.
Got a scam email alledgedly from DVLA about inconsistencies on details. Quite authentic looking, reply within 48 hours and threatening my vehicle could be crushed 😱. Was fairly certain it was a scam immediately but had to really think calmly! I hadn't applied for refund, they didn't quote registration, and then I remembered it's not in my name 🤣

Funny you should mention insurance Kj, live in daughter needed to get on her sister's car insurance for the next three days. So she rang up and was told yes but in addition to the premium for three days there would be a £9.50 'admin fee'. Ok so she went through all the questions and was then told the price would be £9.74, in addition to the admin fee she asked? No that is in total! so the insurance cost 8 pence per day. She doubled checked but yes.

Bakers2. I said I would pass on the emeralds this time so OH can save up for the diamonds in 5 years time😁
WN. Yes I was a child bride 🤣
Thank you all for your lovely comments. We celebrated with a blustery but thankfully dry walk and then a chinese takeaway this evening. We know how to live the high life.
Some of you have reminded me that our van service is due soon but I am not sure the dealer is open. Our van is in storage so we havent seen it since before Christmas. We have a short trip planned for the end of March mostly to air the caravan and sort it out but I have my doubts that it will go ahead.

We were on the eastern side of the wall, so the left going down, but it was nearly 30 yrs ago so the path will be a lot different from then I guess. I have been down since but even that was a while ago....my memory is not what it should be there days.

WN, you're welcome to intrude any of my post, your's probably add more of interest than mine anyway.
