What are you all up to

ABM I had the same problem's with brue's photos so the site is still running very slow probably because so many of us are trying to amend or make new bookings 😏. Lovely photos once they appeared brue.
I do hope you feel better soon bakers2. It must be miserable for you.
Goldie the planned wedding sounds lovely. Fingers crossed for you all that all goes ahead as planned.
I collected my new spectacles this morning but I am not sure they are making much difference. Hoping I will get the call for my cataract op before too long. We took ourselves off to a garden centre today (quite an adventure for us) and purchased a Japanese flowering cherry tree with vouchers we were given for Christmas. It has now been planted in a nice sheltered part of the garden where it will get plenty of sun.

We enjoyed the Auvergne when we had a holiday there one year RK staying on a campsite above the town of Murat. Remember coming across a very cross Charolais when on a walk. It had got separated from her calf in the next field and seemed to blame us. Fortunately we found a way out when her back was turned.
Agree with you about Cantal cheese as well and the weather can be cold at any time of year but the scenery is beautiful. Enjoy it when you get there.

That's good news, just need it confirming now.

Still not good on here☹️No chance of trying to catch up with everyone’s news, but I hope everyone is ok. We got confirmation of our cottage today, so that’s something to look forward to later in year. I have re jigged one of our Club bookings, and will cancel one when website is behaving better, plenty of time to do it.
Been nice here today, decent dog walk this morning, then at long last our new curtains have arrived and been put into place. Ordered before Christmas, they were completed early January, but I put off fitters because of lockdown, but today was the day. Managed a good few hours in garden as well, which is tidying up nicely, lots of things showing now. Finished off with a short pooch walk this evening, so all in all a very nice day😁

I too use Fenwick's, both their Caravan Cleaner and then follow that with Bobby Dazzler, it does the job as far as I'm concerned.
Shame about some of your Scottish sites, WN, hope that you are able to at least get to the others. Good news about the cottage, though.
I was wrong about the forecast for today, as it's been even worse than I expected, having rained all day.

Sorry to hear about your Scottish trip WN, if I could have got on here earlier I would have suggested hanging on a bit as things could change by mid March when she has another review. Today she took a lot of flack from the tourist industry.
We still have our trip in place for the end of April fingers crossed.
We have spent a frustrating couple of hours setting up a trip for May, going up the west coast around the top and back down the east to Inverness, then home towards the end of the month. Most of the sites sorted just need to call a couple of CLs tomorrow, only 1 C&MC site and 1 C&CC site.
Looking to do Cumbria, Northumberland, Yorkshire and a bit of the peak district in June/July. Really don't think we will get to France before September.
Bit of a mixed day today, a little light rain, a bit of sun but mostly a grey dry'ish day not to cold but a bit windy pretty typical sort of day at this time of year here.
Food shopping this morning at Aldi, then I went to Tesco and bought a new set of saucepans for the house
sorted out the pans in the caravan and MH so all good there. Need a trip to IKEA at some point when we can as I want to get a few more of their glass plates/bowls, we have a few chipped ones in the caravan. Trying to do anything on here just now is very frustrating its that slow.

Thanks Tammy but I don't like uncertainty or relying on any politician. I know they change their minds at a drop of the hat but I didn't want to get to the stage of not having something else in the bag and I didn't want to string other CL owners in Wales and England along. Plus I wanted to give sites up in Scotland as much time as possible to get alternative bookings in. There's always next year. Well, not always but hopefully.

There's a strong possibility that Mrs WNs second jab will interfere with the proceedings anyway.
I've got a nice CL in Northumberland booked for 4th.June for 5 nights that I might cancel if I can't get something I like in the Lakes the week before to make it worth the trip. I'll let you know just before I cancel it if you want.

Thanks WN and Nellie for the feedback on the Fenwicks cleaner looks like it will be good I did get the Bobby Dazzler too which I’m looking forward to trying to see if we can get some of the shine back on the van.
TG - I agree with you I have a feeling she will move faster especially on the tourism side of things she definitely seemed rattled about that today and as I said last night in here I do know that they employ people to look specifically on social media to judge public opinion and judging by the comments on there last night she wasn’t a very popular lady. We are hoping to get away a bit earlier but if not then Berwick in May will hopefully be our first trip out this year.

Francis,
When you have tried out the Fenwicks let us know please 'cos the moment Wee McBurnie says it's safe you will have queues such as only Sainsburys and Waitrose get normally -- and all of us all asking for a Wash n Polish puleese

Cancelled our booking for Moreton mid June. It clashes with our cottage booking, but I have got a pitch booked for late July instead. More expensive though☹️

WN, perfectly understand your reasons, hope you still get to have a good tour. Thanks for the offer of the CL if you don't use it, isn't those dates half term week in England (we don't have that one in Scotland)
Managed to get a booking at one of the CLs we were after
cant get an answer from the other one and no machine to leave a message
will just have to keep trying. There is little choice on the north coast so can't wait around to long. Francis, I'm hoping she does change the dates, a week earlier and we would be fine for our trip
can't see any reason for her delaying things as the numbers are the best in the UK, she is certainly getting flack from all sides just now.Brighter day today and dry so far, might get out for a wee cycle ride, need to get the legs and seat back into action

Working on a June trip now as can't see us getting to France. OH has a big birthday in July we've been looking at cruises but still not sure yet if I'm ready for that, could be a nice CL on the Moray coast instead

In some ways the delay in the announcement from Scotland is holding up things for everyone, I'm sure there'll soon be a move in the right direction. A pity this is holding everything back when things are looking more hopeful (I know everything could be knocked back anywhere in the UK but we're hoping not.)
I'd had my eye on a cottage in Cornwall but it was fully booked, bar a few long weekends at eye watering rates so I managed to get a long weekend at a slightly cheaper rate in November...should be nice and cold and quiet by then but we'll be ok...

Tammy, not sure when half term is but I think (just) that it's from May BH to Friday 4th.June. Don't quote me though. I'm sure someone will know exactly when it is.
Had to go into town today but Thursday is usually quiet. I spoke to Wrexham Orthotics the other day asking when I could get some orthotics made. Sharp intake of breath. Yes, I had been referred by my GP but it will take another 6 months at least. "We can't just make them from your Mould, we'll have to have a consultation first" So I took them to the local Chiropodist to look at having them made privately. When I opened the Mould up it looks like some had crumbled so that option may be out but I'm thinking of having a consultation with them now and having them make them. The hospital did say that once a new mould had been made it could still take quite a number of weeks as they have just 1 man making them. Yep, 1 man. Chiropodist says it will probably take a couple of hours. So looks like I'll be getting the wallet out again. At this rate may not be able to afford to go away.
Waiting for freezer to finally defrost then we can get out for a walk.

E mail from a CL up north that we had booked for early April, saying they had been told by the Club that they could not open before April 4th, so we have rebooked for September. We were going to wait a few months before rebooking as that is 6+ months away, and who knows what might happen in 6 months, but the CL is already getting September bookings.
Not sure where April 4th comes into things as nothing in England is opening before April 12th, and we seem to be being kept at home even longer. It was mentioned somewhere that the stay at home rule might end on April 5th, but that is not the same as being able to travel anywhere we want.
Being allowed to meet family indoors, even in small numbers, is what we are waiting to hear about as DD has an ever increasing list of things she wants me to do in her house!
We also need to get the builders in soon as we want to get a bathroom redone, but at present only essential repairs are allowed.

That's what I thought so no going on sites until the 6th then

We are now booked up for May, had to make a few changes due to the fact the site at Ullapool do not take bookings in advance, its just a turn up on the day. Would be happy with that with the MH or on any other year but no this year, I want to 'know' I have a pitch.
We now have an issue, I want to sort out June and get something booked up as I can't see us getting to France, OH wants to wait just in case we can
I've told him its getting busy and we might not get what we want if we wait, he however is sure we will be fine
Been a dry day so we took the bikes out for a 5 mile ride, washing all hung outside dry and smelling lovely, first time this year

Someone is having 40 winks, can't think why he hasn't done anything today other than the bike ride

Fascinators seem to have taken over from hats. It always amuses me when they have lifeboat drill on the cruise ships. The 'must have' list - medication, warm jacket and head covering. Some medications could be tricky to apply/use in a rolling lifeboat and, since the only hats in abundance are fascinators, the 'head covering' isn't going to cut it in the North Atlantic in early March.

Unfortunately not in the places we want to go, not any of the honey pot sites just places we haven't been before, its the aged old issue of all weekends full

I'll sort something out with a mix of Camc,C&CC and CLs. I'm not wanting to go down south as we will do that at the back end of the year if we can't get to France/Spain. Just looking at NE, NW, Peak District and Yorkshire.
Nellie I have great respect for you doing this all the time, I don't think I would have the same enthusiasm for touring if I was confined to the UK for much longer. Give me the ease of Europe any day.

Yorkshire will be busy TG. It’s busy normally in some places all year round, including Winter, but this year it’s going to be horrendous. Do you have a particular area/ place in mind? We know some good small private Sites. 👍

I don't think I'd bother with a fascinator if the ship was going down...

Just had a lovely Zoom meeting with our garden club, feel positively human again seeing everyone and we had a really good speaker, someone who site managed the Chelsea Flower Show (amongst other gardening jobs!) Makes you realise how much you miss other people not just the family. Mind you it's been good to have CT in these difficult times. Much to be said for modern communications...when it works.
I saw this in a local magazine....

Think you are right about seeing other people Brue.
I know when we had just stay local in Wales and MiL could get to see a dear friend of hers. They'd arrange a meeting sitting on a bench in the churchyard, take away coffee and cake, both of them wrapped up against the wind, chatting away mostly about crafting. The difference in her for the following week was palpable.
Had a busy afternoon organising some breaks away and getting a walk in whilst the sun was still out.
Freezer now back on. Have to do the other back up one tomorrow.

No Brian...
(brain malfunction, had to think about that for a few minutes!) I have to say it was very friendly and everyone was helpful as most were new to Zoom. Some had very long hair, that was quite funny after not seeing them for a long time!
Oh for the hairdressers to re-open.....👀

Stunning morning here. Our wacky weather has struck, it’s like a Summer’s day. Early walk for pooch, I am off to our local tip to dump some garden rubbish, then it’s a cycle ride for us.😁 First time out together for ages, just hope I can keep up😬

got a site booked 1st june thru 18th June, not CAMC, just 17 fully svcd pitches adults only tucked away in Cornwall, 20 minutes from the shore, so just far enough away from the maddening crowds

Half term in Hampshire looks to be the 1st week in June for most schools
Cxld our over there trip, dont see much point travelling all that way if you are not allowed to travel until mid May/June , I saw a date of 17th May when International travel will possibly be allowed, France could be ok but Spain for us is a no no.
Beautiful day, but very frosty morning, caravan keeps looking at me and saying "clean me"

Couldn't agree more. Trying to get a row of sites fixed up for a tour in the UK is decidedly stressful and time-consuming.
Garage has just phoned. Moho's MOT, service and campbell change all done. Just shy of £800.

Ambient temperature sensor has been on the blink and under-reads by 10 degrees. Apparently Fiat only sell the whole mirror assembly.
Might learn to live with the "possible ice on road" warning.0 -

Isn't it, this club has the best system by far with no deposits required but you pay for in the end with the price of the sites.
C&CC work out less expensive but if sorting a tour only staying 3 nights, it works out very expensive on deposits and much harder if you change your mind about length of stay or even site change. Having to go back to the booking centre (which you currently can't get a hold of) is so time consuming and frustrating.
I love CL's but am reluctant to book one if there is a chance that my plans could change (they often do) as I don't like messing them around.
With a slim chance of France being viable for June I am in a pickle as I don't want to book up and pay deposits if we can go, however I don't want to go if we have to mess about with tests out and back. Oh what a predicament.
Still I have 1 site booked for June with this club every thing else will have to work around that if we don't go to France.
TTDA, yes Yorkshire will be very busy. Not sure if we will make it other than to visit our son and family (we stay on a CL owned by friends) other than that we will just take our chance. IF I get stuck I will give you a shout

I'll be glad when we get back to something resembling normal

Sun is shining its pretending its summer (no chance not warm enough yet) off out into the garden now to give the soil a tickle and fluff
