Finally managed to get on line. Weather here is fantastic but a little too hot at 35c+ don't feel like doing much but sitting in the shade. Apartment is great, big and comfortable with a huge sun deck overlooking the beach. Went swimming in the sea yesterday
water at a pleasant 26c. Not a cloud in the sky. Will have to venture out at some stage as need supplies0 -

Took Elderly Sister shopping followed by a trip to local garden centre. I ended up reloading her shopping to make room for her bags of compost. When I turned round she had disappeared -- then she re-appeared with one (1 !! ) chicken pie for her lunch !
When I got home I find she had left behind a bag of lamb steaks, choccy biscuits and a couple of packs of butter. When I took them back, delaying my own lunch nary a cuppa did I get. Just " Oh you should have put it in your fridge !!"
At least on my way home I dropped into the Surgery to leave my requests -- SUCCESS !!
Not only a repeat prescription but three appointments at weekly intervals for Phlebotomy, Diabetes Clinic & Doctor as well.

Been to the dental hospital today so that they can work out what to do about teeth wearing down - caused but the growth of my bottom jaw, due to an old condition of mine called acromegaly. Heaven knows what the are going to end up by doing. Whatever it
is it will probably end up by costing me money.David

You've got a doctor? Well done, I understand that in kent you have to be dead before they will see you!
While I was away the Practice had a Public Meeting to tell anybody who was interested why they were having problems getting appointments. Using the local Church Hall they expected about 30 to attend !! Ha Ha !! The place, I am informed, was filled to over-flowing. The main point made apparently was that they can get Temps in regularly under the guise of "Training" and even will allow replacement of posts caused by retirement but the local Trust will not fund permanent filling of 'New Posts'
As you say, RF, I know how lucky I am to have filled my three requirements within the month, and all at reasonable spacings -- you won't find A B M Knocking the N H S believe me . Like many things on here you might find me taking the Micky, but nothing more serious than that.

Brian, just to echo your sentiments about the NHS, how about this for service.....
had to get knee xrayd yesterday....appt 11:45, went in ten mins early, was home by just about 12:15.
nurse said 7-10 days for results back to surgery....
at 9:05 this morning, the surgery receptionist phoned to say that the xray had been sent to Musgrove hospital yesterday afternoon, had been checked there...(no action reqd)....this diagnosis had then been forwarded to my surgery, my doctor agreed with the
verdict and got the receptionist to update me.now, i reckon thats pretty damn good service....and no action on knee either....apart from a bit of rest...

Another lovely day and another lovely walk. The book we're following shows the route going through a farmyard and even asks you to respect the property. Well there was a sign on the path leading to it saying that it was private property and no entrance.
The old farmer was cutting logs down by the house so we ventured down to him to ask the way. No problems he said, carry on through. He said that he put the no entry sign up as he was fed up with walkers but as we had asked so politely in our best French
he decided we were to be allowed through!Who said those French language lessons were a waste of time?

It's been a quiet day for us. Just as well because Monday and Tuesday were absolutely manic. Today we had time to do some shopping in Tesco. We bought a sea food recipe book and so went with a huge list of ingredients to stock up. Now we've got all the ingredients,
we'll be eating some tasty sea food dishes.0 -

Arrived at Barnard Castle just after 12 noon and found a nice soutth-facing pitch conveniently close to the water and waste.
Warden advised we should not put up an awning as strong winds were expected tonight. She was right!!
Very strong gusts from the west, hitting us side on, so van is taking a battering. Hope it dies down a bit soon or there will be no sleep.

We've got up to a rather grey and wet start to the morning this morning. We've just finished breakfast and I'm now on my second cup of tea!

Still very windy here, quite a bit of rain too, despite it now being sunny.
Lots of really strong gusts overnight. first time we have endured such a long battering. MH on next pitch is being very badly affected.
Bad at home too, hope the house is still in one piece!
