On a break at a campsite in Devon we had daily visits from a robin. He waited for wholemeal breadcrumbs and we saw him one day taking a rest on the wheel of our VW Tiguan.

We had a great time at the Buxton Club site, very lucky with the very warm weather, luckily the peak district was still nice and green and the views from the site and surrounding were great. We had a nice walk from the site into the country park to see Solomon's temple up on the hill then a nice cooling walk out of the…
We have just returned from a great week at the Buxton Site, set in an old quarry in a country park. Ideally placed in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District, great walks in the park from the site, no need to drive!! The grandchildren loved the fairy glen and the walk to Solomon's temple, a 10 minute walk from our pitch
Our latest trip to Edinburgh got cut short as the rains came and soaked what we had left of a week at the Fringe. Nothing new there I suppose; I remember freezing to death one evening in August at the Edinburgh Tattoo? Scotland is famous for rain and so I suppose we were not disappointed. The first three days at Edinburgh…
We toured the Scotish boarders for 30 days in 2022 and if you want to read about our tour, I recorded details of the trip using >PolarSteps<:

We arrived on site on…
During a recent holiday in Tenby we stayed at New Hedges Farm where we based ourselves for some walking. We embarked on one particular walk to The Blue Lagoon in Abereiddy near Haverfordwest, a stunning example of just how lovely the UK can be. During our walk we watched a pair od peregrine Falcons protecting teir young…
Late June and we set off on what was to be a three week tour of the West Country, mainly Somerset and Devon. It didn’t quite turn out like that but more of that latter. Our first stop was Wellington in Somerset where we stayed at the Club’s Cadeside site. Tiny compared with most Club sites with only 16 hardstanding pitches…
We've been adding nights each time we go away. Since this was our third trip, it was three nights! First stop was at Balbirnie Park Club Campsite. It was easy to find. The motorway and A roads were relatively quiet so we made good time. The site is edged by the main village of Markinch on one side and a large park on the…
