There have been more cases of lung worm in dogs being reported in the southwest. Make sure your dog is vaccinated and the advice is not to leave dog bowls etc outside on the ground where slugs and snails can be attracted. This could apply to camp site users so it's worth checking out and taking action to prevent this…
Worrying article in todays Guardian about a very large number of dogs falling I’ll after walking on beaches in Yorkshire. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/jan/12/warning-as-hundreds-of-dogs-fall-sick-after-beach-walks-on-yorkshire-coast Posted to make others aware.
I’ve just returned from our first trip with my Grand-dog Mischa. The stake we bought is fine, but, she snapped her collar when she tried (and succeeded) to escape to catch up with my grandson as he went to the loo, then we were on constant alert after she tangled her leg in the line. Can anyone suggest best options?
I wondered what other people's experience has been taking their dog to Europe, particularly regarding getting the tape worm treatment prior to returning to the UK. We have taken our previous dogs abroad before with pet passports, which was easy. It is far more difficult and expensive now. For those who don't know the pet…
As a couple who live on the road full time with our two rescue dogs we have put together some of our tips and experiences on a new post. We also reached out to other members of the vanlife community who are doing the same and included some of their feedback. We hope you find it helpful,…
Looking for some advice, we are booked into a Club Site in a few weeks time with our dogs. I have just read a review that says dog toileting isnt allowed on the site which is fair enough. However I am wondering how to stop the dogs toileting during the walk from the motorhome to the outside of the site. Feeling…
Well, Ralph has finally arrived with us and, after 18 months of Lady being the only dog in the house she finally has her new companion. He's 18 months old himself and quite a live wire, but he has settled incredibly quickly - slept all through last night without a sound from him until we got up this morning. The two of…
I was always under the impression that it was not allowed to leave dogs unaccompanied in your caravan whilst staying on Club sites. We are currently on the NYM site, near Whitby and there is a poor dog barking and whining in the van next to us. The owners went out this morning and given the experience of the last few days,…
Just a heads up if your cat needs a booster vaccine any time soon. There is apparently a shortage of vaccines for cats and boosters are being delayed (safely) for at least two months. Our cat was due to have his done early November but we now have to wait till January. Hope the situation improves! 🐱
Some of you may remember my posting some years ago about losing our little Jack, Drumstick. Shortly afterwards we rescued Fraggle, who was being passed around in a pub, taken in but not really wanted. Sadly we lost the little man this morning; old age took him. He truly was the sweetest, kindest little dog I have ever come…
