Now here is a proper tale to be told, no April Fool involving a cruise ship just mere Cuckoo power and possibly the longest migration of them all! Not far to go now, keep going! https://www.bto.org/our-science/projects/cuckoo-tracking-project/wilfrid So infrequently heard these days, let’s hope Wilfred makes his call loud…
Announced a couple of days ago this would be a storking good idea I think. Wildlife reintroduction in such a busy UK urban environment is good, they live quite happily alongside ‘us’ in other similar places in Europe. https://www.birdguides.com/news/plan-put-forward-to-release-white-storks-in-london/
Every year I usually get, quite literally, dozens of frogs in my garden pond that arrive late February to early March. The most I have ever counted was 84. This year there have only been about 20 with only 10 lots of spawn and these didn't arrive until 12th March. Whilst I have very mixed feelings about large numbers, it…
It is with sadness and concern that today I heard of that catastrophic collision of those vessels just off Spurn Point. Thankfully it appears no human life was lost but the pollution caused could detrimentally affect the wildlife of the area for many years. This includes the bird colonies at Bempton Cliffs, the…
Rumour has it that they are breeding again in several locations in England, one close to me but is there any evidence of successful fledglings this year? Saw them a couple of years back in Norfolk/Suffolk. Truly beautiful creatures.
The wildlife terrorists are at it again. Releasing Lynx into the wild. We locally will not even enter into any discussion with the so called environmentalists who obviously will stoop to anything to get their own ways. They are causing irreversible damage to any assistance from us land owners.
I think I can guess what will happen to this despicable person. Another atrocity! When will it end? https://www.birdguides.com/news/wiltshire-gamekeeper-charged-in-largest-english-raptor-persecution-cas/ We go out into the countryside to enjoy the great outdoors, what drives them?
Watch this season’s nest action as it happens right now. Let’s hope for another bumper year with lots more fledgling birds taking to our skies.👍 https://www.youtube.com/live/s0liN8AzykQ?si=Sa5RECGCWWF6eLpH
Can any of our photographers recommend a quality monitor. I have decided to return to using a PC with a good monitor as I have been struggling with the iMac. It is so different and I am fed up trying to understand why it does what it does. The iMac picture quality is excellent and I want the same from the PC.
Fabulous piece of news around the Rothbury Estate, which has been purchased by the Wildlife Trust. Not sure if the caravan park mentioned is the one at Nunnykirk, but the only other I know in the area is a group of small private statics not far away. Lots of links online, but here is one…
