Announced a couple of days ago this would be a storking good idea I think. Wildlife reintroduction in such a busy UK urban environment is good, they live quite happily alongside ‘us’ in other similar places in Europe.

Not sure a capital city is the right environment for them myself. The ones we've seen abroad all tend to have access to farm land, on the edge of a village or small town. Plus it's less disruptive for them. As well as that, the locals in France and Germany where I have seen them consider the Stork to be a bringer of good fortune to their community. I would think that Londoners might have a problem in getting their heads around this introduction and I can foresee the Storks having a rough time of it.

Interesting research and resultant report here regarding stork reintroduction into London. We are told they live and breed in towns and cities across Europe so why not here? The working group continues to explore the possibilities.
