He is helping keep the cost for the rest of us by keeping the booking numbers up. I see no problem with the spend and as it is our Golden Wedding next year we will also spend far more on a holiday next year.

Ohhh, I'm not saying anything on that one. It is a can of worms just waiting to explode.I've already had a heated discussion with my 95 year old mother who puts hers in a savings account.

    That's interesting Ian.

I'm not sure what site you're using, or how low the price is to achieve what you posted, but when I added my 'free night' by simply booking an extra day onto an existing booking for November I looked at the prices to see if what you had experienced was replicated.

Yes had I cancelled the booking and rebooked for the same dates the price had indeed gone up - by £1.40!

Which in this case would mean I would still be in pocket by £34.83 (SP price included).

Anyway good to see you're still using club sites.

It does as you say depend on the site you are using and when you booked. The few remaining dates around our up and coming visit to Chatsworth (booking made a year ago) have increased by around £6 /£7. Therefore if booked for a week the free night would just about balance out the cost. Of course in reality you would do as you have and book an extra night if available, as the risk of loosing the booking by cancelling would be too high. Instead we are using ours at half term, taking the granddaughter away for a couple of nights.

Yes we booked ours in September, it's actually for the Jedburgh jail ghost hunt which goes on till 2am! It seemed a good idea when we booked but now with the darker night I'm not so sure!

I too noticed an increase in price for the Troutbeck site between the time that the announcement was made and the start of the booking period of around £1:70 per night. However as we had only intended stopping for a couple of nights it is well worth up taking up the offer there as there are no CLs that offer similar facilities at the price we will pay for a night.

I haven't received anything about a free night stay. Just checked my emails and Junk folder. Nothing

    Best to contact CAMC, perhaps?
