You need to clear the cache on each device for the new picture to appear. When Nellie mentioned the new picture I could only see the old one but clearing the cache will bring up the new one, at least it did on my machine!

Thank you milliehull. Feeling a bit better this morning, but temperature higher! Just managed to tweak my back after my shower. So now got my wheat pad strapped to my back whilst I sit.
Dull and grey here - AGAIN, but not cold and very little breeze. Very grateful for small mercies.
Milliehull I can see your new avatar on my phone most of the time, but not on my tablet. Its really very nice 😀
Was planning on a walk with OH to the village shop if possible. Great little place, like a tardis, and stocks most things, as we need milk. He's not up to 2 walks and don't want to leave dog outside. Hopefully it can work later this afternoon. Son away so can't ask him for delivery 😕. Madam appears quite happy and just resting but ever hopeful of an outing if the sounds and actions could be promising!
Would be a nice day to wander the garden and consider things, but I know I can't be trusted! I've a couple of large potted shrubs that need planting but need to try in a few of positions. Garden help comes Thursday, so really would like to sort before he arrives and has to out up with my dithering! Not quite the same as telling OH 🤣🤣.
We have no crocus, a trip to the garden centre Monday for ones in pots was fruitless, well I didn't like the prices and wasn't impressed on their scarcity! Thought it would be easy to buy some in flower and place at this time of year..... I'll buy bulbs and put in small pots myself for next spring. However, I did purchase a new hellebore, Glenda Rosa, white with pink trim. We brought some with us, white ones and a gorgeous dark one that was a present. We split them before planting but the dark ones don't show up so well 🥲. I really think next year I'll have a couple on the wall to really see their beauty. The snowdrops, we do have lots of varieties, I couldn't grow them in our last garden, are beautiful but they hide their beauty unless you get right down and below them. We have a huge bumble bee by the window I'm glad my Christmas box, smells delicious, and other early plants offer some food.
Right time to slowly potter. Don't tell anyone but I think I can see a postage stamp of blue in the sky. By the time I'd proofread 🤞this the postage stamp turned grey 🥲

david how do I clear the cache?

Depends what you are using. On a Windows system its fairly simple you just press Ctrl+F5 together. I am nor sure on Android or Apples but suspect you have to go into the browser you use and go into settings?

Correct David. I usually clear the cache on my Mac via the browser, but I haven't done that for ages and millie's new avatar turned up the other day without any intervention from me.

Hi Millie. If you are using Safari (Apple) then you should have a top strap line with things like "Edit View History etc." on it. Click on history and clear it all. You may have to put in your details again to login. I've cleared my history (only 2 short days worth) and your new avatar has appeared.
Things moving along slowly here although we seem to get to the end of the day very quickly, if that makes any sense. More scans for MiL next week plus a meeting with staff.
An hour or so sorting out Mrs.WNs car insurance. It seems to confuse insurers and comparison websites if you have a shared email address, shared driving experience and almost similar renewal dates. Hope it all sorts itself out in the wash. ended up paying about 20% more than last year.

I can see your new avatar MH
Horrible day again today, yesterday was lovely and we spent a good few hours in the garden.
Busy today sorting out various electronic devices 😡 why is nothing simple anymore.
Can't get the Chromecast to connect to any of our TV'S.😔
OHs phone will connect to the main TV via Miracast no problem but the 2 traveller TV's we have it won't and neither will the Chromecast. It has to be on the same WiFi network as the phone/laptop but it just won't connect to it.
Oh well we have got round it another way but annoying that it doesn't work. The Fire stick on the other hand is easy and works well with all TVs.
Why are we doing all this, well when we go east this year we will be out of Astra 2 satellite signal. So if we get some bad weather I want to be able to watch a film or something. All sorted now. Good selection of Dvds and portable harddrive+ the Fire stick. Should think that will be enough to keep me happy 😆
Ferry now booked Dover- Calais return. Still not 100% sure where we are going as usual we have several plans but the weather will be our guide.

We are away for the week in the Cotswolds, a beautiful converted milking parlour on a farm just outside Dursley. Although the area is quite close to home we haven't spent a lot of time there recently. Walked from the nearby village of Uley this morning - had forgotten just how steep the hills can be round here!
Stopped for coffee at the Coaley Peak picnic area which has stunning views over the Severn.
Weather has turned quite (very) wet this evening though.

Enjoy your time in the Cotswolds, Moulesy. The weather this morning looks much better then up here.
We woke to a misty drizzly morning which changed to heavy rain around 2:30 this afternoon. We drove up to the NT's Ash Landing carpark, close to the Lake Windermere Ferry, and had a damp walk along by the lake. After lunch we visited Hill Top, Beatrice Potter's cottage at Near Sawrey. We have passed it often but I had never been inside before. Most interesting with very helpful and knowledgeable guides.
Here are a few atmospheric photos across the lake

One of my most favourite places Nellie. We stay in the beautiful B&B next door to Hill Top, we have booked to go there again later this year. Such a lovely little village. Love the little pub there as well. We have a painting in our dining room of the main room at Hill Top, it’s an exact replica of the room, there were no more paintings available of the print run but OH managed to contact the artist and get one from him as a surprise Christmas present some years ago.

....Millie... if you are using android phone, the way I do it is
- Go to Google search engine
- Click in the 3 vertical dots on the top right of the screen.
- Click on 'Clear browsing history' and choose 'More Options'. You can then choose which part of the 'history' you want to clear. Just make sure 'Cached Images and files' has a tick against it..... untick the other options (unless you wish to clear these as well).
- Then tick 'Clear Data' at the bottom of the page.
Each phone may be slightly different, but this is what I do.... Hope this helps....

I love your new avatar Millie😁 lovely and welcoming.
Lovely afternoon tea yesterday, food delicious, great service, fabulous surroundings. Came home to find BIL and his OH were visiting (had parked up at ours to go to Rugby match) so we spent three hours laughing and catching up.
Had hoped to get into garden today, but it’s too damp. So I will finish off a dress I am sorting out for a wedding, and maybe start on the hat I want to wear. Busy, busy……

Just a quick look in before visiting time.
We're the same with the garden Ttda. Sodden. Plenty needs doing as well.
Feel a bit light headed as OH caught me on the hop and sat me down for a hair trim this morning. Is a "Comb-Over" back in fashion yet? Has it ever been in fashion?
Stay safe folks and be nice to each other.

Back home by mid morning after our short, for us, trip away, with the van cleared out by 12:30. At least today has been dry and OH has been able to get 3 rounds of washing, including 4 soaking dog towels, done and dried outside.
Arrived to find two packs of Lasting Power of Attorney forms from the Office of the Public Guardian. Looks as if I shall be busy for a while filling them in!!

Beautiful day here today, spent a good few hours in the front garden raking up leaves, weeding and a bit of pruning. Still got a bit more to do but it's looking better. The crocus and snowdrops were looking good and the bees were loving the crocus.
Went out this afternoon into Perth and had a good walk around the north inch, then a nice drive through old scone and back home by the country roads. What a smashing day, spring is round the corner, maybe 😅

brilliant day yesterday and although we have a red sky just now it looked beautiful over the IOW, much lighter mornings so i can get a pedal in before breakfast

After showers earlier, this afternoon is quite sunny and mild. Have been busy in the garage turning spurtles, DD has sold all the ones she had in stock.
Dentist this morning, 3 fillings to be done next month, will need to sell more spurtles!
We had a visit from DD and family yesterday.......to borrow a car. SIL's car broke down just over 3 weeks back, hole in a pipe somewhere, was eventually collected by garage where it had been booked in anyway for service and MOT the following week, then silence.
No contact from garage, phone calls not returned, then on Friday a call to say a new bushing was required for front suspension, but was unavailable, could take another 2 weeks!! DD is not impressed, the garage was suggested by one of SIL's uncles, they will not be using it again.
He has been using DD's car, and his Dad's car, to get to work, DD has had our newer car for a bit but had returned it last week as it was half term holiday for them all.
SIL's dad needs his car most of this week, so DD now has our Touareg until Thursday. I had just started doing some finishing touches in one of the bathrooms when they arrived, so DD took over helping OH to clean everything. Also got the two of them to carry a heavy table downstairs for me, so another small job dealt with.
Should be able to finish in the upstairs bathroom this week, but still some things to do in our en suite.

I was asked by OH to make sure I woke her up early enough to get her over her early morning blues so I could get her to the hospital for 9am to accompany her mother to the large hospital for a brain scan.
Lying awake at just gone 6.15 and listening to a few birds starting their singing I wondered if she meant this early or if it would be detrimental to my health to "poke the bear". So I left it for another 45 minutes. I think I should have done it earlier but she forgave me.
I was left in charge of a Tesco trolley. Big responsibility. Could I possibly be trusted to actually read the shopping list I'd been given? Or did I trust my memory? I knew the answer when it took me 5 minutes to remember where I'd put the list.
Hope Debsc caravan and site ok. Must be heart in mouth everytime it rains for 2 days running.
Jealous of your day TG

Another fine day, but not quite as good as yesterday, and a bit cooler this evening. I had an appointment with a ENT consultant this morning and the outcome is an MRI scan in a few weeks time, as well as one towards the end of next month! We must work our trips around them, which is a bit of a nuisance, but hey ho, that's the way the cookie crumbles!
WN, hope that the results of your MIL's scan gives you all an indication of the way forward.
Fingers crossed, Debs, that your caravan is safe from the floor water.
Not great service from that garage, Kjell, definitely one to avoid in the future.

We had torrential rain on Saturday night which has left everywhere really difficult for walking. On Sunday we went to the NT house at Newark Park which at least had hard surfaces on most of the estate paths. Today has been drier - Mrs M went home with Lady this morning to do her "reading to dogs" duties at the local primary school and I took Ralph for a stroll ( ) along Cam Long Down and up Cam Peak with far reaching views over the Severn - not quite clear enough to see Sugar Loaf or the Brecon Beacons.
Tonight we've had a beautiful red/purple sky which promises a better day tomorrow, before the next forecast "shower" on Wednesday (aka 9 hours of heavy and persistent rain!) Spring is on the way, apparently!

After pleasantish weather on Saturday we had torrential rain Saturday evening, all night and until mid morning on Sunday which means even more flooding in this area. There seems to be 'water, water everywhere'. I had a pleasant get together with friends over a coffee at a local garden centre this morning while OH did some more tidying up in the garden. Daffs, crocuses and miniature irises now in bloom as well as the hellibores and snowdrops. Unfortunately it is going to get colder at the end of the week. I hope that means it will be drier. It is our wedding anniversary today but as Monday is not the best day to have a meal out we have decided to postpone our celebrations until Sunday and have booked a table at our local Cote Brasserie as they are having a 'Saxaphone Brunch'. Then it will be over to our Son's to celebrate his birthday with the family. It's all go here in February!!
I hope you get good news from your MIL's scan WN.
I hope it dries up a bit for the rest of your and Ralph's trip away moulesy.

What an exhausting weekend! We went down to Southampton on Sunday and stayed overnight as we had a funeral of one of my cousins today in Romsey. On the way down yesterday we encountered some flooded roads which obviously I took very carefully! First main stop was to see my sister in law who has dementia and is in a care home. A better experience than we were expecting. She immediately recognised us and was very pleased to see us. (we weren't quite sure what to expect as we haven't seen her for a couple of years) She seemed to like the staff and they her which was good. Clearly as the conversation went on there was a lot of confusion and she doesn't really understand why she is there! Later in the evening we had a meal with Margaret's sister and brother so good to catch up. The funeral was at midday so we didn't have to rush this morning as we only had a few miles to go. Good to catch up with some other cousins. The cousin that died, Shirley was older than me and I remember her wedding, I was 13 at the time! Trouble is that when you move away from where the bulk of the family live you tend to be remote beyond Christmas cards and the odd letter. It wasn't that many years ago that we would nip down to Southampton, visit several people and make our way home the same day! Just shows we are getting old!

I'm actually feeling better. Improving hampered by tweaking my back 🤐. Not sure if it was flu, had the jab so might have helped. The cough doesn't help the back, which has recently started......
As Milliehull says Monday was very reasonable, by recent standards excellent!, weather 🙂. I was stir crazy, 6 days without a walk! An easier back - aren't wheat bags and long scarfs fantastic? I took Dora for an off-lead walk. I popped her in the car as I didn't want to risk an accidential tweak of the back 😱. Drove and parked. She was great and I managed just under a mile all in, very slowly! She's been great and was so happy. I felt so much better for fresh air. I'm continuing to take it slowly but hoping for something similar today.
We certainly have had a wet few months and I hope everyone is surviving with real issues. DEBSC hopefully the flood subsided before reaching in your caravan. Moulsley you are certainly going to spend as much time cleaning as walking 🤔. Will you finish the week alone or do the reading pair return?
DavidKlyne yes such journeys and trips are surprisingly tiring these days. I also think the traffic and roads play their part too. Glad your sister in law seems well cared for and recognised you. Horrible disease. Sad as the ocassions are it's nice to catch up with family.
Congratulations on your wedding anniversary Milliehull, your lunch celebration sounds nice. Another busy weekend ahead.
KjellNN sounds like things are still keeping you on your toes!
Sadly I'll loose this post if I flick back to read recent posts, so accept I've read everyone's news!
Just heard the latest on Post Office Horizion issues. My mouth opens wider, if that's possible, with every new revelation. It just gets worse and worse. Will we ever get the truth?? Will proper responsibility be accepted?? 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 Those poor individuals and their family and friends. 😪😪😪😪😪. Nothing will give them back what they've lost in so many many ways.

Just a quick look this morning, couldn't get past the server errors last night.
Glad you are feeling a bit better Bakers2 and Happy Anniversary Millie
We had a lovely afternoon on Sunday celebrating our Grand Daughters 2nd birthday 🎂 doesn't time fly?
Must dash, will try and catch up later.

We have also enjoyed an exhausting few days in Scotland with the family. It was my BIL’s 80th birthday on Saturday and we had a lovely family get together to celebrate. There were 17 of us in the house on Saturday and 2 dogs. His sister and husband came up from Dover, his nephew and wife came up from Surrey, ourselves, with his children and grandchildren it was certainly a full house. He enjoyed all the reminiscences and looking through all the old pictures family members had bought with them. As lovely as these events are I’m sure my sister will gratefully accept a really quiet day today.

Just a quick catch up for me as well this morning, best wishes to all around health issues, sad family occasions, birthdays, anniversaries, and fingers crossed re flooding🤞 It’s dried up a bit around here, been very (too) warm for February last few days, but we have some rain forecast.
Sis and me busy, busy up at Mum’s, in between caring duties we are crafting and creating, but also getting me a wedding outfit sorted for end of March. I have been making a plain ish velvet dress look more special with some Guipure lace, got a hat to finish off, while Sis is hand making me a matching bag, something very unusual. Got some “in the green” snowdrops planted for next year, they have come out of gardens at Wentworth, so a bit special to me.
Today, fingers crossed🤞🤞🤞 might finally get my Etsy shop open🥳!

Sorry to read about your exhausting weekend, David, and glad that you sister-in-law is well looked after. I know exactly what you mean about getting tired these says.... I usually feel it particularly on a Friday night... after the usual busy Thursday and Friday. Fortunately, I don't find driving too much of a chore, but the state of our roads really don't help. The trouble is, we spend more time looking out for potholes than we do keeping out eyes on the traffic!!
I do find driving in bright sunlight a bit of a problem - the start of cataracts don't help. They'll have to be done eventually, but the optician tells me they are not bad enough yet! 🙂
Hope to get out in the caravan again soon. We've been out three times since the new year - only for short visits. I fancy a trip down towards Exeter. Our youngest daughter has just moved there from Devizes and has got herself a job as Sous Chef at The Ivy - we really must go and sample the menu! 😀
David
