Yet more server errors this evening trying to access this thread, would you believe!!

Are we now at the point where the site should be taken down for a few days to sort out these situations once and for all?

It is a shabby excuse for a website but I see no point in calling for it to be taken down and sorted when none of us know exactly what the problem is, let alone whether a fix is possible. Goodness knows, it’s had enough downtime already with no noticeable improvement so that wouldn’t appear to be the answer.

We were told some time ago that the software the forum runs on (or sometimes doesn't run on!) is well past it's sell by date. The only real answer is a new forum based on up to date forum software and only linked to the the main website rather than being an integral part of it. This has been so obvious for many years now and one can only conclude that the Club don't see it as a priority otherwise something would have been done about it years ago? Because its such a recurring problem there must be an explanation for the reasons? It would be nice if this was shared with us.
I am not convinced that taking it down will be anymore beneficial than leaving it running and us making the best of it?

I posted somewhere upthread that as we all keep coming back to post so why should the club do anything?
Not defending this disgraceful treatment of a loyal following just stating a question?

It's quite obvious that those at HO don't care a fig about about this forum. They are quite content to let it run like this and if by some good fortune it should occasionally work that's good enough for them. There are now so few regular members if we all stop using the site it is no loss to them as far as they are concerned.

I assume that others had a problem with the website around midday today? For me it just wouldn't connect either on my PC or phone!

Yep, "network connection lost" and then "error 503". Every other website I tried worked fine.
No forum activity shown from 09:45 until a few minutes ago.

Same here. Not sure if it was the whole website.

I got that connection error, but not 503.
Like you only on this site.
You really couldn't make it up.
Not sure if it was the whole of the site.
Thank goodness this team aren't in charge of important websites like banks or taking orders for business 🤬
I only popped on to see what folk up to over my lunch.

Quite frankly it is an embarrassment that a supposed leading leisure business like the CAMC has the worst website of any other leisure industry organisation that I use or access.
How can you allow justify the downtime that constantly plagues this site? The whole site was down earlier as I tried to access various bits of it.
If my car needed such regular "Essential Maintenance" then I'd replace it.

I've had the dreaded server errors again today on the latest activity page.
Seems the website, on the booking side still isn't working glich free! I've reported 2 threads in the vain hope that the "correct team not only will be informed" BUT they can actually fix the bookings...... One to alter a booking and another to make a booking. It isn't just this forum that's affected

Reported yet again B2!!

Four nights of essential maintenance and as of last night my membership card is squished on my profile page and I no longer get any drop downs when I touch on a menu heading such as find a UK campsite.☹️
Edit They seem to have been replaced by pictures, although I’m not sure all the topics previously in the headings are covered. Then suddenly they appeared for a bit. Very strange.

So overall getting better then?

Looks ok on my W11 PC running Firefox although the menu disappears when scrolling to the top. The App on my phone seems to be ok too. As for the site getting better, yes compared to a few days ago but it is still not great. Much slower than most other sites on the web.

Well not a lot appears to have changed following the latest outage, as I am still getting the "server error" message, and have been unable to access the UK Sites section this evening whichever way I try.

However on the plus side, all my bookings have reappeared and the App is now up and running, allowing me to download our new membership cards to my wallet. I suspect as in the past CT won’t be a priority and in my opinion rightly so as the club continues to recover from this attack.

guess we should not complain too much, am surprised the club brought CT back into service as they must get a lot of aggro over poor performance.
have not had server error since the system was brought back on line, I use Firefrox as my browser on an old hp laptop and have done for many years as it seems to be a bit more robust than some, still summer is round the corner so can spend more time outdoors rather than being shut indoors huddled over a laptop wearing my fingers out thankfully they are some of my limbs i have not had replaced.

Same here Hja. The interesting thing is that whilst I can't get into that thread others are clearly able to post. I have tried clearing my cache and a different browser but with no success.
