Millie, good to read that your OH is feeling well enough to go for a walk already.
Much less windy last night and through the day, also not had any rain so far which makes a change. We didn't do much other than walks from the van around the 1.5+ml, dry and clean footpath that there is around the farm's fields.
Wishing everyone has an enjoyable, merry and peaceful Christmas.

Triky
I assume you are at your usual destination, Waverley Park? We enjoyed our stay there a few years ago but just wish it wasn't such a steep climb up to the site from East Cowes!!!
Merry Christmas Everyone

Miserable wet and windy day here, sounds like we are in for more strong winds tomorrow.
We had a successful day, final food pick ups at M&S and Morrisons, both car parks full but stores not that busy. No queues at all for picking up orders. We have ended up organising most of the food as DD has her hands pretty full with looking after the boys.
She did manage to dispatch Daddy and the boys to the library and then to Granny's to give her peace to wrap presents, so when we arrived at 11.50 I was immediately put on wrapping duties, which took us about an hour, then we all had lunch before we went for the Christmas food orders.
Much less traffic about today than yesterday, and shops less crowded. Yesterday I managed to lose OH in Tesco as there were so many people I could not see where she had gone. Neither of us are tall, so seeing each other in a crowd is tricky!
There were indeed quite a few menfolk in the crowds, as mentioned earlier, wandering around with lists and looking a bit lost. I sometimes get handed a short list and get sent across to Lidl for things like milk and orange juice, but anything more than about 6 items needs OH to be present.
On the 25th we will go down to DD's around 10.30, OH has volunteered me to help prepare the vegetables, something which I actually enjoy, and am good at, having learned from my Mother, and while in the army. I used to also cook a bit when I was younger, but leave it to OH these days, preferring to be the kitchen assistant.
We have a "regime" while at home,I do breakfast, we share lunch, OH does dinner, and I do the bedtime drinks. When away in the caravan we do much the same, but I am chief dishwasher. At home OH does the stuff that cannot go in the DW.
Got another letter from the NHS today, this time telling me I had meantime been declared medically unfit for this operation until 14th February, but should be dealt with by 25th April. So they have initially set aside 8 weeks to investigate whatever the ECG has shown. Too much calcium in the blood can affect many organs such as the heart, kidneys and brain, so delaying this operation too long is bad, it is a bit of a vicious circle.
Sounds like Easter holidays may be ruled out, but should hopefully be OK for our Summer trip to Norway.

I have it now tda. Thank you so much.

Morning Everyone
Not been on for a while, thought I'd bob in to say Happy Christmas to all. We're two weeks in of our permitted 90 days here in Spain. Having done quite a few winters here, this winter so far is unseasonably warm. Not complaining though! This year we're in bricks and mortar as it's now so much cheaper than coming over in the van.
We're a bit bah humbug this year so it will be a long walk tomorrow then a barbie followed by probably too much vino. Our neighbours have invited us over for a drink, they're a lovely couple just over from Finland they have a Concorde motorhome but have done the same as us this year so it will be nice to have a chat.
Anyway I hope everyone has a good festive period and that darned rain eases of!
Feliz Navidad
JK

Hi everyone. Just popped in to say a quick Merry Christmas to one and all.... sorry it's a bit early, but today is a bit busy so might not get on later... For anyone who really wants to listen, here is a link to the little Christmas Song I got talked into writing for this year... 😆.... it just makes a bit of a change from 'the usual'... quality isn't brilliant, but it's from what someone recorded on tbeir mobile phone.... only just put it on YouTube for the Singers to have a listen... 😆

After a 4.30 hour drive with with just a short break and really not too much traffic we are here in Watford with all our family. All the frozen food I cooked and brought is now defrosting in the fridge. We were packed to the gunnels, bringing our daughters wheelchair and some of her other stuff as she didn’t have room, so I shared my seat with the turkey in the cool box! 13 of us staying here and for Christmas dinner.
Grandkids all playing games on the tv. I’ve been elected to veg peel later, a nice sitting down job. Thought I’d just escape from the mayhem downstairs to write this. Also we might escape to the local pub for a quick, ‘quiet’ drink later but guessing when they find out a few might be joining us.
So to everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.

Been a busy morning, sorting out tonights dinner. We're having Smoked Haddock fishcakes. I couldn't find my usual GF breadcrumbs (my usual bread not the best for this) so I've resorted to crushing some Doritos. Should add a bit of crunch to the fishcake. Now in the fridge firming up.
We'll have a quiet day. Might chance a walk but very windy here again and quite a lot of tree debris coming down.
Just remember, if you do have a kiss under the Mistletoe please do it responsibly and keep your masks on.🤣 Stay safe whatever you do and enjoy it if you can.

In marks and Spencer today. Well l have to admit my teaching of maths down the years hasn't really improved numeracy, looks like I made it worse.
A merry Christmas again.

Another morning spent visiting Brother in hospital. His son and daughter have been staying with us until Thursday, both got home to Hampshire and tested positive for covid. Fingers crossed we don’t get it.
Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas 🎅

That was lovely David - you are very talented.
A very Merry Christmas to you and to all the regular contributors on here from a very windy Sandringham! Although we had a little flurry of arrivals, yesterday afternoon, there's still only about 30 units on site - so extremely quiet as compared to when we were last here two years ago.
Still, most people have entered into the spirit of things and here's our contribution!
Have a lovely Christmas everyone - from Richard, Ros - and Meg

Had to go up to the van today to collect our veg. steamer for cooking tomorrow’s festive meal. Spent some time checking it out. Had intended to take it for a run but the wind was buffeting it and it was rocking so thought better of that idea, the batteries both registered 12.9 volts so happy with that and a rotation of the tyres would have to do until next trip out a few days after New Year. Spent the afternoon re-silicone sealing the shower cubicle at home. I thought it was only the shower tray needed doing, it didn’t look that bad only the tiniest of black mould showing until I started to remove the beading and saw behind. A can of worms, the whole thing needed doing. I had spoken with a plumber friend who suggested the job really needs doing about every five years as the seal becomes brittle and water gets behind and ours had gone 12 years without being touched. Made we wonder about those seals around the outside of our caravans and motorhomes! Well it’s finished now but I’m as high as a kite from the fumes, I’ll leave the sherry for Santa and MrsFS and I’ll clean up later, may be tomorrow morning. Anyway, have a merry Christmas everyone and don't over indulge! Well, not too much!

Last bit of painting finished this morning, roller blind now back in position.
Bit windy here today but we have seen the sun for a few hours.
Had a visit from next door neighbour, dad and kids doing the rounds of the elderly 😁 we always exchange a small present for the kids. Then our neighbour next door but one came with a gift. Good job I'm all prepared, all wrapped up and waiting for them.
Happy Christmas to all on CT.

After another night of rain we had a day of mixed weather, with rain and winds at times, but did manage most of our walks in the dry. After lunch we had a short trip to Aldi for the odd last bit of food and a fresh loaf, and came away with a lovely piece of Salmon for Boxing Day dinner.
Sorry to hear that your brother is still in hospital, OP. Hope that you and your OH have not contracted Covid.
All the best to everyone.

We've been out with friends and neighbours on the site for a pre Christmas get together and carol session at the local. The place is heaving and the band were very loud so, lightweights that we are, we decided to leave early and come back for a quieter evening, just us and the dogs!
Has anyone else been playing "Whamageddon" - I've managed to get this far without hearing "Last Christmas" once, so feeling rather pleased with myself!
Have to write a plan/timetable for cooking the dinner tomorrow; we're having duck for a change, but with all the traditional trimmings - wish me luck!
Wishing all our friends on CT a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for holidays in 2024 however you accomplish them. 🎅🎄🍻🍷

We have had similar weather to TG, sunny off and on, but very windy. Long time since we have had such strong winds, we have some big trees out back and they were really thrashing around. Seems to have abated now as it has gone quite quiet outside.
We had a marathon present wrapping and tidying up this afternoon, so now more or less sorted for tomorrow, just a small bag to pack as we are staying over at DD's, and our air fryer to take with us to supplement the oven.
Hope you all have a good Christmas!

Yes David ,Waverley" it is !! Agree with you about that return bit ,but i use the 'Smart ' so it 's not a problem, although with two knee replacements (getting near the time limit ) i would'nt fancy it either !!
