Good to read that you now have the Blue Badge for your OH, millie.
Debs pleased to hear your news about both your daughter and granddaughter. Glad you had a nice time away at your caravan.
This afternoon I had a walk around to St Margaret's Church in Paston, past the medieval Great Barn, which is the home for 7 different species of Bats, including the rare Barbastelle Bat. The church, which mostly dates from the 13C, has some very interesting wall paintings and an impressive alabaster tomb of Lady Katherine Paston. The family history is laid out in the Paston Letters which date from the 1400 to 1600s.

I think Tammy Girl mentioned a while back that the husband of a friend of hers who had problems renewing his Blue Badge and was eventually successful had to pay £20 (Scotland). We are just grateful that OH has been successful with his application.

What a day, high winds and lashing it down and to top that we’ve had a power cut since 2pm and repair will be completed by midnight. Apparently a substation suffered a lightening strike
On the plus side got the car serviced including new cam belt and water pump

Another hot day at 29C, a little, well the locals called it rain, but I would call it a dribble,
Some cars from my youth and even one from my father's time - he actually had one a FIAT Topolino.
3 -
And I never realised how small a FIAT 500 actually was! When I had one we would fit in five of us going from Florence to the sea at Viareggio for the day

Enjoying your Italian photos Corners, Italy is top of our must visit bucket list, when we get the chance. Great cars👍
Wet day here as well on and off. My day off, so we didn’t want to waste it, took pooch for a stroll near Wentworth Woodhouse, luckily we all stayed dry and mud free. Then drove to Elsecar Heritage Centre for a look around. Big antiques sales area there, I dropped on some lovely pearls and some turquoise to add to my jewellery making stash for a good price. Back home for a late lunch, did a bit of re arranging of things in our kitchen, now relaxing with stove lit. I think Autumn is knocking on the door……

We managed to miss the rain until late afternoon, although it has been windy but warm for most of the day. Went for a drive down the coast with a couple of walks along the shore at Walcott. Saw these wee things feeding on the sea wall, after the tide had receded this afternoon. Dropped in to have a look at All Saints Church, Walcott with Happisbugh en route to Sea Palling.

Last night's wanderings. From 10pm onwards the main tourist spots are really empty at night but the restaurants are all full!
4 -
If you just wander away from the main tourist spots, which are very crowded, even by a 100m you'll find the streets very quiet and the churches free.
Oh well home tomorrow to my land full of rainy skies and gales.

Oh well home tomorrow to my land full of rainy skies and gales.
Come off it CS, you know that you love those rainy skies and gales.
Had a really lovely 4-5 hours at Frampton Marsh RSPB site today. The car park was a bit full when we arrived. An unusual wader being the main centre of attention. We don't go around chasing these birds, despite which the main hide where it could be "seen" from was packed so that's a no-no with us. We had a coffee and a leisurely stroll and lo and behold the bird had escaped the centre of attention and flew to an area not far from us so it decided to give us a view. Reward comes to those that wait.
A nice, warm day as well.

OH took advantage of a fine forecast to get a round of washing done, which dried nicely outside. Then we had a drive up the coast and had a walk along the cliff top path from Overstrand towards Cromer. We were going to walk along the promenade, but it being near high tide the sea was washing over it and we didn't want a paddle.
I had an afternoon walk from the site to the 14C St Peter & St Paul's Church at Knapton, which has an impressive font and a magnificent medieval double hammerbeam roof, dis-playing inside, on its various parts, no less than 138 subtly painted angels with spread wings.

Yesterday was our annual Organic Inspection by the Soil Association, and Red Tractor Audit. Everything passed OK with no non-conformancies. It's a mixture of physical inspection, question and answer and paperwork and records. This time the Inspector was being "witnessed" by another inspector. Six and a half hours then a sigh of relief. But no time for celebration as husband and son (and family) went Litter Picking at our local showground. Though they did bring home fish and chips.
Today I'm catching up with the real world and paying the monthly bills (and recording them correctly in the accounts programme).
But tomorrow we start to wind down and bring the caravan into the yard to load up for a week (a whole week!) away! Wharfedale campsite near Grassington. We've no plans except to relax. And I have booked Afternoon Tea on a steam train at the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway.

Glad your inspection went well Goldie. We have a trip on E&BA line to use soon.
Annual health check for me this morning, then up to Mum’s.🙂1 -
Bit of a conundrum after I found out that our new lifeboat is arriving on Saturday. Stay and watch Florence arrive in Portsmouth or return home. Return home won so left Poole yesterday morning and now at home. All drone and camera batteries fully charged. Anyone in the vicinity the lifeboat will arrive at the harbours mouth at 1320hrs. Best views will be from the Gorleston side of the river. Fingers crossed for good weather

Had a different sort of walk today as we found a 4 mile walk in and around the town of Boston, so we drove in and found parking.
There were a few places we particularly wanted to visit, Boston Stump being one of them. The locals have renamed St.Botolphs parish church, the largest in England, The Stump. Anyone passing through or nearby will have noticed it sticking up in the Lincolnshire countryside. An impressive structure with the tallest tower of any parish church. The second photo is taken looking up into the tower. John Taverner the C16th. composer is buried there. Apparently during WWII both the British and German bombers used the tower as a navigation aid, hence the Germans being told not to bomb it.
The other 2 photos are of a restored working Mill, quite close to town, and a Masonic Hall built along Egyptian lines with hieroglyphics to be seen on the pillars (you will need to expand to see them).
As you can see the weather was perfect for walking.

One further photo from today. A bit of street architecture using an old Buoy.
Buoys were manufactured locally and there are various ones dotted around town and a couple at Frampton Marsh, yesterdays venue.

After rain last light we had a lovely sunny day. We had to go into North Walsham this morning, firstly for shopping at Lidl then to Boots for our Flu jabs, booked on line. Had a quick look around the parish church with it's unusual tower and font before heading to Bacton Woods for lunch then a walked. Drove past the isolated St Margaret's Church, Witton, one of the few in Norfolk with a round tower. ( There is a bit of a theme here). My afternoon walk took me to the mill at Mundesley.

BLIMEY IT'S COLD HERE! Left Pisa at 6.15pm when it was still 27C and landed at Manchester with a flight time of two hours and 5 minutes (according to the flight crew due to a good tailwind) where it was 11C!!!
Well I have to say Ryanair this trip was spot on with timings and service, maybe because it was operated by Air Malta but well done.
A great trip and more memories made and not to mention over 1500 photographs.
I'll treasure thet photos of the sun, it's seems to be hiding here and the sky looks very low!

Just seen a piece on BBC News Channel with Duncan Kennedy interviewing the couple who own Florence, it was one just before 11.00am today, you could probably find on iPlayer. Just thought I would give you the heads up.

I am double jabbed. Never felt a thing, in and out in three minutes. Nice morning here, but it’s clouded over and temps have plummeted now. I have a hoodie on, but still in shorts😁
