Thanks for the comments robsail and wherenext.... and for the reminder - I'd forgotten it was still on youtube until your comments robsail. A warm evening - and the juniors were bit excitable at tonight's Abbey choir practice as it was the first week back after the summer break. About time for a glass of wine.... 😀😀

Lovely carol, David, what talent you have. Best of luck with your next one.
Sounds like fine day out, WN, I will have to investigate if we can get to there from one of our stops.
Good to hear from you Robsail. Pleased to read that you have been away in your caravan.
We have moved down to Casthorpe House CL near Grantham. The A1 was busy in both directions and very slow going south from Ferrybridge for a few miles, but fine after that. This site is full tonight but this appears not have been the case throughout much of the summer with some weekend being devoid of units. It started off very misty and relatively cool this morning but by the time we got onto the A1 the sun had burnt it off and it has been a hot afternoon. Thankfully it has cooled down again this evening.

That was good David, well done 👍 It did put me in mind of something I happened on during lockdown. Musically quite different, but with the same ethos I think, making music during difficult times…

Far too hot and humid here in Glasgow today, weather man just said we had 29 degrees. Even now at 11pm we still have 32 degrees in the sitting room .........south facing.....lots of glass.......3 fans going. We had mist this morning , but it soon disappeared.
I have spent most of the day at our local Guide Hall, dismantling some wooden stuff we have had stored there for the last 16 odd years, for them to turn into campfire seating. That never happened, and now the basement storage area needs to be cleared out for insulation to be installed soon, so our timber is now destined to be part of the bin store DD is planning to build.
91 pieces about 2.1m long, but only about 50mm wide and 40mm thick. 45 are now down at her house and the other 46 will go on Sunday.
Tomorrow afternoon I am going swimming with DD and the children as Nathan requires full time supervision and Daddy is busy with school related matters.

WN I don't know whether you are still in the area but there is a lovely walk from Ludham Bridge alongside the River Ant to St Benet's Abbey. The Abbey is a ruin now but was once a rich a powerful abbey and there is still quite a bit to see and some information boards.

This is a video of one of the sailing regattas that my late son took part in. I didn't know it was still there.
It was held at Bardowie loch all sailors were disabled, the folk that sailed with a buddy had them there to get out of trouble!
It would have been his birthday tomorrow.

Well Mrs One is off on the 40th Anniversary charity walk this morning. Visiting as many churches as she can. Her plan is to walk from our church and visit 15 other churches in our area, I would imagine she won’t be back much before 6pm 🥾

That's wonderful robsail. What a lovely memory for you. I am sure tomorrow will be a difficult day for you so I wish you all the best.

Worn out now! We were in the pool from 1pm till well after 3pm......no fixed sessions.......and the children had a great time going down the flume (with Mummy and me) and just playing and jumping in. Callum was trying to do real swimming, but Nathan just liked the jumping in.....he is fearless!
Home about 4pm and about to have a snooze before dinner.
Still warm here, but very little sun, and now raining.

It’s been a very hot week here in our caravan, no real shade. Nice to get into the car and turn the air conditioning on. It was so hot one day that OH suggested Gloucester Outlet Centre as we knew it would be cool there. Our house is shady, as is our garden and usually easy to get a sea breeze so we are feeling it here. However, I always wish for sunshine days so really got it this time, quite a surprise. We had a lovely evening at a friends 70th birthday party and we went to the RSC to see Macbeth, which was very good, if a little confusing as Duncan was a Queen, one of the witches was a man - with a beard and Malcolm was played by a woman.
A wander around Kenilworth yesterday, visited the churchyard and got some very good photo close ups of the litchen on the very old gravestones there, I’m afraid I’m a bit of a litchen nerd, often traipsing around various churchyard gravestones looking for unusual types. The Avon had a traffic jam of paddle boards and boats on it today. Stratford was truly packed in the park, but we managed to find a nice spot to set up our chairs in the shade. Friends coming over for a bbq tomorrow so I hope that it is just a little cooler but no rain or thunderstorm.

Hope she managed to complete the walk, OP. It must have been very warm for all taking part.

The warmest day for us for a long while. We did manage a morning walk along by the canal but there isn't a lot of shade and both OH and Flyte don't do not weather. We had booked to go to Belvior House but much too hot to leave Flyte in the car so we gave it a miss.

She did very well, OP. Please congratulate her for us.
It was at least 30 here today, without the benefit of a cooling breeze, being so far inland.

Must need a big aquaroll. Manchester Aspire lounge. Happy landings everyone.

Thanks Millie. We have done it years ago and if the weather wasn't so hot we might have gone today, our last one here. Also a bit lacking in energy so having an easy day today whilst OH does three lots of washing. Might as well whilst we have the sun to dry it.
Yesterday morning we stopped off at Ranworth, mainly to see the Church, en route to our friends house in Norwich. What a memorable church it is. We especially wanted to view the Sarum Antiphoner and the full length Rood Screen. Exceptional in both cases. We were lucky in having a local gentleman guide who told us everything. I think he was glad to use his knowledge on willing listeners.
Rest of day spent with friends. Got back late. Slept well though. Lots leaving this morning.
Best wishes Robsail for today.
Give our congrats to Mrs.One for her achievement yesterday Oneputt.

Thanks for your thoughts for today.
Went up to the boat club nothing much happening as there was no wind whatso ever, the loch was like a mirror but company was good. There were a few folk out on paddleboards, canoes and open water swimming. Came home early before the forecast thunderstorms kicked in.

Good call to not go on the walk today WN as it was a scorcher this morning and I dont seem to remember much, if any, shade on that walk.
I looked at the sky about 3.00pm and remarked to OH that it looked a bit threatening and then the heavens opened and we had thunder, lightening, a gale force wind and torrential rain. It was so sudden we had to rush indoors and didn't have a chance to get the chair cushions in so they are now sopping wet. Our little cat pelted down the garden and came in looking like a drowned rat!
Pleased to hear that you went to the boat club and had some company today robsail.
