French Crit'Air Stickers - help with application
For those of you who have done this can you help please as I've failed at almost the first hurdle:
Trying to apply on the French Gov't web page and after the Country of Registration and Reg number it asks for vehicle category. Well my V5 doesn't have "category" but Type is ATF Variant 1MWA (not an option in French drop down), in the French web page notes it says Category is line "J" on V5 - very helpfully mine is blank !
My original Fiat certificate of conformity says category N2 (Truck), but the Autotrail certificate of conformity says category M1 (which is Passenger Car in French drop down).
Our MH is a 2014 Autotrail Tracker on a Ducato 2.3 diesel, taxed as PHGV (4Tonne MGW). Its Euro 5 but again V5 is blank on that line!
Do I go with the the most recent document which is obviously the Autotrail certificate as M1? (but a MH is clearly not a "Passenger Car")
Confused
thanks

As I recall you must attach a copy of your registration certificate. I think it is this along with the age of the vehicle which determines the category of sticker you get in return. The age seems to take precedence so I don't think it matters too much what you fill in on the application.

The French system puts a limit of 3500 KG as 'car'. So you are correct that it is not M1 in French terms despite your CoC from Autotrail. However, check your max weight for the actual conversion. It may be you are taxed for the original base vehicle capacity. The Autotrail Trackers range were 3500 KG capacity, except the RB, which was 4250. If that is your model, then you will have to declare as N2.
You should be OK for reg number, first registration, carburant. Numero de serie is the VIN from your v5. Marque is Autotrail, Nom commercial is Tracker (+ model designator). Emission de CO2 should be on your V5 as item V.7 expressed in G/KM. Norme EURO, If you know it is Euro5 then put that.
You will then need a scan or photo of your V5, which they will use despite what you fill in anyway.
You should only pay 4.61 Euros on the official site regardless of your eventual rating. Any more will be a scam website, and there are several. Not illegal, they are just charging for a 'service'.
Good luck. Post here if you have problems.

Here is the oficial site - DO NOT USE ANY OTHER LINK - https://www.certificat-air.gouv.fr/
Please everyone be aware that just getting the sticker isn't the end of it. All Crit-Air zones have regulations about which vehicles can enter, and when, and these will be displayed on the overhead gantries or roadside signs, of clean air zones. If you have a 1 or 2 category then you are generally allowed in all the time, but 3 or below and there are often restrictions, so everyone needs to be aware of this. It's not easy, because different zones have different rules, and they can even differ from day to day, on days of still air and high pollution levels.0 -
OK so I have got all the way through to the payment screen (4 times !!) but it just comes up with an error when I press "Payment".
Anyone else had this issue? Is it something to do with the the weight being upgraded from original from factory, therefore putting it in N2 category and French system not recognising this?
Not in a rush as not planning on crossing channel until Sept but any ideas welcome please

OK folks - problem solved! Thank goodness. One to watch for anyone else trying this. It was because Google Chrome is too clever for its own (or our) good. MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON THE EN VERSION OF THE PAGE - small button at the top rhs of page. I wasn't but all looked good because Google Chrome had auto translated the page.............................thanks for all your inputs

Now you've ordered your windscreen sticker, download the mobile 'app'. It shows all zones with the current access restrictions in real time. Search your app library (Play Store or App Store) for Green Zones, you should find it in English - and you can set it to send email news updates, even in English! I wouldn't worry too much for 2023, there is massive cross-border opposition to the scheme and most towns and cities keep putting it off - Germany is contemplating scrapping it altogether.

Which page of V5 do you photocopy. Front cover or Vehicle details?

I've just downloaded this app. I already have a Crit Air yellow 2 sticker and when using the app it tells me I am not valid in any of the zones in the uk...yet the TFL site shows me as valid for the LEZ and all other uk zones. I have a red blob showing on CO2 but don't know how to change this as I'm obviously valid.

Anyone having problems with the France crit air application site. I have completed 1st page added photo jpeg of V5C compressed down to less than 400kb but then I get a load of writing around that area in red saying I need to down load copy of document in specific formats eg jpg less than 2mb and explaining how I can compress if required.when I move on & press the blue continue button at the bottom of the page absolutely nothing happens. I have tried different versions eg pdf all below the required 400kb & I get the same issue all the time. Am I missing something simple or is there a problem with the site atm?
