RK, of course I did, I put it down to the impetuous nature of predictive text on my Kindle.
It has been very wet here all day, with 5 damp walk so far, although we now have a red sky and hopefully the rain has finally stopped in time for our last walk out.

The rain started here in Blackpool in the early hours and has lasted the whole day didn’t get much sleep as the rain battered off the caravan roof all night. Went in to Cleveleys today and darted in and out the shops to avoid the rain. Got fish and chips and atr them in the car looking out to sea. Drive through Blackpool then back to the site still the rain is hammering off the caravan roof although it’s looking more promising for tomorrow.

I rode around Paris on my bike today 😁 Virtually of course. Time trial around Paris with a final sprint up the Champs Elysees, sadly I was unable to get the gutter spot, so had to do the cobbles, but at least I didn’t crash🤣
Weather is foul and getting fouler here, so it’s mainly indoor stuff for us today. OH is off somewhere in attic, pounding away to music, pooch is sleeping off his walkies (he will yawn around 16.50pm and try it on for an early tea😉), I shall be mainly watching end of Tour, and designing some new jewellery shortly.

KJ, what site are they on please. We like Aberdeen but sites can be a bit out of the way with the MH.
We've had a dry day here, forecast said rain but it's been quite nice.
Did a bit of food shopping this morning then a spot of lunch. This afternoon OH carried on with his fence project. I did a bit of putting things away in the MH, deadheaded a couple of rose bushes, then sat down and did somemore crochet work.
After a couple of hard day's in the garden I felt like a rest.
OH experiencing pain again where the tooth was extracted last Wednesday. It was fine until Saturday late on. I think it will be another visit to the dentist, I was surprised he didn't give OH a few days antibiotics to treat the abscess. That was the norm when I was a dental nurse.
Sorry to hear some of you have had heavy rain, especially those away in their vans. Both of our sons now live in Yorkshire they were both complaining that it's not stopped raining all week. Youngest son has a holiday booked to Rhodes in August 🤞 they will be OK to go. Holidays next week are cancelled.
Boiler service tomorrow so better get off to bed the appointment is from 7am to 7pm 😲

Weather here has been pretty good, same in Aberdeen for the holiday makers, though cooler and windier there. Today they have been into Aberdeen to the viewpoint above the harbour, then walked up to Girdle Ness lighthouse. Next stop was the esplanade and lunch then another walk and a look around .
Lots of supply boats etc coming and going, and of course the offshore windfarm hated by Donald Trump. On the way back they visited Duthie Park Winter Gardens, and the playparks for the children, so they must all have been exhausted after that.
Tomorrow they are off to Crathes Castle, weather permitting.

Not too bad a day yesterday - at least it was dry if a bit grey. However it is foul today - heavy rain which looks as though it is set in for the day so indoor jobs today. I think I will sort out some paperwork and do some shredding. What an exciting life!

Thanks Kj, wil look at it. Probably better for caravans rather than MHs but will see what public transport is like.
I remember many years ago stay at a site with my parents, Hazeldean park I think it was called. Time Aberdeen provided somewhere for MHs to park up, it's got a lot to offer shame they are missing out.

My mum went away for a week to stay with my brother "down south", Letchworth actually, so I was asked to feed the budgie, which had belonged to her late neighbour. Like many people, especially elderly ones, my mum was a bit of a hoarder and I spent quite some time trying to find the bird seed which she said was in a Marvel cannister but which Marvel cannister, as she had numerous Marvel cannisters and there was no way of knowing which one it was. I hope that the budgie seed you are looking for KJ, is a bit easier to locate!

Well a couple of weeks ago we did all go to Alton Towers to celebrate one of our granddaughters 18th, her choice. It was very busy with school trips, probably not the best week to go, but the youngsters still loved it. The hotel there was nice and the breakfast very good. We had a lovely evening in the bar to celebrate, all the family together, except for our poorly granddaughter who gets very fatigued and was tired after our day, she had an early night. I think it lived up to the birthday girls expectations. The first day was very wet though.
All fine until just about to leave for home, the others had already left, when our granddaughter suddenly had a very nasty ‘episode’. We managed to keep her out of hospital when we were so very far from home but now she is home she has had to go in twice as it has left her very unwell. She has been like this for 5 years and they still haven’t managed to allocate her a NHS specialist anywhere in the country. We did pay for her to see a private specialist but he has since retired. I am in the process of complaining to PALs and/or the Health Commissioner about her lack of a specialist Dr after so long. Her GP and the hospital Drs admit they don’t have a clue. Although we did once see a Dr in A&E who knew a lot as he said he’d read up on her condition.
She is now back home with her Mum and sisters and we are at the caravan for a short while, we had made arrangements to meet up with friends to celebrate my birthday and we had a lovely evening at my favourite village pub. I brought all very summery clothes with me as it was so hot last time we were here, and it has rained and rained! Should have known it would as it rained on St Swithins Day. Bouncing off the caravan roof as I write. Do feel so very sorry for the people on the Greek islands though.
We paid a visit to Dover’s Hill, amazing view, and worth a visit, good walking country, but it came over with black clouds and chilly, so quickly back to the car. Found a very good farm shop that we will visit again.

After 48 hours of relentless rain - banging on the caravan roof - it's now noticeably quiet. Rain stopped this morning and the sun is shining - what a contrast. Hopefully the waterlogged pitch should dry out a bit. With hindsight - wouldn't have chosen a grass pitch, but the forecasters idea of 'light rain' and mine, are obviously totally different.
Went to Staithes and Runswick Bay this morning but couldn't find anywhere to park - well not near enough for Ros to be able to walk anywhere. With her 'disability' being only temporary (hopefully) she wouldn't qualify for a Blue Badge - so not much we can do about it really. Still the scenery was lovely and the sea at Sandsend was quite dramatic. Had a lovely fresh crab for lunch and there are a pair of Whitby-smoked kippers in the fridge for breakfast

Shopping this morning. Nice bright, sort of early Summer type of day so we got some much needed gardening done. Plenty of Bees and insects on the flowers but not many Butterflies around.

Glad the Alton Towers trip went well Debsc although sorry to hear about your granddaughter. Hope you are enjoying Warwicks despite the weather, my sister and I used to enjoy rolling down parts of Dovers Hill when young, wouldn't do us much good now?!
We have our final canine guest arriving this evening for a week so decided to go out this morning for a jaunt and went over to the Poundbury Garden centre for a coffee and cake etc. Haven't been for several years, when the buildings were on the edge of the windswept Dorest countryside. What a change, totally built up, no views in sight, I blame our present monarch on this "carbuncle" of his own making! I suppose some love it but it's like Kensington in Dorset, don't know what Thomas Hardy would make of it, his old home is nearby. Anyway an interesting morning out.

Know what you mean about Poundbury brue although a little while since we went.
Had a storm in the middle of the night but not as much as much as we thought but better than nothing, much cooler today so OH did a bit of weed cutting with the ride on and I did some pruning of shrubs looks much better then it started to rain again so back inside for tea and coffee. Will miss a dip in pool as a bit chilly now.
Glad the rain has stopped R&R enjoy the rest of your holiday and glad Ros is improving.
Sorry to hear about your G daughter and hopefully she can get things sorted.

Because his golf course looks out to see and he does not find the turbines aesthetically pleasing. When i lived and worked in Aberdeen Mr. Trump had lots of run ins with the local council and the local people, he did have big plans to build a hotel adjacent to the golf course but one old crofter at the time was refusing to budge and would not sell up, but it looks like he did eventually sort something out

That would have been Hazelhead Park, we stayed on the site there once, back in 1998. Long gone.
Lots of MHs parked along the Esplanade, but probably only for the day.
The Deeside place is on the south Deeside road, so I think there may well be busses passing the gate. There were certainly plenty of MHs on site, quite a few foreign ones too.....German.....French.....Dutch.....Swiss.
Aberdeen also has P&R facilities.
We used our bus passes to travel into town from the Stonehaven site, bus terminus is in the centre of Aberdeen, between Union Street and the harbour, so very handy, so we could easily do it from Deeside.
DHP works out less expensive than the Club site in Banchory, where we have stayed several times, even using a serviced pitch, and much closer in. They have mid week offers out of high season by the looks of things....Sundays departing Fridays.....5 nights work out under £150. I expect you can do a shorter stay too.
Last time we were up that way we used a CL outside Banchory......Greenpark. Hard standings and toilets etc. Remote though.

Think everybody must be at the cinema today watching the latest barbie movie, everywhere is so quiet , weather not great, dull, no rain, except maybe over Sandown. Normally these areas in Lee on the Solent would be heaving as it is now school holidays. Did not swim today but did about 15km on my bike.

If Rufs is wondering where everyone is he could try IKEA, very busy today when were were there. Margaret got a couple of small house plants but we are always suspicious of IKEA plants as we have to check they are real! I am sure for years we watered a plastic one! This might be a common problem as I did notice that IKEA are more clearly labelling plants that are artificial
We moved onto to Dobbies to claim my birthday (Thursday) free coffee and a cake as members of the Dobbies Card, I think it costs about £10 a year with free coffee or tea for two each month it pays for itself plus you get a discount on plants which we seem not to resist buying! BTW everyone under five and some older kids were all in the Dobbies soft play area, it was manic!
I have had my new car for nearly two months now so I thought I should fill up with petrol for the first time despite the display saying I still had 172 miles of range left. Only needed 28 litres which worked out at 44 miles to the gallon, or nearly 10 miles to the litre. Don't think I have every owned such an economic car? Most of the journeys have been relatively short as well which does not give the best economy. The model of car I have is available as and HEV, which I have, a PHEV and a full EV. Just found this video on YouTube by What Car where they measured the relative economy of the three types, the HEV came out quite well compared to the other two. I sorted out the paperwork and did the shredding. As it stopped raining for a while OH and I decided to have a potter in the greenhouse and tidy it up a bit. I then drove to the tip with the numerous unwanted plastic pots - a first for me! Son and I took some of them to our local garden centre recycling area last week and it was overflowing.
I know what you mean about parking in Staithes R&R. We had some lovely holidays there a few years ago but even when you rent a cottage there you have to park at the car park at the top apart from when you are unloading and OH cant manage that steep hill anymore with his mobility problems.
brue we went to Poundbury some years ago when we were in the area seeing my cousin. We thought it a very strange rather soulness place.

i have a 2013 Kia Sorento 2.2 ltr diesel, if i fill up with Shell or similar, put on the motorway cruise control 70 Mph she will do 44 MPG, short journeys, as you suggest David, maybe get 38 mpg, if careful, she has 86k on clock, due MOT and big service next month, fingers crossed.

Not a bad day here today what a change in the weather got up this morning to bright sunshine and blue skies so we just relaxed around the van this morning. In the afternoon we took a drive out to Pembertons farm shop to pick up some bits and pieces it’s one of our favourite farm shops recommend to anyone in this area good produce at a reasonable price. Then we took a drive in to Blackpool for had a walk along the shore front and to the end of the north pier where we had a drink listening to the singer they had on. Sea front very busy. Came back to the van and just sat out enjoying the sun so nice after non stop rain al day yesterday.

Glad your granddaughter's 18th birthday trip to Alton Towers went well and that you had a good time, but sorry to read that your other granddaughter has not been well and hope that she gets over this setback soon, Debs. Enjoy your short break away at your caravan.
Shame about the weather and lack of parking at Staithes, R&R. Good to hear that it was brighter and dried today.
We have driven last Poundbury, brue, but have never gone in to visit the place, although I suppose we should next time we are in the area, just to see what it looks like.
Thankfully we have had a fine day, and OH managed to get two loads of washing done and dried outside in the fresh air.

At our last house our doorbell would ring but there would be no-one there. We changed the ring and it still happened. We checked and rechecked in the street, but never could see anyone in the vicinity. Just before we moved we discovered 6 houses up had the same issue. It appears we 'shared' the bell. They had Mr Nobody when we had callers and vice versa.
Ours was a wireless one, is yours?

Don't mention doorbells to me WN!! When we were in our last house - it was a barn conversion and in a courtyard with the other houses around it. I had a newish LR Discovery 3 and one day, it was parked in the courtyard - went to start it and it was completely dead. Tried and tried - all to no avail so called out LR Assist who turned up with a recovery truck to take it away. The driver got it loaded and just thought he'd give it another go - and bingo - it started. Then he took it off the loader and drove it around the courtyard and every time it went in front of the old lady's cottage at the other side of the courtyard, it conked out - absolutely dead again. Bit of investigation revealed that she had just had a £5 wireless doorbell fitted and the button was sticking and the transmissions were killing my LR completely!!! Fortunately, there was the facility to alter the frequency by changing dip switches - so I solved the problem. It shouldn't have happened because doorbells aren't supposed to operate on the same frequency as car remotes - but this one did. I thought it was a bit funny really that a cheap Chinese bit of electronics could completely cream cracker what was a very expensive and sophisticated piece of engineering (supposedly!) Hee hee

In the 1980s my husband worked in Abu Dhabi and brought back one of the very earliest types of "mobile" phones, the type which works off a landline and the handset isn't corded but has to be placed back on the unit after use. Now very common in the UK, but at that time very innovative. It soon became apparent that as with many electrical products bought abroad, it was not very compatible with our UK system as it would phone people up on its own. You would hear the beeps as it called a number, hear it ringing and if you picked up the handset, you could have a conversation with whoever it was that it had phoned up! Seems like it was a little similar to your door bell, but it wasn't a wireless system, more like a party line type problem, but I never found out for sure as I stopped using it

We often have doorbell problems as we have different rings on the front and back and they sometimes confuse themselves or us.
A nice sunny start here, hope it's the same elsewhere.
Nellie if you do get into Poundbury there is plenty of free parking and it's dog friendly. I prefer Dorchester itself, the two places are very different but worth a visit.
Peaceful night with our old original visiting dog, although he can't see very well he knows his way around and is OK with the cat. Daughter and partner off to Scotland with a hired panel van and camping stuff for a week.
Hope you are enjoying your new jewellery project TDA, hope you'll let us see the results! Our local daughter does a lot of painting and she's just won an exhibition prize which was good to hear.
And now for some washing, hoping it will dry and then a walk across the fields!
