Good to hear you had a good week David. You must feel better for it.
I feel I should know that cottage CS. Probably remember it from the loads I looked through last year when we ended up in Ambleside.
Had a relaxing few days, doing the small jobs we made a note to do and usually forget to get around to.
Hope one and all having a good weekend.

Its been quite a busy day here today very warm and sunny. Got the Volvo washed then washed and polished my classic Merc as I’m taking it to a classic car show tomorrow hoping the weather is good too. Caravan still in at dealers the reason the heating and hot water isn’t working is because the fan has packed in they have ordered one from Truma but have no idea how long it will take. We are off on our main summer trip in a couple of weeks so they are going to change the tyres as requested and we will just go on holiday with no hot water not ideal but not a disaster our first couple of caravans many years ago didn’t have hot water. Hoping the part will be in by the time we get back though
Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend

We're just back from our stay in Pembrokeshire. A cottage in the woods near Amroth, no wi-fi or phone reception took a bit of getting used to...how did we manage before?!
I think I over estimated the age of some fossil trees I posted on a photo but they're still a lot older than me. I was ill before we went and wondered if we'd have to cancel so it was a relief to get there and unwind. Turned out to be a very nice and restful holiday. Good to hear other breaks have gone well.
Hope you enjoy your break with or without hot water Francis and you don't have to wait too long for the parts.
Have just lost a post so will see if this goes through ok.
Very warm here. Hoping our son is ok at Glastonbury, he drove down while we were away so we'll miss seeing him.
Our garden is totally overgrown even though we've had some help watering and some clearing up help too. Sub tropical temperatures!!

David I get the condition from time to time, usually when I've been wearing flat shoes like flip flops and slippers.
One of the tips I was given by the Podiatrist was to freeze a bottle of water and use that to roll your foot over, the ice helps to reduce any inflammation. TDAs tip about standing backwards with your toes on the edge of a step and let your heels drop is also very good.

Glad to hear that you had a restful week away, AD. Hope you feel the benefit of your holiday.
Welcome back to the modern world, Brue. Pleased to read that you didn't have to cancel your trip and that you had a very nice stay there.
Sent most of the day in the back garden clearing out the weeds that have invaded the place while we were away. It was nice and warm this morning and slowly warmed up as the day went on. Not quite as clear sky now with a build up of cloud out to the west, but a red sky so hopefully another fine day tomorrow.
There has not been a post for a while from ABM hope that he is ok. Hope that he has not gone the same way as JVB and given up posting altogether.

Busy couple of days since we got back from our trip.
Grass had to be strimmed then cut with mower it was that long. I've managed to tidy up a few of the beds and borders but still got the 2 big ones to do.
Yesterday was last day of term for our 2 grandchildren that board here in Scotland. Last day is always a big parade for the school, the school pipes and drums lead the parade, then the pupils March on in their 'guards' the school 'colours' are also paraded. The school highland dancers and the pipes and drums give a performance prior to the parade. Proud grandparent moment as our grandson now plays snare drum in the band. It was his first big parade. Supper proud of him. Both children got prizes for coming top in some of their subjects.
They no longer have to make the 10 hour drive back down south, their parentsp finally got the keys to their new house last week. Now only have to drive to north Yorkshire.
OH washed the caravan today while I made a start on putting everything away.
Caravan is going up for sale once I've got the inside cleaned. We've decided that the MH is our preferred vehicle for where we go and what we do. Will need to sell off a few other things as well. No need for an awning, wheel clamp, hitch lock, water barrel and waste container etc etc.

Another very hot and bright day here, we've just done a cross country drive to collect our cat from the cattery, he is very well looked after there although sadly the owner is retiring soon.
There are some open gardens in the village today, this time last year it was our turn, happy to sit back and enjoy the efforts of others this time round.
I hope your caravan sale goes well TG and it's nice that you'll still have your van. We will probably only do one more trip in our motorhome and then let our travels in it come to an end. We're gradually getting used to the idea. We've enjoyed all the places we've visited so nice memories and hopefully other things to enjoy on the horizon. I was a little disconcerted today when the cattery owner suggested OH might enjoy a trip watching Jaguars in Brazil (cats not cars! 🐈⬛) Such are the conversations you get into when discussing changes...

Sad to read about you stopping soon Brue but obviously you've talked it through. As you say, nice memories. It's one of the main benefits about the "hobby" as you are left with plenty of memories of places visited, friends made, happy times shared. Dare say you'll be looking at cottages as you still have relatives up in the North East.
Hope yours and Tammygirls' sale and disposal go smoothly.

Surprisingly there is nothing written on the calendar w/c 3rd June - so I have quickly written in "HOLIDAY". Six nights at New England Bay. I know prices have gone up (and I made the mistake at looking at our booking confirmation for last year - ouch!), but for us it is definitely worth it. It's where we want to go and when we can go. If I had got myself sorted sooner we could haved saved a bit with one of the offers, but hey ho, it is what it is.
Having no confidence in the weather I am collecting together DVD's, downloading films to the laptop, and checking what's on my Kindle. And I do need to do a stock check of the drinks cupboard.

A lovely warm morning but some rain this afternoon. So a getting in shape walk up two smallish fells in the morning of Sallows and Sour Howes then a trip to delightful Hawkshead this afternoon to replenish sugar levels and lost electrolytes!

Us too moulesy, we had guns 'n' roses on last night, full blast, the sound system in the rv is immense!, drinks and dancing bit of a late night. I've been round to all the neighbours this morning to apologise as they thought it was a local disco. Other highlights so far, Pretenders, Foo Fighters and Rick Astley.
We're going next year

Just listening to Elton as I type this, and he is going down a storm. Wonder how he has managed to keep this voice while so many of this generations can no longer reach those sort of notes, Rod Stewart and Blondie being good examples.

Got to watch the Pretenders' set but another great performance was Texas!

😀😀 Sound like the strategy I adopt.... I write in holiday at every opportunity. Unfirtunately I do end up deleting it from time to time... I'd like to get up to New England Bay at some stage. Trouble is, it's a bit far for one of our Sunday lunch to Wednesday jaunts. Another place I've got my eye on is Melrose Gibson...

Re Glastonbury, I've no idea what our son was doing but he sent us a photo from the backstage of the Pyramid last night with a complaint about the £10 chips! (I just about got through Elton John, a good farewell concert.)
A nice breezy morning but waking up too early in this bright light so ordered black out linings for bedroom curtains, should have done this ages ago. Guaranteed to bring clouds and showers!
TDA yes we have thought about the van quite a bit. It's still in good condition and we did think of running it "into the ground" but we would have to put up with repairs etc plus all sorts of other things. We quite enjoy the ease of packing for a holiday cottage, OH might not get so much back pain etc etc. Not looking forward to the actual day but others have been there before us.

David - here are a couple of photos of the Omnistor and Veduta. Just put the canopy out yesterday afternoon after we arrived and finished erecting the Veduta, this morning. The dealer has got it right this time and the canopy went out without too much trouble. The roof side beams - which are actually part of the Veduta are quite heavy, though and not that easy to clip into place. My biggest problem was getting the blasted winding handle out after I had finished with it. No amount of twiddling (as per the instructions) would release it until it eventually seemed to come out of its own accord!!
Erecting the Veduta was OK and I won't say any more than that. Probably with it being new, zips were stiff - and they're a lot finer than, say, the Kampa ones - which doesn't make for easy operation. There are a LOT of pegging out points although I'm pleased I bought the Peggy Pegs because that made it a lot easier.
It's a huge awning and well made but because I thought it would make erecting an awning easier than the very heavy Kampa 390 Grande - I'm seriously disappointed - especially considering how much it cost. It's hard work - well for someone of my age and creaky joints As you will see from the photos - I haven't got it perfect by any means but practice should improve things.
Still it's up now - so I can sit back and enjoy it

Not looking forward to the actual day but others have been there before us.
We are one of them too, brue. We sold our caravan in October and actually we didn’t give ourselves too long to think about it because otherwise I knew it would take another age!! Like you we didn’t want the ongoing expense of owning it, we knew there jobs to be done on it and it also needed 4 (twin axle) new tyres. That along with me in particular not really enjoying the process of using it! We haven’t regretted it and we are actually enjoying spending more time at home and getting things done. We have had a lot of days out, a cottage stay, and a hotel for a special occasion recently. Talking of blackout curtains it’s something we will need to do, OH is fed up with waking at 5am!!🥱. I hope your son had a brilliant time at Glastonbury, not my idea of fun really but I can see the enjoyment for some.
