We need a site near Heidelberg for a couple of nights stopover on our way to Austria this summer. Must be dog friendly. Any suggestions or recommendations?

We have also stayed at Campingplatz an der Friedensbrücke a couple of times, most recently in 2016. As WTG says it's a nice trip by boat (which includes going through a lock). You can also go by bus or train if you prefer. I seem to recall there is a small surcharge for riverside pitches. http://www.davidklyne.co.uk/Camping%20Friendensbruke.html

Heidelberg is a lovely City to visit. To get to the Castle there is a funicular railway.

Thanks for the suggestions. We have been to Heidelberg BC (before caravan) so know the city. The stop over is simply because it is half way from Rotterdam to Wolfgangsee!

We stay at camping-Reid to the west of the town centre. Smaller quiet site we have been to 3 times so far over the years.

We don’t cycle! The site is a leisurely walk into the town and is dog friendly. However the vet we use for pet travel paperwork is near the site you use.
