"Apparently our account has been timed out because we haven’t used it for ages, we couldn’t remember the password and we couldn’t change it or have an email sent cos our account was timed out!"

DEBSC - have you thought about using a password manager? I seem to spend ages sorting out friend's computers just because they have forgotten their password for something - or they have written it down and can't remember whether a letter is a "l" or an "L" - for example. "0", "o" and "O"  are other classics. I use one called Dashlane - which seems to be an industry standard and it stores my hundreds of passwords and fills in fields automatically. All I have to do is remember one master password and it does everything for me. It also automatically generates virtually uncrackable passwords at the click of the mouse when setting up new accounts.  The basic version is free (50 passwords) but I pay a small sum every year for the professional version which runs all my passwords on all my devices. It just takes all the grief out of remembering passwords and, of course, is much more secure than keeping them in a 'little black book'.smile

R&R, thanks. Due to my previous job, where I saw crime and fraud everyday for 25 years, I am now paranoid about someone getting into our computer, so nothing is written down. Some of you may even notice that I never even post on here that I am away for a while, even though the house has many cameras when we are not there. That sounds like a good idea and might suit us, I know it sounds silly but what if someone hacked into your password manager? How safe is it? Yes I know, as I said I’m paranoid, I drive my OH mad 😡 But to be honest when you see the scams and crimes and deal with them and some of the perpetrators every day it is worrying and does leave a lasting effect.

Had a charming experience yesterday at the hospital, local community one, where I was having an x-ray on my wrist. Turned up 10 minutes early, was seen quickly and Radiologist said she would fast track results to doctor today instead of normal 2 weeks.

I didn't realise my charm was that effective.🤣 Have to make more use of this Super-Power now that I've discovered it.

Seeing the Physio again on Monday so she will be able to access results. I'll probably be waiting a long time for doctors to get back to me.

Start of our last week in Lanzarote 😞 the weather has been fantastic for the last 2 weeks, in the high 20s every day. Today started off good but clouds have built up in the late afternoon, just as the flights were landing from the UK.

Off out for a meal tonight, we don't eat out every night but tomorrow is St Patrick's day and it is celebrated big style in Playa del Carmen. So we will eat out tonight and eat in Friday and Saturday to avoid the lively celebrations in town 😲

If the weather is to be a bit cooler we might do a few days out in the hire car we have, even though we come every year there is still things we haven't done. Might go to Playa Blanca and get the ferry over to Fuertaventura as a foot passenger. Its the only one of the 4 big canary islands we haven't been to.

The time has flown TammyG, glad you've had a good holiday.

WN you are hopefully onto a winning situation...wink

Nothing doing here, lots of rain, quiet day, made some chicken paprika yesterday which will stretch for tonight's meal. Gathering wits for trip away as I now have to organise the house for family staying here just as we leave. Possibly not the best idea for a relaxing start to our break. frown

Did a bit of family history, can't quite compare it to the "Who Do You Think You Are" episode with Judy Dench, quite amazing connections.

Holidays: so far we have a few days booked in a cottage in The Dales in April,  2 weeks in a static in Norfolk in June and flights booked to stay with the family in N. Ireland in July. 😊 Glad you have a lovely trip away planned Helen. You deserve it after the last year.

A bit of a non event day here. Just a trip to Aldi to do some shopping this morning and I did some clearing out of some of my summer clothes this afternoon. Grey and drizzly here.

Enjoy your last week in Lanzarote TG.

I think this " Charm " thing is spreading, WN  surprised.  I succeeded in proving a couple of Laws Of Nature on Monday and everybody is being ultra kind to me at present { I walked to the Pharmacy on Monday for my months supply of meds and proved that with only one foot on the ground I cannot fly  !!  Furthermore under the same conditions I really don't bounce either  yell. Got to the front of the Q and asked for Meds for A B M and two tissues and a plaster please to stop the blood dripping onto the floor }  Receptionist cleaned my paw and popped the meds into the cleaner sample of my shopping bag and sent me on my way home embarassed.  Went thro my own box of First-aid Bits n Bobs  and, having oodles of time, discovered that even simple plasters for cuts have a use-by date.  So tomorrow I MUST  visit the Boots and re-stock since some of the existing ones have 2006  July  stamped on 'em  £££s I can see disappearing at high speed.

Now Pulleeease look after yourselves  ~~ just use A B M as an 'orrible example

Have you signed up for their Advantage Card, ABM? You might just get a bit of discount using it on your purchases. I signed up today, in case I should need their services when we are away, and managed to download it to my Google wallet too. You can pick up a card in the store too, if that would be easier for you.

Hope you've recover from your fall.

    Brian

I doubt you will come to any harm using an out of date plaster? The best plasters I have come across are called Opsite. They are generally used when people have surgery but they are available in smaller sizes. The seem super adhesive and they are waterproof. You might find them in Boots, probably behind the counter, or online.

A miserable sort of day here, raining all morning, but fortunately it did finally stopped after lunch. Heard tonight on the news that there are still drought condition in the SW, and that the SE will be in a similar position of they don't get lots of rain during the next couple of months. Well they are welcome to all the rain that has been coming our way. Rivers are overflowing and the lakes are very high.

Hope your X-ray shows that your wrist is not broken and that it is healing properly, WN.

Is that biscuit box empty now, tda, or did you manage to leave one of two for your OH?

Dare'nt sign for things these days NTH, in case I drop my pen and fall over when trying to pick it up, even if it's an old, almost empty BIC  !!

At least I'm some use to folk --- went to aged sisters today and she'd dropped her Wedding ring while preparing for the visit of her Hairdresser. The girls 92 and with failing eye-sight just could not find it, so I went crawling and eventually found it but only after sending her mad moggy away ( it was padding aroung me hoping for treats  ! )

A couple of pain-killer tabs at regular intervals h elped my back  sealed

DavidK,  I think the problem with plasters is that the Sterile pad might lose its efficacy when over open cuts etc

DEBSC - you might find this reassuring.  Like you, I am also neurotic about internet safety - for the same reasons as you - and this company, as far as I can see, seem to be the market leaders although there are alternatives around. I have found it particularly useful that 'dark web' monitoring is also included and I have had a couple of reports of instances of my data being found there and it was a simple matter to change passwords - or in one case, delete the account completely since I'd only used it once in the past.

I have no connection with them other than as a satisfied used for the last 10 years or so.

I've only once had a problem with Internet security and our bank was on to it straight away before we noticed as we rarely order a takeaway burger in Hackney!

I've changed the place and type of food to protect the process of discovery. wink

Hope you are recovering from your close inspection of the ground ABM. I cut myself on a tin yesterday and reached for the plasters, haven't had a confrontation with a sharp metal edge for a long time!

Have a good weekend everyone, let's hope for a bit of 🌞

Hope the results on your wrist are good WN. I didnt realise that you had been 'in the wars' recently.

    Nice bright morning here.

Have been in Perth Australia for a week now and  just coming to the end of another 30c day. Off to a local pub tonight for St Patrick's Day drinks.

The temperature is due to be in the high 20's and low 30's until we leave at the end of the month.

Our aged Landrover has gone for it's MOT this morning. We very much doubt it will pass without some work (but we said that last year and it was all OK). Some of the bodywork was proably held on by mud and muck - now washed off.

If it passes we'll raise a glass tonight - and to acknowledge my Irish Great Great Grandmother, born in 1821 in Queen's County. I'm not usually a whiskey drinker, so it will be an Irish Coffee with my husband's Bushmills.

A quick clean of the van this morning, easily done as I Bobby Dazzled it prior to our last trip and with all the rain that we have had it wasn't really dirty, but I do like a clean van!!😄 Lovely sunny afternoon and a lot warmer than of late.
