    I found it…

    https://treglisson.co.uk/prices-and-terms/

Prices are exclusive of VAT and the T&Cs make CAMC's seem favourable 🥺

PS. Here’s another over Helston way. Are you sitting down? 🤣🫢

Not a problem JK. But it would make sense. The CL up the road we used to stay on had a barn disappear down a mineshaft one year, perils of the location😱

Another two sites booked, and no problem with speculative weekend booking.
What a change from last year ,brilliant system should have been done years ago

Keep up the good work, if you carry on like this there won't be any pitches left for the rest of us to book 😀

There are elements of data that can't be stored due to gdpr regs which are available to view pretty much anywhere in the country which any business has to adhere to. The club cannot legally store data like card details for those reasons, that's why you have to input card details every time so how ridiculous and very inconvenient would it be if the club saved you that time and your details were gained by someone illicitly?

I think the date of birth thing is being sorted.

I am not sure that is quite correct.  There are many organisations who do store card details e.g. Sainsburys, and many who ask you if you want your details stored.

Personally, where given the option, I dont allow the company to store my details.  That is my choice.

    Whatever has been said, it

does not make the new system any easier to navigate than the previous one. It was so much easier to see all types of pitches available. However, we are where we are. The club have tried to adapt a ferry/hotel booking system to a campsite booking system. That was never going to work, no matter what the sales people said to  those who bought into this. It was a bad decision, a badly designed system, however we are stuck with it, and the managers who agreed to it going live will never accept that it was anything other than a complete shambles.

What organisation tries it to make more difficult for long time members to make commitments? The serial non arrivals should have been easy to identify and deal with.

Yes, it’s my understanding that data can be stored providing the individual gives permission. I suppose if CAMC doesn’t seek permission then they cannot legally store details so in that respect JK is also correct.

I did mention gdpr regs, no ones obviously not looked into that. Credit card info is completely different to direct debit details. Two different levels of security.

So much splitting hairs on everything, every sentence, every word even that any poster tries with anything remotely positive. How many new posters come and go in a short time. Like many many others, read only here seems better than trying to contribute.

It’s a discussion forum, JK. We discuss and debate. I find it interesting and mind broadening to read differing opinions.

I'm confused, if I make a ferry booking, I pay a deposit on my credit card. Near the time of my sailing date the balance is taken from my CC, I'm not contacted for this balance it happens automatic, so they must store my details.

Doesn't the same now happen when making a site booking, if so then they hold the CC  details.

    Am I missing something here.

If it’s like the C&CC the credit card details are tagged to the booking, they are not held anywhere centrally and when the booking is finalised (after taking the balance) they are Deleted User. I assume it is the third party that takes the initial deposit that looks after the information but could be wrong. It is why, with the C&CC at least, you can’t easily update your credit card details if you change your card. Not tried it yet with CAMC, so no idea if it’s possible.

As a somewhat transient visitor to this discussion forum my personal opinion of the new "improved" booking system is one of utter dissapontment. There is not one single element of the new system that is more user friendly than its predisessor. The inability of the club to establish a late availability list to equal the old system or show booking locations on the upcoming bookings list or even being able to print the list after 6 month is unbelievable. The way that Trust Pilot reviews are requested to fill out the survey to be forwarded to the relevant department without any improvements beggars believe. When will we see genuine improvements to the system and when will members receive a genuine apology from the club leadership ? In any other multi million pound operating heads would roll but all we get is a mention of a few problems in the first 3 days of the system which has now been resolved  !!

Maybe the "discuss and debate" part should alter just a little. How many threads with stacks of Deleted User posts by the same small core of people "discussing and debating". There are times this forum really comes across as unfriendly, I keep saying it but the negativity and that unfriendly feeling really is keeping people away.

In reply to Steve L, no you can't update cards. I have asked about this twice on feedback, there has been no mention of this in the improvements list. This also ties in with the booking confirmation anomaly we mentioned previously, the confirmation  e mail and "my booking" where one says "payment on arrival" and the other says "payment taken before arrival" these are valid financial queries on behalf of all of us.

For me this problem raised itself when my card became out of date and there is a balance payment which will be due soon.

Trust Pilot responses to the New Booking System constantly include apologies and ask members to use the feedback form. There is also an attached note alongside Trust Pilot acknowledging that improvements are still being instigated. However financial issues are, in IMHO, of specific importance and I'm surprised these need to be raised.

Totally agree re the up and coming bookings, you wouldn’t think it a particularly difficult fix.
However, late availability is available, just in a different manner. For an individual site you can just scroll through the calendar, or for an area utilise the map view. The first photo shows availability for this weekend and the second  for one in the middle of March. It doesn’t allow you to select a pitch type, as the old system did, although I found that didn’t always work anyway, so no great loss.

Steve, I think I recall that CAMC have noted that people prefer a straightforward late availability "list" but for reasons unknown to all they have so far only managed to produce a partial list. It will be good to see this issue sorted as people emerge from winter. smile

I recall something similar brue, and they may well produce something along the lines of the old one in the future. However given the time it’s taking to make quite simple changes, it could be a while. My post was just to highlight that late availability info is available in a different manner until that day arrives.

I can’t offer any input re legality but I can offer practical reasoning-I pay for monthly subscriptions to streaming services etc, they take payments every month from my accounts yet they don’t contact me monthly to give my details again but the payments are taken so they must be storing my CCard details🤷🏻‍♂️

Transactions between customers, merchants and banks cost money and require high levels of security. However as far as CAMC is concerned it remains a mystery.

Perhaps the question should be. Do you really want the CAMC storing your data on their system. What would be nice if they could include Apple / Android pay as an option. I could then pay with my fingerprint rather than have to put in card details each time. Quite a few retailers are using it and I much prefer it to other methods as you are not giving your card details out each time. Apple of course already have them but they are hidden from the retailer.

I have used this feedback form 3 times and no changes have been made to improve the system. The club are using members to provide a Beta survey retrospectively - something which allegedly was carried out before the roll out. With regard to late availability the old system which listed all availability in area format was the idea method instead we now have to create our own work around to provide a solution. The revews on Trust Pilot and other forums must be addressed for the good of the membership. After 6 month the current system is still a very poor substitute for its predisessor. I wonder if anyone has been to the Birmingham Show and confronted the people on the CAMC stand ??

Whilst not the same as the old system the maps I included above do show availability in an area format. You can pick which area simply by moving the map. No need to input anything else. If you put in a weekend it will show sites that have availability for the full weekend. If you put in a week it will show sites with availability for that whole week. It is very far from a work around, it’s using the system as it was designed. When a new system is introduced things change and sometimes we have to work in a different way. They may very well bring back the old style of late availability, however I doubt it is high priority, nor should it be in my opinion, there are a lot of more important matters that require addressing. Providing an App that works like an App being one.
