Had a blitz on the loo cassette yesterday. Blasted with the pressure washer and followed up with a limescale treatment. Now looking almost new. 'No shit' as the saying goes.

Not long home after a great weekend at Strathclyde park club site great to be away again after a while of being at home. Yesterday we visited the newly redeveloped David Livingston Museum in Blantyre well worth a visit for anyone in the area all nice and modern displays and very interesting the grounds are good too but we didn’t get a chance to go round them properly as it was raining but we plan to do that next time we are there. New tow car went well think it will suit us fine lots of power and it sits higher than our old V70 even getting used to the gearbox now. Not away next weekend but hopefully get away the following week.

Hope those not feeling too well are improving, I've struggled a bit over the weekend but hoping I can get some sleep tonight (better than watching QVC in the early hours, any port in a storm!)
OH has cut some of the lawns today, just a light walk over, it's picked up a lot of debris. Very dry and some nice sunshine.
Sounds interesting at the revamped David Livingston centre Francis. Will pass on CYs efforts...
I booked two more parts of an August trip, waiting for a response from a CS. Not our usual thing to book anything in August too far from home but have cooked my goose now!

My goodness, this thread beginning to sound like an episode of online Casualty! Best wishes to all under the weather, or the surgeons knife, at the moment.
Spent a large part of my online time seeking out cottages to book for MiLs holidays later this Summer and whilst doing so found a short break for just Mrs WN and self for our anniversary early next month. Not too far away in Llandudno, half way up the Great Orme so that will test my leg strength. Managed, eventually, to find something for the three of us near Ludlow for Summer. Just a week then we'll find something else later in the Summer elsewhere.
I find it frustrating that whilst a lot of the booking companies have a filter for "Groundfloor Accommodation" none of them have a filter for "Walk In Shower" yet they'll include things like Christmas Decorations or Golf Course nearby. Do they not realise that some of their customers will be elderly and unable to climb into baths etc? Rant over.

Luckily no noisy workmen this morning so slow a start to the day.
All washing pegged outside so dry, making the most of the sunshine and no dust ! 😉
Went to check the caravan in storage, all seemed okay. Will need a clean before we head off anywhere, although not sure when, where or if it will be before trip to Scotland in May. 🤔
Glad you enjoyed your break Francis, we nearly booked a stopover at Strathclyde in May.

We like Ludlow as well and there's plenty in the area to entertain MiL. funnily enough we were going to book an apartment (not many steps) sited in a mansion inside Ludlow Castle for her birthday next month but her craft class has arranged a surprise celebration for her and the apartment is booked up after that. She would have been in her element.🍾

Grey day here so just went shopping. Wind has dropped but still a bit chilly.
Hope all those under the weather get better soon. Just heard from a friend of mine that her husband has Covid. They have both managed to avoid it all this time so she is not best pleased. Neither am I as he was with my BIL on Thursday evening at a model railway event. Its the last thing he needs as he has cancer.
Went up to our son's house this afternoon to check out their handiwork. Kitchen looking good, just need to give the house a good clean as it's been empty for years. Window frames, doors and frames all need a good wash down. So that's my job for the next few days. Front and back door getting fitted tomorrow so I'll be working upstairs out of the way and cold.
Next week we are off to Lanzarote for 3 weeks as normal so want to get cleared up before the end of this week. I like to have a quiet week the week we go away.
H&T can't believe your granddaughter is a year old already, time certainly flies.

CY So you're flushed with success!
Yesterday there was a work party at the sailing club, it was very misty and wet underfoot. A group of us were cutting back bushes that had grown over lockdown.
The garden was still wet so nowt done in that sphere.
Next week is going to be hard, (the anniversary of my OH passing) in addition to the MOT on the car.

Yesterday looked grey over the hills so we headed out to the coast. Visited a town associated with the Romans and also LS Lowrey. We had a morning walk along the prom renovated 50 yrs ago and an afternoon walk around a 300 yr old harbour. The photo below is entitled "A Fishy Tale" which should give a clue to the town's identity.
Today we had a couple of walks along by the side of Crummock Water from the NT car park at Lanthwaite Wood.

Strathclyde Park is a good site Helen we use it on a regular basis as it’s one of our weekend haunts being only an hours tow from home we also use it for one night stop overs on our way south as we can leave home late afternoon get Glasgow out of the way then straight on to the motorway next morning. There is some road noise but it it doesn’t bother us and if you park at the far side of the site it’s not bad. A great site either for a stop over or a few days as there is plenty to do nearby

eM your compost area looks good sort of compost area I like, we have 3 plastic compost bins as supplied by our local waste disposable company very good and much stronger than what you can buy we do have to pay for them 20 euros each but well worth it, if we have an open compost bin here which I have had years ago the local Cockchafer beetle (May bug) lay her eggs in it and then you have about 500 plus large white grubs all through the compost yuck hence the bins, there is talk that people will have to have one or there will be a communal one possibly this year or next.
A lovely sunny morning here after a frost, washing nearly done to go out then some gardening to do and a few other chores, OH has sorted the computer issues out for a friend but could not retrieve her old photos gone for good and now she has spoken to another friend and he has emailed to say could you sort my computer out and he is in his eighties as he said and not at all tech minded so a trip out tomorrow for him.

Pallets are useful, we have only just replaced some fencing and a tall gate made a long time ago from pallets (and they looked OK too.) Need to do some compost bins, yours look good Colin, you have been busy!

Spoke to son and grandson who are on a half term break on Jersey, where it looks sunny but windswept, off to the old fish market today.
All fixed for our Aug trip north, heard promptly from a CS so final piece in place.

Another crazy day in paradise. At the start of week 8 😃. Set to be worse tomorrow 😉
IF the additional slabs requested Friday arrive1st thing the back and side patio would be complete finished. They arrived about 3pm. All laid now. Few more bits tomorrow before it's complete. Then they start on the final bit, an extension to the block paving. Lovely work but company organisation skills lacking. Glad we've got a fixed price.
Ensuite ceiling removed, messy but not too bad. Saw our window disappear down the drive. New one almost installed as I type. That was to be tomorrow's job.
Tomorrow garden help arrives, luckily ?? we have at least one area he can work. Now heard plasterer coming to do ensuite ceiling. Window fitters will crack on and hard landscaping should continue. Have to apologise to rest of the cul du sac that well be monopolising the close parking!
Just updated my Samsung Web access - no.improvement on use!

Our workmen were back in the street nice and early this morning so lots of dust and noise again, cheekily asked if they would wash the car when they finish. 🤣🤣
Weather was gorgeous today sunny and actually felt warm. Not too much to do at work got ahead of myself for the week. 🙂
Youngest son messaged to say the electrician had almost finished in their new kitchen, so they will finally have a usable kitchen after several weeks work.

Spent yesterday re-grouting part of DD's en suite shower after she had removed the old, mouldy grout. Not sure how they managed to get it into such a state!
What do you all recommend for keeping grout clean in a shower?
At present her OH is getting the blame, apparently he loves long hot showers, but never dries up afterwards. Sounds like he can expect a lecture soon!!
Edging closer to having our 2 new bathrooms 100% finished.
Counter tops in bathroom 2 now ready to fit and seal around, hopefully today, then it just needs a good clean before use, and all the towels etc etc replaced in the cupboards.
Bathroom 1 has been waiting for new door facings for over a year, the original mahogany ones cracked when removed and nowhere local had anything similar. While tidying in the garage recently I realised I had some mahogany T&G left from lining a ceiling some 15 years back, and it was just wide enough to make into the width and profile required, so finally got them shaped, oiled and fitted 2 days ago.
Now need to finish applying all the silicone sealant on the tile to ceiling/cupboards/flooring/door facings joints............not my favourite job, and there are a lot of joints 😟

I use a mould spray KJ, basically it's a strong bleach but does the trick. It needs good ventilation, not good to breathe in but it works, for a while.
I'm at home with three dogs, OH has taken a friend with a broken arm out for a drive, every other person round here seems to be coughing, cabin fever is setting in although I managed a short walk yesterday.

My keyring thermometer in the shade is showing 28C. In the windy (trade winds) beach it was 24C!
Oh well back to sleep.

What a lovely day today turned out to be.
Weather was kind with a hazy sun, light winds and nothing planned so we took ourselves off to Burton Mere RSPB reserve about 20 minute drive away. It's flattish so I walked around without the aid of my stick.
We were passed on a boardwalk by a father and 2 young children. The older boy told his younger sister to move over as "we've got to let the old people get past us". Well that certainly made dad blush and us laugh and also put us in our place.
Called in at M&S at the Outlet Village for some easy food for tonight. Not long after leaving and setting off after turning at 3 roundabout we were flashed by a white van behind us on a number of occasions. We pulled over as soon as it was safe to do so and he promptly handed us our mobile phone from the roof of the car!
This was about a mile from setting off. Phew, particularly as it was me that left it there.3 -
According to my walking App on my phone, installed in April 2020, it tells me I have walked 500 miles. To get to the next milestone I have to walk 500 more! Seriously I have to walk another 760 miles for it to be the equivalent of walking to the Sahara! I am not sure, with my hip and knee problems whether walking more is helping or hindering. I hope it's the former!
