Is it possible to amend a booking date online? I just need to shorten a break by one day.

Anyone done a Basket booking for next year(took 4hrs).I then had to phone to ask WHY the deposit I'd paid over £200 hadn't been taken off each individual booking?. Operator said I'll ask my supervisor 10mins later she was back on phone "Have you got a pen? These are the individual Site fees you will pay,, we've worked it out for you!!" It's a glitch in the new system?Booked 2 sites with C/C Club, Seconds latter email arrived showing total and amount to pay with deposit off. Perhaps our IT department should contact theirs re GLITCH'S on a new system we've waited some time for.x

1). The spyglass is not where you say it is.

    2) How does the system know that any particular sites are full, when I have not yet entered any arrival or departure dates?

3). none of the information you say is there, is actually there.

Please note.  I do not take my home pc with me on tour and I doubt anyone else does either.

Why can you not accept that the club has made some serious errors?

Unless the Club have a long term aim of members being able to book CL's via the booking website, currently most unlikely, I wonder if there would be any value to users to have separate Apps for main club sites and CL's? I would have thought that would allow a lot more flexibility in the way the app was designed to make it more user friendly? Just a thought.

Can you really see the "Club" introducing a specific app for CLs? Even if they did, with the one now in place that is so c**p, would it be any better? I very much doubt it, in both respects, in that they are not really interested in CLs and their performance so far on both the app and the new booking site leave a very lot to be desired. Another thing, would they even announce its  arrival, should it ever come into existence, as by last performances they have been noticeable by their silence.

The Club can’t get involved in CL bookings, beyond assisting checking Membership details. Every CL is individual, and operates individually. One or two we use, the owners possibly don’t even own a mobile, let alone a ruddy website! But they are lovely CLs nonetheless.

I agree, CLs are totally separate from the main CAMC website/bookings.  I still can't see how they have been incorporated into the main booking system, apart from the obvious fact that CAMC isn't interested in CLs in the first place.  They need to be booked with the CL itself, not via the main booking system.

It is possible to have a good system for CLs, the C&CC do it for CS sites. They run an easy filter system on camp site searches, select CS sites, no map needed, put in a town or county and the CS sites appear with details, prices and links.

So far CAMC have made CL searches hard work with a poor index and missing details.

As it’s raining rather heavily at the moment and I am confined the van☹️ I thought I’d have a look at my future bookings made under the old system. I checked them against the confirmation emails and the prices tallied. Out of interest I checked out some of the same sites / dates on the new booking system and found them £2.50 / £3.00 a night more. Indeed the one that I added dates to under the new system, as it was part in May and part June, had all been recalculated at the new price. Hopefully for the rest, the prices showing in my bookings will not be increased, although I have no great faith that will be the case.

Indeed it is a bit sneaky. Although  I don’t think they can be considered excessive. I looked at the same 4 days we booked at Cirencester in October 2021 and these had increased 3.8% to this year and currently another 6.8% to 2023. Given the rate of inflation that scale of price rises seems reasonable.

Could the increase be because hard standings are now £1 more?

That may well come into it, as I had booked hardstandings, but it is only supposed to be a pound. So the £2.50 / £3.00 increase on my pre new system bookings is still an unannounced increase of £1.50 to £2.

Could it be MWD Steve? That’s another little communicated discount that has disappeared.

I admire the stoicism of some on here, (general term “some”) who happily seem to swallow whatever increases the Club applies to their nightly fee. Dedication indeed.

The booking I made for this year prior to the new system starting has remained the same price, I would imagine forward bookings for 2023 will have extras like hardstanding charges and general increases. I think if you read the T&Cs price increases are likely to appear without notice. (Just like our food bills ha ha, butter's gone up again! frown)

It isn't just CMHC sites though is it?  Someone was reviewing a very nice CL only the other day and I notice that the price  goes up from £20 to £25 from the start of next year and I have noticed other CLs prices are going up as well and I envisage that many commercial sites will put up their prices for next year. Realistically, we couldn't really expect anything else.

Some sites are turning to electricity metering, which at lease gives you options. Heating/hot water on gas is probably cheaper than the high rates of electricity some sites are now having to pay (depending on when their contracts change)

    Nellie

I was trying to put forward a positive way forward. It seems that having both Club sites and CL's combined in the same system causes more issues than it solves. I would have thought it quite easy (by those that do such things) to create a CL specific App. You wouldn't need the booking aspect as you have to book direct which would free up a lot of the detail. Tell me differently but the old App seemed to work OK? I imagine the same people that wrote that would also write the new App but without the difficulties associated with the booking system. So why shouldn't a stand alone CL App for be perfectly feasible?

Why is the new app so bad? It’s the most infuriating app that I have ever used, why don’t we just scrap it and get someone to reinstate the old and then ask the members what they need. It used to be a members club not the corporate body i5 has now become, don’t members count any more. Just tried to book a club site for 3 nights and found I was booked for 2 because the Saturday was fully booked, at least with the old app yo7 could tell what was full,
