If you can post on a forum you have computer skills JV, the rest will follow-it ain’t rocket science👍🏻

A chance? It has been a disaster since release after years design? And many it seems false starts and then being released with out first any communication
Even Microsoft cannot get it right, witness all the updates and their evolution. Window 7, 8 10 and now 11 with 12 on the horizon. Systems don't stand still they evolve striving to be better.

Writing on a forum is even from your planet? not the same as it needs to attempt as noted by the amount of negative posts on here about the very poor replacement for a system that was very much better than this debacle of a replacement

If you want to get away on a late availability, say within 2 or 3 hours of home then that can encompass a large chunk of the UK.
The Club has previously made much of late availability, but it seems the new site is not as flexible as the old. I can search availability at a particular site but there must be a lot of members who don’t have a particular sit in mind, they are just more interested in getting away.
And on the off chance that any one in the decision making echelons of the Club reads any of these posts, I will again mention the appalling way on which CLs have been treated, especially as the purposes for changing the site were all to do with Club sites.
I find it interesting that CL owners are very quite on this forum at present, given we usually hear from a few of them from time to time. I hope they are in communication with HQ and getting things sorted.

Out of interest, have you used it to actually make a booking, JV?🤔

With late availability I'm sure some will want to look up a month at a time and would expect to see the available days not that the site is unavailable! When looking for late availability I would expect to see just that. You should be able to browse at least a month ahead.

The new system is really appalling, after all the waiting this is the replacement for a system that was so user friendly and quick, of course we can use use work arounds and get what we want but it does not excuse the club from this complete disaster.

I wonder if "late availability" was more prominent on the old system because there was more last minute cancellations? One of the reasons for changing to a deposit system was the prevent so many last minute cancellations so perhaps the Club feel there is not the need to give it the same emphasis?
On the point of searching for sites and CL's it does seem to have lost the simplicity of the old system and I wonder how amenable the Club will be to tweaking the new site to restore some of the past simplicity?
Many of the CL owners who contribute here are also part of Ted's separate CL booking website so I imagine they won't be as concerned as those CL owners who just rely on the Club site.

I am just pondering on CLs not having to go through the Club for certification, but still being under an umbrella organisation that certificates, promotes, has a decent website and booking app…………..

I am struggling to see what all the fuss is about system seems to work perfectly acceptable to me

I would suggest that approximately 80% of posts on here are of a negative nature regarding the new system. Are they all wrong in their views ? What we need is a Snagging List to address members issues and product a system that is fit for purpose and works for all

Booked Clubfest at Killamrash Hall 2023 managed to book on new system and had to re-register then no problems apart from not yet showing on my profile page, this maybe a teething problem !! No doubt this will be addressed in near future.

Gosh - that was fun - NOT. I don't think I am booked in correctly but it will all come out in the wash. My comment is that, as someone happily tecchie, I do think for those who are worried by such things, the new system is going to cause almightly problems. There are always unforseen errors no matter how much testing is done but, in this case, I think a rollback is called for until the many issues can be ironed out.
PS - were some members asked to take place in trials for the new system? I wonder if so why it didn't throw up the current issues?

I wasn’t saying it wasn’t possible to browse. If you are just interested in one site it works well. However, I do want to be imprecise. Possibly somewhere in the Peak District for a few days, say in the next week, any 3 days will do, we are not fixated on a particular 3. On the old system that was a matter of a couple of minutes to check. Now you have to go into each site if it says full.
I certainly have no sour grapes about deposits ( although I think loosing their USP a big mistake) I also have no problem with change, or technological advancement. However, when change replaces something that worked very well, with something that is most definitely inferior, I do have a problem.
The rest of the new booking system will in time work well, just a shame it wasn’t better tested before launch. Particularly into how it worked on different platforms. I think perhaps they tested a lot on Apple devices as I don’t seem to be getting the issues associated with Android or Windows.3 -
The user interface is rubbish - 1star rating
When I've found the site I want and read what facilities it has and what's nearby etc I click the "Book Pitch" button only to get more information on facilities, location etc.
I then click "Book Now" and I'm being asked for party members, outfit information etc when all I want to see is what pitch types are available on which dates just like it used to be on the old system.
The late availability screen is just as bad - it used to be great, easy to see what was available
Whoever designed this has tried to make it flashy for the sake of it and in doing so has made it less user friendly.
Bring back the old system!

I don't think they are wrong but probably reflect people having difficulties with the new system compared to the simplicity of the old?
It probably would be a good idea to have a thread where suggested improvements/tweaks could be made to make the new website a bit more user friendly.

Having had a look at the youtube on how to book a site ok but how do you look for reviews of sites that you may want to book for next year also having to put date of birth for the booking system not keen on that so OH said make one up.
Perhaps Rowena can let us know re site reviews.

I have just booked 2 nights at Burrs. I am using a desktop computer and an old version of Windows and did not have any problems accessing the booking area, except that it assumed that I was booking a pitch plus 2 people, not a pitch and one person so I had to change it. I much preferred knowing beforehand what dates were already taken, instead of having to fiddle about to find that only 2 nights were available of the ones I wanted. The cost was £42.40 but the deposit was £25.00! I thought that the deposit was a quarter of the total charge.

You can start it, Wedgy.
A poster started one about the revamped forum some years ago and it ran and ran.

Little point unless the powers that be commit to spending more money to change the system again.
As with lots of things these days, if it works in a fashion then it's deemed as good enough because "It works doesn't it?"
Unfortunately I don't buy that and if I do a job I like it done properly
