    I don’t think that will be right Rocky to be honest, it’s probably a programming glitch. Never come across a non Member on a CL, but then who knows🤷‍♀️

    I think CL owners would need to be consulted as to which way they would want to go in terms of anyone and everyone. Having used many ex CLs now gone private, most if not all have expanded above the 5 pitch layout. We are happy to use such sites, likewise those CLs that have a private site adjacent.

    If they do intend to allow CLs to have non members then I can foresee quite a lot of current members  not renewing membership as this what would be the point if you never visit club sites? 

    Club would lose a lot of membership income so would be shooting themselves in the foot. Then again....🤔

    So, managed to book a week in Cayton Village for next Aug but can't say the process is intuitive.... but wasn't placed in a queue wink

    2 adults (members) but it wanted DOB of 2nd person, it took a deposit, 1 only thus far & I received a confirmation email....

    I didn't get the option to pay on arrival as per T & C's (see text below copied from email) as things will change as I will probably have grandchildren with.....

    (As per your instructions, the balance payment for each stay will be debited the night before your arrival from your payment card ....)

    It says you can check your bookings in 'My Bookings' but this still doesn't work on the website from the Homepage or My Profile link.... however it does take you there once you have made the transaction but I can't get back to it after..... it does work on the App.

    However, it shows under 'Payment is due for your holiday', your next payment is due on 29th April 2026 surprised, it shows on both website & app.......

    Does this mean the club are offering installment plans laughing

    I can only tell you what I believe re CL’s. I am certainly not a CAMC apologist or fan, in fact I’m the opposite🤷🏻‍♂️

    I have, & I’ve used CL’s as a non member too. I accept that the ones I used I was never the 5th person always the 1-2 or 3rd. No doubt I was allowed on the CL purely for money/survival. I never understood why CAMC never really promoted CL’s but made rules to stop them making money🤷🏻‍♂️🙄

    I think the fact Non members can use CLs is one of the many errors in the new system. If it is not then they could lose quite a few members as I believe a survey flaged up quite a few only ever or mainly use CLs. (22 percent) Why pay £56 per year if you do not need to.

    Agree, why be a member if you can still us CLs as non member. 

    If all those that say they are leaving and going to the other club do so, then they will encounter the same problem that they 'claimed' they had with this club ie. not being able to get a pitch at the weekends. 

    This should all settle down when the club have had time to deal with all the inconsistencies and misinformation. Yes it should have been tested better before being launched and they shouldn't have cut off  being able to book for next year, that has just added to the problems with the new site. They were holding back so they could get more coffers into the bank with taking deposits. Unfortunately its probably back fired on them as so many members are so fed up with the system they have gone elsewhere.

    And so it goes on .one or two members appear to support the change , do they have links to management by any chance ?

    Except those members  , there is complete and universal objection to the changes , a simple saying from my work days “ if it aint  broke , don’t fix it “ Club management NEEDS to listen to members , it was not broke and did not need fixing . Is the club management actually reading this thread ? their silence is deafening.

    Some advice when searching/browsing for a CL and looking at the reviews. With advice from another member the best way is to use Google. Type in CAMC - a location and other info such as hook-ups, hardstandings and reviews.  This gets you into a list of CL's in the search area chosen.  Do not bother with going to the Caravan Club portal as you will NOT be shown a to a list of potential CL's.

    That is incorrect, try clicking on "Show Certificated Location" before you search in the "Book a campsite".

    Absolutely right, in my case though it wouldn't just be Membership.  I would move my insurance, red pennant etc, that would be several hundred pounds a year

    There are two members on this site who are going today and both have said the new booking system is the last straw for them and they will not be renewing their membership with this club 🤔🙄

    When I said you are just saying that they both said we have been members for many years but we joined the Camping Club last year and they are still member orientated where this club is just after money and seems is now run by those who have no idea of the Ethos of this club,🙄

    what have they done to our club web page. obviously who ever designed it will not be using it. there is more space for member details than campsites. No prices on CL’s.  We have been members for 33yrs and this is the worst mess we’ve seen  Lets hope they never go digital only, we’d be completely lost without the books

    Interesting review on Trustpilot. Member booked a site on 12th Sept to arrive on 21st. Meantime, has had an accident, cancelled visit, but says he has lost deposit, as new 21 day period is in use. We cannot know if Club are applying “individual compassionate circumstances” of course. But it’s a foretaste of what might happen.

    That doesn’t carry any weight JV. I know of 4 regular contributors on CT that said they weren’t going to renew in disgust at the name change-they never dropped their membership. What folk say & do can be worlds apart.

    The slippery slope began when the club altered the magazine layout and style so I stopped reading it (yes old news). At the time many people spoke on the forum saying the same thing. How about not printing it and the money's saved was spent on a decent web designer who understands members needs.

    I so agree but then I have just come back from doing the washing up and the conversations were very much the same ,how many will not renew, it is not helpful when the bar and restaurant are closed here through lack of staff and no reductions in site fees🤔  ,and we  would be the same but our  membership is different now we are life members 😉👍

    when it was first mooted about cancelling within the 21day period it was said there would be a "dedicated team?"who would consider instances like sickness for refunds of the deposit

    •  As it seems with a lot Marketing speak these days it was said to make a better case for implementing the latest system  !? It seems to have been buried with the last system that worked for the members instead of just IT nerds as the latest🤔

    You could stop giving them your business by not using their sites, JV, or even revoke your life membership. You still have the power to vote with your wheels.👍

    We have bookings with this club untill January 2023 Then it will change unless they have a site where we need to be 

    Ps and we are in pocket now👍
