    Yes you are right ✅️

    I can't stop the urge to speak my mind when I read some of the ridiculous posts on here. I just sincerely hope the club gets its act together and rectifies the irregularities on the new system. I have just attempted to find some kind of late availability search but to no avail.

    This very idea has been discussed many times over the last 2/3 years. Clearly the club felt that would not be sufficient disincentive? The problem the Club seemed to be addressing was the problems people were experiencing in trying to book because under the old system many were clearly booking "just in case". Moving  it from 72 hours to 21 days would only help those wishing to book fairly late on. I suspect the Club felt that asking for a deposit was likely to discourage those that book speculatively? The jury is still out on whether that will prove successful?

    Now how they have gone about it with the systems employed has yet to be proved a success?

    my Virgin Money account people have recovered the excess deposit, thanks for asking.

    I’d like to ask why 60% of the screen is taken up by the map search , why can’t you close this if you don’t want to use that method. Also preferred the previous position where you could look at a site see vacant dates and book if they suited. Keep putting dates in and being shown not available is frustrating, can the previous method not be used in this system

    Think I've cracked it....on the green entry screen do the following:

    -radio button for search by campsite

    -put in the site you want

    - don't put any dates in and click search

    -on the left hand bar click book now

    - put in your adults and car & van details

    -scroll down for the calendar

    it's not very bright but you can click on the right arrow to move through the months and if there's a price that means available (sometimes has low in the box) if there's no price it means full.  The old colour coding has gone, perhaps they might bring this back??

    When you settle on the available dates scroll back up and enter the dates in the boxes, then continue to get to the deposit screen.  Fingers crossed this works for you - I'm on a PC atm.

    Still Can't Access My Bookings on my desktop using windows 11

    Can view My Bookings on my iPhone after several attempts at entering my log in details.

    Can't view my card on my phone. I'm advised that I must join the club to view my card.

    The "tick box" to remember my details doesn't understand what remember my details actually means.

    Tried to amend a booking I made which apparently is possible to do but doesn't in fact work as I tried to select a pitch near the toilet block as my wife has mobility issues. I can press the amend stay button select the section for requesting near the toilet block but there is no method to save my changes. If you press continue after making the change it takes you back to the payment page and the only way to exit that is to exit without saving the actual changes made.  That was my mistake as I didn't notice that I can now select it at the time of booking.

    Not sure what you mean by "two separate systems, which are totally independent to one another" as the old systen already had a cancellation time in place, it would only need tweaking to extend it. The deposit would be the only addition which is a change to the script.
    If both a cancellation time and a deposit system can work side by side on the new website it would certainly have been possible for it to work on the old website.

    Probably different depending on device, as many things seem to be. On my iPad its about half, but can be expanded to full screen by touching the little arrow. On an iPad size screen it seems to work well enough.

    Once you have selected a site and picked a pitch type, you can scroll through the calendar without the need to put dates in. A price shows available, no price not available. Admittedly it could be clearer with the use of some colour or the words full.

    Yes you can extend the map to full screen, but can you extend the left hand side of the page, and get rid of the map?🤔 I think that is what A&J might prefer🤷‍♀️

    I think what many are missing are links to reviews for all types of sites. There are pdf links to site plans etc but nothing else. Are they in the pipeline, we've no information about this "experience" which we've been told isn't complete.

    Brue, it’s easy to get site reviews.  Use Google. 

    For Club site Google CAMC plus name of site -for example CAMC Chatsworth. 

    For CLs Google CAMC Plus name of nearest town - for example CAMC Liskeard

    Regarding payments. I think you'll find that the agreements regarding money form part of your booking contract, this is why you tick the terms and conditions box in order to proceed. Either way, automatic deduction or not you have agreed to pay. You do at least have the 21 days to cancel and have your deposit refunded. 

    I agree with your sentiments about changes to the club and personally I'm opting for other providers more than I used to previously. I'm in the silent majority who vote with their feet although probably not quite the majority at present. smile

    You don’t seem to be able to shrink the map . Personally I would like a slider, so I could have it whatever size I want. However, my main point was the size on different platforms A&J mentioned 60 % which would be a bit annoying. Clearly on the iPad it is barely half. Presumably the variation is down to inadequate testing on different systems.

    On the App it is just silly, as you can only use it in portrait not landscape. The default is a thin slit of a map, which is no use at all, or a full screen. Please can we have the App in Landscape. The C&CC works in both.

    and you can use the site search facility ( magnifying glass in the top right hand corner) that also works fine. Just search on the site name or part of it.

    Yes I know how to see reviews I'm just pointing out the anomaly on the new booking system. I think we've both directed people in the right direction and it's useful for others to read your comments. Thanks. smile

    Hmmm this is awful now.  I just wanted to see what is available so I can plan a tour myself working on where has availability but you want a start date and an end date.  The overseas and crossing could be kept separate as they used to be.

    I don’t mind paying. Deposit but this is just awful.  Like others we have only once mended a booking at short notice during the fuel problems last year when we didn’t want to risk going further North.

    Just go back to old system till you get it sorted.  Seems a shame to make problems for the majority just to be able to choose a pitch type. Perhaps find a better way.

    we loved the old late availability system and did most of our bookings this way often at short notice when others had cancelled.  Worked for us.

    You don’t need to put dates in. Just select your site and press search. When it comes up hit book now. Select your pitch type and you can scroll through the calendar to see availability.

    Unfortunately there no longer seems to be a mechanism for viewing availability at a group of sites simultaneously, as you could with the old system.

    I don’t actually know which site I want to visit and it was good to be able to see where had availability and plan it that way.

    Regarding CL searches I've just tried to see what's in my own county, Somerset. I used the filters and tried A-Z however it only came up with 20 CLs, stopping at E? Android phone.

    I’ve just noticed there does seem to be a link, but it is empty. If you touch on the stars below the price a dialogue box opens on the right saying there are currently no reviews. The same is true in the European booking system (and I know there are reviews for some I looked at) and they have had a lot longer to get it sorted.

    It does appear you need to have some idea where you want to go because "Late Availability" will not let you search just using a date window You have to use some kind of location e.g. a county with or without a date window.

    Yes the star grading bit is empty although it doesn't mean a lot even when working, the reviews give the reason behind the grading. Unless you know exactly which site you want all these extra diversions must be dragging on the allocated 20min booking time as people trawl through the pages.
