    You can say  whatever you wish, Trellis, it cannot hurt my simple feelings any more than the sight of appalling crikit already does,  innocent . Indeed it really tickled a certain aged sense of humour to see that despite the loss of the first two days, South Africa rejected the offer of adding a day to the end of this, the third Test.  Could have been an utter waste of time and effort to publicise as well as printing tickets and arranging Security etc, etc !!

    On another level, is it really so long ago that  after two short pitched deliveries in an over the Umpires would step in and issue a Warning to both Captain & the offending bowler undecided?

    P.S. / Edit

       I left it a while to react  BUT as I understand it " Umble Pie "  should be the main course not  a sweet or dessert !!laughing

    1. Well that was a comprehensive masterclass in playing T20 . Not sure the word humiliated quite covers it .😭.

    Brian, don't know if you listen to BBC Sounds, but there is a series on there called Sports Strangerst Crimes and one of them is about Alan Stanford -The Man Who Bought Cricket, in 7 episodes, which I think you would find very interesting.

    Excellent result for England given the not to impressive start to the tournament. Must be pleasing for the team to be the first to hold both the 50 and 20 World cup .🏏🏏.

    Rawalpindi Test that will go down in the history as one of England's finest test victories. Now that was some result!! England scored nearly 1000 runs and took 20 wickets in a pitch that was flatter than a pancake and slower than a snail, with a team containing a last minute replacement wicketkeeper, a fast bowler over 40 years of age, two part time spinners, and not one player who had ever played a test match in Pakistan before.

    Brian I know you like the odd cricket related song. Here is one I came across today which I think you will give you a chuckle or two.

    Tried to perk myself up by listening to 50 over humiliation in South Africa on Friday and today but, alas, it did me no good whatsoever yell.  So tomorrow, Monday, I am being taken down to the Surgery for a severe lecture from Senior Diabetes Sister and, should I not make honest and real promises to improve I will force myself to listen to the third and final match at, I believe Johanneburg on Wednesday as penance  cry.  Its worse than usual since its on Talksport 2  { BBC Has gone into hibernation down south alas }

    Thankfully the 2nd New Zealand  test finished before I emerged from my Dreamyland  and I had not got the result or my breakfast cereals would have been drenched in curdled milk, grrrr.  One run, I ask you,  more grrrrs !!

    Sadly, as most of you know, our CT friend Brian (ABM) innings has come to an end.

    I was shocked to learn of his passing and saddened that we'll no longer read his friendly, witty remarks. His love of English Cricket and T'Alex was legendary. Hopefully he'll be applauding a remarkable Ashes victory from the stands in Heaven.

    RIP CT friend. One of the Good guys.

    Very apt eulogy ExT. muscles will be & is missed already. It’s quite a shock when we realise a complete stranger(never met) is missed & has an impact on us. I certainly took some time to process it. Thanks for the reminder👍🏻
