New booking system with deposits

we'll never know as the club isn't telling. I would imagine the software (a pre loved item if I remember correctly from another forum/post) has been tested and isn't up to the job or the hardware isn't.

Again that was based on rumour and doesn’t alter the fact that the FB posts were unconfirmed and certainly the first post referred to by JwJ can be put in the box labelled "fake news". The second could be labelled "perhaps, maybe". All down to people posting on FB to make others believe they have inside knowledge. 🙁

I check CT occasionally and my interest in this thread regarding the new booking system is how the club will inform its members of the start date when it is able to introduce the system to us. E.g Via the magazine, email/text, Facebook, or on the website etc.
Rowena says “Please keep checking on the website for further updates” Therefore I am wondering if this is the official/only method of communication regarding the above mentioned info.
Rowena - If you are still continuing to monitor this thread perhaps you may be able to check with the correct dept in HO and post on here as to the method(s) to be used to notify members.
I did try to fill in a contact us form regarding this info but was unsuccessful.

One day, I shall log on to make a booking and I shall find the process somewhat different; probably, inter alia, I shall be asked for a deposit.
I shall barely turn a hair and I am not remotely concerned, or feel a need to know, when that time might be.

Indeed.
And for those that use affiliated sites, commercial sites or C&CC sites it may not register as anything unusual at all....
The best bit is going to be the ability to reserve a hard standing. Now that is going to have implications for the club, but again, if you are used to other sites, long overdue.....

Not sure of your point is here PD, if you read my post again I said the same as you:
'we'll never know as the club isn't telling. I would imagine the software (a pre loved item if I remember correctly from another forum/post) has been tested and isn't up to the job or the hardware isn't'
I didn't post as fact did I? I am allowed to imagine PD?

Let's just say it wasn't complimentary to CT posters.

Copied from live chat this morning where I asked when June 23 would be available to book (as want to book rest of half term!).
Thank you for getting in touch today, xxxxx. Our new improved booking experience will be ready to go live for members in the near future - this is likely to be in August. Shortly after the new systems go live the Club will be able to put pitches from June 2023 on sale. We have not yet been given a confirmed go live date for the new system, but we will communicate this to members when it has been decided. You can also keep an eye on our booking experience page HERE for more updates.

I also had a live chat this morning asking the same question, was informed that to give members the best possible booking experience the new system would be coming in the next few months. So not able to book half term next year until new system is working ok. I found the best possible booking experience, booked elsewhere, no stress 😎

You have to love all this excitement. First the deposits were expected sometime April 22. Then we had confirmation that staff were in training, and it might be 25th June. Now the official line is “sometime in the next few months”.
This Club does not do clarity and reassurance🤣 Camping’s very own HS2 project😉

I'm quite miffed that I can't book this summer's holiday till September, Apart from everything else and not being told officially it's only now that I can't I realise how much I enjoy booking. Yes strange I know!
But on the plus side it does take me back to the good old days, a mini four month booking day!

I think my miffery has affected my English, understandable of course

I think the whole thing, communication / delay in June onward bookings is very poor. It would seem that because they know they will be able to sell them to someone, they are not bothered about releasing the rest of half term several months after the start. Those who have no option but to go at that time now have to decide, do they hang on and hopefully get the rest of the days when released, or do they look for an alternative provider. If they hang on there is of course the risk that they won’t get what they want and by September other operators may be booked up for that week.

The phrase "dog's breakfast" springs to mind 🥺

Steve and TW I agree. Personally it won't affect me in any way as I'm flexible as to when I can go away. But for any one who needs to book with any certainly for next summer then they will rightly go elsewhere.
There should have been some sort of announcement and even worse there still isn't.

I can't even think about next year yet! Having said that you would have thought that they could just move the current deadline by a few days to accommodate those that are half booked?
The new system is a bit worrying as I checked one of my September bookings and discovered I had acquired two children over five and one under. They weren't on the original booking confirmation! Just wondered what would have happened had I had to amend under the new system? That would have meant a deposit through no fault of my own!

Haven’t we seen this sort of delay elsewhere in relation to the clubs website, including CT? Six weeks and counting to remove an offensive item is a sad joke, plus the inability to cure the server error problem. Then there's the Late Availability issue, CL searches and I’m sure there are other matters they’re also 'working hard' to sort out as well as the new booking system which seems to be going nowhere and causing folk to be inconvenienced.
CAMC, you really need to get your act together😥

You are too polite. It wasn’t the dogs breakfast that sprang to mind with me🤣🤣

"Finally?"
I've been saying it for years too but I don't keep on about it at every opportunity as to do so simply makes folk roll their eyes and think "Not again, give it a rest!". The tedium of repetition causes the message to lose impact.

It carries way more impact coming from someone who is fair & equitable in their comments too👍🏻
