Just looking in and I notice at the start of this thread that TDA had posted a similar photo. It's a nice Clematis that really rambles but we lost one previously so hope this survives, growing up a new pergola.

Brue, I have one similar(same family) Broughton Star, it’s not as delicate in colour as Marjorie it’s more blousey. Below are 2 of the Boulevard series-Daiyu(red) & Bernadine. What sets the Boulevard series out from others is the fact they flower top to toe, they literally flower from near soil level. They ain’t cheap but they do deliver👍🏻

It's raining this morning but I was out in the garden and was pleased to see these two, new to us clematis are finally taking off. The red one is Madame Julia Corevan and the white is Princess Kate.

Clematis ‘Daiyu’, a Raymond Edison Boulevard series offering. Beautiful & reliable doer. I have 6 from the series with 2 more coming on 2/6/23, they are big, bold & blousy that brightens up any garden.

    PS-whoops, I just noticed I already posted Daiyu🤣. On the upside-you can’t get too many Clematis👍🏻

Lovely Rocky. My Marjorie is doing well, and a Niobe, others a bit behind here. Mum has a lovely Nelly Moser out, it was Dad’s favourite, so it had to looked after.

I have it’s near identical twin-Lincoln Star👍🏻. As old as NM is it is such a doer, twin flowering to extend the season, prolific blooms & an eye catcher to boot TDA👍🏻. I have another 2 of the Boulevard series of Evison’s coming from Taylor’s of Doncaster. Expected in a few days.

PS-I have Marjorie over my front door twinned with a cotoneaster👍🏻

Taylor’s is close to us, but it’s not open to public. Years ago, when our town held a huge Horticultural and Horse Show, one of the best things was a huge pavilion full of local plant breeders and Taylor’s always had a stunning display. I really miss that show, totally different now.

My Marjorie’s we’re Aldi cheapo’s, but boy have they made beautiful plants😁 Bargain👍

I dropped on another bargain at RHS Harlow Carr a few weeks ago. A rather sad looking little Clematis Pixie, in the sale area. Normal price was £15, but I bought that sad little specimen, re potted it and cleaned it up, and delighted to say it’s now growing well with some nice new foliage. It might not flower this year, but for £3 I won’t complain🤣

Hh. It certainly could be as it's multi petalled. Princess Charlotte's mum is doing better here this year, Princess Kate, it's got much stronger.
