Britanny Recommendations
Hello all,
Thinking of planning our first trip to france pulling the van for next year, however looking at many of the sites featured on this page, most of the reviews are quite dated.
So basically, any recommendation for Britanny perhaps around the carnac area.
Must be dog friendly and walking distance to a small shop/bar/resturant/beach.
Many of the sitesI have looked at have a pool, however I would assume these sort of areas are off limits for the four legged. This also make me question, when the sites state they are dog friendly, how much of the site does this include ?
Thanks in advance
Blakey

Hi, there is a “dogs” specific thread at;
https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/club-together/discussions/the-social-room/your-pets/I-love-Dogs-me/
That may be a good place to pose your questions?

Camping Les Druides is nice enough, close to nice beach and walkable into Carnac. €20 (£17) with ASCI outside school summer holiday period. No idea about dogs, but french are fairly obsessed with them so wouldn’t expect a problem.

Hi Blakey, I”m not sure what you are hoping for when you ask for a site which is “dog friendly”. In my experience just about all the sites in Brittany will accept dogs - but make no special provision for them. They are neither dog friendly or non friendly. They just accept them. Please don’t expect sites to have dog walks as many Club sites do.
So that means dog exercise and toilet walking will need to be outside the site - and at sizeable resorts like Carnac or it’s neighbours that might well be walking on leads in suburban streets or along a formal paved promenade. And at a resort like that the beach will be out of bounds to dogs in the summer months.
I just wonder if your dogs might be happier where they are less confined. If you are not absolutely wedded to Carnac I will throw in a suggestion to look at sites in more rural areas - for example along the Crozon peninsula in Finistere. You could drive to the last little settlement at St Hernot and your dogs could run off lead and free through the sand dunes to the faraway beach at La Palue - without any restrictions at all. But there are many more options, and sites can be as formal or informal as you choose.
Enjoy your planning whatever you decide.

Another vote for le Druides. There's Le Dolmen across the road as well although not stopped there.
