Server Errors

At last! I have been trying for ages to log into this site, so that I can post something but every time I click the "Log In" button - nothing happens. I've never known another site have so much down-time for 'maintenance" and when it comes back, it's usually worse than before the 'maintenance' was done!
I can think of a few 'amateur' websites provided by CLs etc with all singing and dancing on-line booking, interactive maps, guides etc etc which are an absolute joy to use. Why an earth can't an organisation the size of this Club - with all the resources it has to call upon - do better than it is. It really is disgraceful in this day and age.

I shall certainly look out for the ‘bam-cell.nr-data.net‘ on my laptop as I frequently get ‘waiting for’ messages. From what I've read on line it appears to be an information gathering 'tool' . CT is very slow for me just now.
Have to agree it would be good to have some info from CAMC’s IT team as to why CT is so slow and maybe clarify if bam-cell.nr-data.net is part of the running of the CAMC site.

Don’t think it is a virus as such, more an information gathering tool. Given that the adverts only appear on the forum page, and not elsewhere on the website, and that it’s the forum that is so very very slow, I suspect whatever is going on is linked.

(As I say, I haven’t looked at any reviews today, so not sure how slow things are on this section of the website.)
I've seen one or two but don't know how much treacle they had to wade through to get them posted.
As I said in a previous post I did actually come on to the website to look at booking sites and look at reviews for CLs but couldn't get on. The forum can wait, it's not priority but the nuts and bolts of the business should operate better than this. Are we to start ringing sites direct to book or the club themselves?
Handing the problem to a Third Party was always going to look bad when things don't get fixed.

I think it would be useful to remove the adverts from the forum (Volvo and Club Shop currently) as they always seem last to load and it could be the loading mechanism that is causing the problem for the forum?
But another issue is linking back to "Discussions" from either a thread or the Story Section or just trying to get the Discussion page to open. Once in its not so bad, although still not perfect.

This is a big part of the problem, no feedback, no information on what is happening, or acknowledgement that feedback has been taken on board and we do/do not know the answer to it. It seems the 'CM' starts a thread to appease members, then job done and disappears.
When 'Justin' (Service Desk Manager at CAMC) last posted about 18 months ago he kindly kept us up to date with information and steps being taken to try and sort the mess. Unfortunately we heard no more from him for whatever reason, and the problems then are exactly the same problems today.

Ro is the messenger, not the IT Manager. It’s an IT issue I think. If Ro is passing on the messages (no reason to doubt it) and those that can do something to the technology are not listening, then no doubt Ro will be as frustrated as Members.

Similar. Logged in just now, typed a post, pressed reply, greyed out. Then nothing. Copied text - I've learnt the hard way! Refreshed the page not logged in..... logged in again pasted text pressed reply and was stunned by the speed it went and appeared! Reckon the breeze got behind it 😉
Edit Refreshing the page appears no action for what seems like an age! It's like trying to cycle against the gusts today!

I had 5 attempts to log in this morning. I think the situation is getting worse if that is possible. Yet still no acknowledgment of the ongoing problem or what is being done to resolve it. If this is how the club cares for it's members we are in a sad state.

I actually think the situation has improved - slightly, today. I noticed that the site was down for maintenance, yet again this morning and since then, log in has been almost immediate and clicking on Discussions has opened the page quicker than before (but still slow).

I agree, Richard, but there’s room of improvement.

You could loose the will to live waiting for this site to respond, , or i could just chill

Nice photo, but it took me ages before to get onto the site again.

Well this site is SO rude! I managed to get on and log in surprisingly quickly. In the middle of typing a reply on a thread, suddenly page disappears and up comes the server error. That's a new one!
Refresh a different tab all comes up fine, I'm logged in - attempt to like a post, takes me to the log in page. Log in get the wrong way signs posts! Hit the back button a couple of times to find I'm still logged in. Bizarre.
I do hope some is monitoring this thread and comments are being noted and some action taken but I'm not holding my breath! It's kind of Rowena to flag it up with IT but it never seems to get another further......
I've not used the main website but if it's anything like the forum I'd book elsewhere. I feel really sorry for CL's who only have the club as their window on the world!
EDIT the post I was writing on cooing with a hip replacement is on the page now I can get back on it......

I've almost given up.......
An hour ago to refresh an open tab is taking in excess of 2 minutes.!
Popped back whilst eating lunch and stunned, in relative terms!, at the speed now. No rhyme or reason from my end, same equipment etc....

It’s an absolute shambles on here today. And the actual main website is very slow as well. Weather is no excuse, everything else I am browsing is loading fine. Club should be ashamed of this situation. Ages to load, every click to get anywhere is time wasted, and then finally, it won’t load replies!

I too have been getting a series of server error messages throughout the evening.
