Those of us who have taken the vaccines and boosters when advised are more likely to be aware of the limitations. More likely to act more sensibly and take precautions. Probably have a duty of care to the wider population. We also test regularly particularly if we are going to populated venues, ie hospital appointments or shopping. Its called being sensible.

Testing was not mentioned in the scenario wink, but it's good to hear that you test.

Don't come to Tunbridge Wells at present - we are third highest area, for Covid,  in south east.- Kent.

I have now gone back into lockdown (I tested negative yesterday) and as on previous occasions hope that my extended family are safe.

Why cannot other people see this Omicron variant coming and likewise lockdown instead of going to parties, pubs, gigs in the park and many other crowded public places?

My BIL has had a letter from his GP practice to say he will be invited to attend for a 4th jab, another booster, as he has a compromised Immune system following treatment for cancer.

Has anyone else heard of this, goodness knows how the NHS are going to cope with all these jabbing sessions.

That's us arrived back from Lanzarote, the plane was only half full so we were encouraged to spread ourselves out. It was full going out there 3 weeks ago.

Covid tests laying on the doormat when we opened the front door. Will do them in the morning then get them in the post. Hopefully hear something back after the weekend.

The immunocompromised are being offered four jabs especially if the first two were AZ.  The norm seems to be 2 x AZ 1 x Pfizer and 1 x 0.5 dose of Moderna.   I hope he stays safe.

Just for your info Tammygirl.  We've just landed back in the UK and our test kits were at home waiting for us.  We landed back on the 13th (Day Zero) and did our tests on the 14th.  Email received this morning to log in to see results -  negative - thank goodness.

Having been texted by Track & Trace on Tuesday, I'm isolated until next Tuesday unless a clear daily LFT. First test was clear but, because of the shortage, I've not done another until I need to go out. Cupboards are a bit bare so I'll be tickling my tonsils later before driving to Sainsburys to collect OH, who is taking the bus to do the shopping. That minimalizes contact just to be on the safe side.

Thanks Jill that's encouraging, we landed last night doing tests this morning then will get back in the post box. Only issue we have is OHs box didn't contain the security label that you secure the box with. Can't get a hold of them on the phone just keep getting ring this press that. Have sent an email to inform them, will have to seal it another way and write on box why.

Good to hear you got back OK and tests were negative.

I had a look yesterday at Omicron numbers in the UK and there are hotspots, as before and slower build ups in other areas.

Dont follow the logic of CY. Are masks that foolproof.

Indeed. London is bug central once again at the moment. We are actually enjoying lower rates at the moment, one of the upsides of being in an area overlooked by most tourists, so it’s only the pesky locals driving things here mainly. It won’t last though, I drove through one of our nicest areas for eateries, decent pubs and cafes last night. All rammed to the hilt, inside and out.
I was off for a swim, had the whole pool to myself, so a quick in and out, masked when not swimming. It is attached to a lovely hotel, so horrified to see car park chock full, but they certainly weren’t in the fitness centre suite. Either lots of guests, or one very big party. Thankfully access to gym/pool is strictly controlled. Not sure how long I will keep going, as long as I feel safe.

We both did tests  and are fit for human consumption. I was the only one who had a direct contact with a Covid positive. My OH is technically a "contact of a contact". Follow that logic and everyone should be testing all the time.

Not the first time I've heard that from folk, we expect to hear results by Monday if nothing then we will do LFTs and carry on with life.

Not prepared to sit around waiting for ever, at some point we have to go shopping before Christmas, the sooner the better.

Just out of interest Mrs C is travelling back from Bradford as daughter has her new job up here from January (and will be living with us again - what that in the parenting contract anywhere? surprised) and couldn't get parked at Wetherby Services. She said it was busier than in August. Quite a good few caravans and MHs parked up in their area.

The news from Holland is that they will go into lockdown from tomorrow, until the 14th of January, LINK

They already had a lot of restrictions in place, such as bars and restaurants closing at 5pm, but have now gone much further.

Wonder what will happen in the rest of Europe, and indeed, the Uk.

If we can get enough jabs into arms quickly enough there is a very good chance that we will not need another strict lockdown but maximum speed really is required.

If London is now struggling, as they did before, this might indicate how difficult it will be as infections increase.

Text from Covid test company they have received my test and its being processed, I should have my result soon smile

OH didn't get a message, so tracked his test down through the courier, its still in Edinburgh, not delivered yet to test company. Really annoying as they were both posted at the same time on a 24 hr service.

DD, Wee kranky is never happy it's her default setting😁

Just heard that the senior medic in our family has Covid and the team she works with are now all at home due to positive tests and contacts. They are not allowed to work with their seriously vulnerable patients. This has reduced the working capacity to 30%. If this is mirrored in other hospitals and essential work places I can see why we might see more stringent measures on the way. frown
