Thanks David, not long made our booking for next year using a 'friends' code.

I'll have a look at the new deal, wasn't sure about it previously as we don't always cross that way which didn't make it cost effective.

Hi David, Like Tammy CV was not cost effective due to the savings we got via the club on BF crossings to Roscoff.

Have recently looked and then again and following your OP. It may be that CV will now be cost effective as it gives a saving and, at the moment, the club does not however, one thing that I am wary of is the  phrase "up to" when it states the level of discount.

I can calculate the savings using the maximum discount but, until I am a member wont know wheat the actual saving will be.

At the moment we are still considering what our 2022 trip will look like but a Santander return is an option so CV would likely be a god bet then.

Hi Euror, So decided to look into this a bit more, prompted by your post, and found the CV terms & conditions page.

Sadly this, to my reading of it, seems to say that the maximum discounts end on 7th April 2022, before my intended crossing, and drops to just 10%.

Just shows the need to check things as, never being that interested, had only recalled the headline 35% figure.

Hi David I'm a bit confused at the price you quoted for joining and membership. According to the BF site for Spain it states £90 for Registration and £90 annual fee. Is there another fee that I cannot see. France is £60 + £60 or are these the 'New' fees.

Thanks David, its been awhile since I looked at it so couldn't remember what the previous charges were.

Will have to spend some time working out if it will be worth it or not, I know last time I did it we decided against it, as we want to spend  some time in the Spring each year, doing Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Italy and possibly Croatia.

Although that will have to wait now until 2023, as we are going to be travelling with friends next Spring. They have not taken their MH to abroad yet so we've agreed to travel together until they are comfortable with things.

Hi David, As you say that woud make more economic sense.

Having convinced myself that the Spain routes would be cost effective, and a bit of a treat, it was disappointing to realise that the discounts are tiered and, as you say, no better that asking someone for use of their CV.

So just to get my head around this, if you have a mate with Club Voyager membership and you plan to go to France once or twice a year it is not worth joining.

If you are going to do the long haul to Spain then you may as well use the C&MC or try and use your mates membership.

    Have I got this correct?

    Colin

Having looked at the routes back from Spain at the end of Nov/Dec for this year (can't check next year yet) the timings back into the UK are not great for getting onto a site, the best route would be into Plymouth rather than Portsmouth.

We were thinking of going out via France at the end of September then come back from Spain end of Nov beg of Dec. Because I can't check for then I looked for this year but they are not sailing into Plymouth just now,  so don't know if its just this year or is that norm. Seems a very restricted service some of the return crossing are full for this year.
