Flu jabs

Yesterday we had both the booster, at the St Clare's Clinic in Penzance, and our flu jab in the Day Lewis pharmacy next door, one in each arm.
We had booked our booster using the NHS number supplied on our text from NHSvaccine on 29th Sept, (OH's text came on 21st). I then phoned the pharmacy and they had appointments for the same day as the booster so arranged to get them one after the other. Only reactions so far are sore upper arms at the sites of the injections.

Agree there, LLM. We had our initial vaccinations about a week apart and the booster invitations with a similar gap. We've had texts, emails and even a phone call from our GP surgery reminding us to book a flu jab and they have also been operating walk-in sessions too. Certainly can't complain about the quality of contact or booking ability from either our GPs or the NHSvaccination service.

Yes, they may well have those records, but the surgery staff were concerned that folk may turn up for their appointments even if it's less than 6 months since their second main jab, and what their reaction would be if turned away at the time. (These were texts sent out from the local PCN, not NHS directly) "It's a mess" was their description, not mine.

I received a letter today with an appointment for next week to get both flu and Covid booster at the same time.
Our GPs are not doing them at the surgery this year, instead we older people are being sent to our local town hall, which was where I went for both my Covid ones, and where OH and I went for the flu ones last year.No appointment for OH as yet as her 6 months is not up till the 23rd.

We both had flu jabs booked for last Saturday - postponed a couple of days before - no vaccine! Re booked for a couple of weeks time. Much later than normal, and it takes a couple of weeks to develop immunity.
Covid booster not due until next month - not heard yet. I believe they are using pfizer for booster, which I will need to chase up because of a wasp venom allergy. I was given AZ automatically originally but told that they would not have given me pfizer.

hja, we both received pfizer for our booster, so hope you can sort out an alternative.0

Had our Pfizer booster on Sunday. Flu jabs cancelled a couple of weeks ago. Waiting for a further text when supplies appear.

Not only for the vaccinations, LLM, When I went in for my eye tests at SS on Wednesday the Optician & I had a chat about the up-dated list of meds that I take -- she did not ask me ~ she told me ( She's got me on a list, she's got me on a list and none of them will be missed )
Flu jabs a week today at local Farmer C !!

I recieved a blue envelope letter from NHS Scotland with an invitation for both flu and covid boosters at same time, and exactly on the first date possible under the 6-month rule.

I have had an absolutely stinking cold for the past week or so.
I just wish they had a preventative jab for that!
The flu jab, I assume, was the correct one for this year as apposed to previous years when they got the strain wrong.
Oh well - back to bed with the bottle of drambuie.
