Pet Passports

If you wish to take your pets to Europe, it can be costly for the Animal Health Certificate, following the demise of the Pet Passport Scheme. Pets can freely enter UK from Europe. There is a petition chang.org/t/qLLtzFz7. Please sign it if you want the UK Government to negotiate the reinstatement of the Pet Passport Scheme.

Fishermen, farmers and cheese makers across the UK are not having much success in getting the EU to change its rules. They are the ones requiring an Animal Health Certificate for visitors from outside the area. I don’t hold out much hope of change for UK dog owners.

I have made your link live, thanks for reposting.

Regretfully I have to agree with what ET has said the UK Government has shown little interest in addressing these issues that have caused inconvenience to many UK citizens as a result of us leaving the EU. It is within their gift to change things but I wouldn't count on anything happening anytime soon. Whatever the pros and cons of being in the EU our leaving does seem to have impacted on the Caravan/Motorhome community to a greater extent than the average holiday maker what with Pet Passports, stays limited to 90 days in 180, and not being able to take certain provisions into the EU from the UK. Most of these other things have also been subject to unsuccessful petitions sadly.

We are taking our Staffie for her annual jabs including the Rabies one at the end of May.She has 12 years of Rabies stamps in her PPs so far.I shall report back on what our vet has to say.We are not intending travelling abroad until 2022 but we have always kept her Rabies vaccination status fully up to date since she was but a pup.If I have to pay for an AHC no problem,I do not really understand why folks are getting so hot under the collar about it all.It is what it is- we shall cough up and adapt as we have had to do in many aspects of life.Having survived two cancer ops and Chemo in 2020 little bothers me these days-I woke up -bonus!
