How's your footy team doing?

A few lines from the email received from Man City :
“ However, in making that choice we failed to remind ourselves of the unbreakable link between the passion of our fans and the right to have the opportunity to earn success. It is a truth that is fundamental to the DNA of Manchester City and the Board deeply regrets taking a decision that lost sight of the historic values of the Club. We made a mistake and we sincerely apologise to our fans for the disappointment, frustration and anguish caused by the last 72 hours.”
What an absolute shambles 😱

Town go two down early doors then get one back just before half-time and I think “happens we can get something here”.Three goals in six minutes early in the second half puts the kibosh on that. Fortunately other results go our way and we’re not down yet.
I see that Perez fella is saying the ESL isn’t dead yet and the greedy six can’t leave, something about binding contracts.

I've been hesitating posting on here about Hull City's excellent run of late - because they always seem to fail at the last hurdle - but now they've done it and guaranteed promotion back into the Championship at their first attempt after a nail-biting win over Lincoln.
Although he's had a lot of stick during the season, McCann has delivered - well done Tigers

Shush now, R & R , There be a couple of footy fans on 'ere wot am none too chuffed at present ( !! ) and your gloating might just ruin their Sunday pre-lunch drinkies . Thinking of that, I see Crewe Alex the Mighty, are due to visit and ruin some Bristolian team's next Saturday evening celebrations , Now that might cause some flutterings in a certain Roving Dovecote down that way

ABM - I wasn’t gloating - I’ve learned too many times with Hull City, that’s a very silly thing to do. More a sense of relief that this time, they haven’t let us down 😂

Brian - this year we are mostly not doing celebrations! - do you think your lads might just be kind enough to let one of our strikers actually score a goal (something they haven't managed to do since Joey took over the reins. )
Fair's fair, after all they'll probably get half a dozen of their own!

You would have a fair to Middleport chance, as the clay-eads say, should you get into our penalty area, of getting a spot kick but young Keeper is a dab hand at saving them so no guarantees Mr M !! The other way is to keep on going well into 'over-time' as on Saturday the equaliser came in 90+7 minutes !!

Me too Brian. I was bemoaning the fact that Town lulled me into a senses of false security only to let me down with a bump.
Commiserations to Moulsey The Gas having been relegated early
Town fans forum are calling for the sacking of the manager, the director of football and even the mascot 😂

We’re up against an old manager of the club this afternoon. Mark Robins who ‘it’s said once saved Alex Ferguson’s job. He left Town in strange circumstances. By Town played Bournemouth first match of the season at home and got stuffed 4-0 and Robins upped sticks and walked out!
Hope he doesn’t come back to haunt us today

May I be permitted a little gloat now, Brian? After all, it's 55 years since City last won a league title

Not too sure if we are permitted to watch Ladies / Women sport these days, Pliers ! Was watching England v France at Rugby Union -- t'was very enjoyable . That is until the power failed & the floodlights went out.
Now I'm left wondering if that caused some continental fishermen and/or politicians to get strange ideas about fair play

Disaster day in South Yorkshire. Sheffield United were already relegated from PL into Championship, and after this afternoon’s games, both Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham United drop into League One.😢
On the plus side though my Dad’s favourite team, Leeds United have survived their first PL season👍

Sorry Brian I’ve only just read this. You are, of course, grammatically correct but it’s not Town’s style to sign new good players.
The current policy seems to be to sign unproven youngsters “ for the future” or oldish out of contract players a bit past their prime. We live in hope to be proved wrong but Town supporters have become battle hardened realists these past three seasonsAnyhoo the retained list was published this week and at least they’ve got rid of a few highly paid wasters which should free up some brass to maybe pay for a couple of new good players. We live in hope but as an old fella who sits near us is wont to say “ it’s the hope that kills you”
