No text for us JVB but an email about our up and coming booking. It’s much less specific about the facilities. However, does mention if you can’t check in with the app, you will be provided with a log sheet to complete. I think that’s new for this year.
Toilet and shower facilities
We would encourage you to use your own onboard facilities wherever possible. Toilet and shower facilities on campsites which have them will be operating according to the latest country specific Government guidance (this does mean they could be closed throughout your stay), please see our Latest Campsite Updates page to check before you arrive.
Test and Trace
Due to Government requirements, all our Club campsites in England and Wales will require all members and guests over the age of 16 to provide Test and Trace (or UK country variants) information. If you already have the NHS Covid-19 app, you will be asked to use this on arrival at the campsite for all party members over the age of 16. If you do not have the app, you will be provided with a log sheet to complete. For more information on the Test and Trace requirements please see our Coronavirus FAQs.0 -
I’ve heard that their will be two queues on Sites, bit like nothing to declare, and need to declare at airports.
Nothing will be the fast through line, pay remotely, zap the QR code, onto your pitch. Happy bunnies😁
Need to declare, will be a whole lot slower....... fill in the form by hand, fumble for any cash as not too sure about card payments, dither over which pitch will be the best, mutter about ineptitude of Club not letting one know that facility blocks are closed, keep the Wardens in debate around why no discount for not having facilities, requests for who to contact about this ‘situation’ at HQ, moan about H&S gone mad because second hand book sales in reception have ceased, consultation around possible cessation of being able to order a morning paper, and what ingredients are in the Club provided sanitising liquid in case of allergy.........😇
😁🤪😁

Just received an email from the club informing that in England from 12th April shared washing and toilet facilities , not showers, are able to be open. Certain sites may not be able to open facilities due to logistics. So half way there. Looking forward to our first trip out this year to Cirencester next Monday.

The web site is scheduled for downtime over the weekend, no doubt to install the new availability section and perhaps a few more booking tweeks?. I guess a list of open facilities is therefore unlikely to be available until next week sometime.

Have had a pitch booked for weeks hoping for our government to allow the sites to have toilets open. I have already had to shorten the proposed break as I was booked from the 4th April originally. Yesterday I had a call from the warden at the site just checking whether I knew the facilities were closed (which I did). We have no onboard facilities, although we do have equipment for outside. Wife not keen to use the porta potti for all her needs, outside (in a tent of course!), so decided while I was in conversation with the warden to cancel the booking. I have since made a couple of appointments for next week and then today I have an email to say the toilets will now be available!
Murphy's law strikes again!
Grrrr.

Evening
I think everyone's working late today. Just had a stack of emails to digest with the promise of more this evening. I think it's planned to update the website this weekend.
There's quite a bit of plumbing to do for some sites as the water in the showers will have to be isolated to prevent the opportunist! I'm off to our neighboring site tomorrow to lend a hand

I've just checked the C&CC website and they’ve not changed their statement as yet. It still says facility blocks will remain closed.

To enable shared facilities on sites that also have showers, as stated in the latest update, will only be possible as in the past IF showers can be completely isolated ,hence also in the clubs statement, to check the information on which sites the showers that can be isolated and also others that will not impede social distancing in other parts of the facilities

And me. Why risk it?

Evidence? Depends on whom you share with!

Does anyone know where the Club got their info on the regulations quoted 8th April which has allowed them to open facilities excluding showers?
im asking for a colleague who runs an independent site and desperately wanted to open his toilet block up but thinks he cannot.
Any info appreciated0 -
It’s good to know that perhaps a few more folks can get away a bit earlier now, their choice as to whether or not to use facilities available. For what it’s worth, I still think the Club was correct in following the original guidance, with an update from the Government clarifying things a bit more on the 8th.
I cannot believe it was JV’s conversation with whatever incarnation his local chum is currently occupying that generated this, much more likely the collective request from various camping organisations and bodies out there, been happening since mid February.
Makes no odds to us, our personal risk assessment has been carried out, and we won’t be going anywhere near facilities. Our water tank will be full, so that means for five days, possibly just the one fill up at fresh water tap, and we have all safety stuff for loo empty. We will be off site anyway between hours of 10am and dusk, so other folks can get on with whatever floats their particular boat.
This is a test run on a Club Site for us, got two more booked, one already swopped to a CL. If we don’t feel happy around lots of other folks, then we shall swop the other bookings to CLs as well. 🤔2 -
It was one of the Gov directives issued, I think, in May 2020 and updated on 8 April. Sorry, I can't find it now.
If your friend belongs to the site owners association, they'll know.

I have just been to where we store our c/van to bring battery home for charging before our first outing
Drove round the touring site on the way out ,only four? empty hardstand pitches empty and toilets now open with wash cubicles out of bounds and notice advising shower water isolated and all shower heads removed
