That petition closes on 21st September, won’t get any attention whatsoever until that date, even if it gets to a thousand signatories. On the plus side, it might prove useful coming out of lockdown four, by my estimation..........👍

We stayed at Bath Marina site October half term 2020, probably the most recent of posters.

Nothing to worry about with the facilities, COVID secure, cleaned regularly, one in one out system.

It was full being half term.

Fee wise, the same as Baltic Wharf for the same period.

We stayed there in 2016 and I tend to agree with WTG that it is location site (easy access to the P&R for Bath) rather than a destination. Most of the pitches are on concrete slabs which is fine by me. What I said in my review here  http://www.davidklyne.co.uk/bath_marina_and_caravan_park.html

about the toilet blocks was "There are two toilet blocks on the site. They are functional rather than luxurious, lighting at night is by timer switch." I have to temper that comment with the fact that we tend not to use toilet blocks, preferring our own facilities so I may have been more critical had we used them. Some may be perfectly happy with the toilet blocks but they are way removed in quality from the average CMC site.

I’ve just realised we once stayed at the Bath Site. Back in the mid 1980’s. Can’t recall it much, other than individual hedged pitch. Probably the one night....

Did not look at Ukcampsite, Trip Advisor, normally i dont pay heed to online re views, but i think the first 2 or 3 pages of Trip Advisor had recent adverse comments re the facilities, which again in normal circumstances we would overlook, but we are living under a different set of rules just now where caution is paramount, and when people talk about porta cabins for facilities i automatically become suspicious. undecided

I trust you mean possibly! It was made absolutely clear that it was subject to the data going the right way regarding 17 May.

Interesting that gyms to include my local Nuffield gym are able to open their showers and toilets on 12 April ...but campsites aren’t opening their toilet facilities. Public loos where I live and motorway service loos have been open for ages..

CAMC is keeping facilities closed thus benefiting from reduction in variable cost base, whilst simultaneously maintaining their full net price points and membership fees......

Sounds like there might be some enforced exercise on Sites for a few weeks. Surprising how carting water and waste water around helps a bit with fitness. I expect to see little towing brackets on mobility scooters, recall one chap we used to see each year on a CL used to do this with his wife’s scooter. She didn’t have yell at him though if he forgot to charge it up for her. But if it helps, why not😁

So would you would pay even higher prices for the clubs to emplay more staff single couple sites included, to enable facilitie blocks to have the intensive cleaning that is supposed to be carried out  now when sites are open 24/7  to keep members safe? are gyms /public toilets  open those hours? service areas, i would not use their showers in normal times

Now that we know it's definitely allowed, we'll be heading down to our static van next Monday. Just had a look at the website and it's made absolutely clear that, although tourers will be accepted on site, the facilities block will not be opened until May 17th at the earliest. Tourers must be self sufficient.

Which got me thinking - apart from Bath Marina (?) can anyone name any other sites that intend to open their facilities next week? undecided

Thankyou, David, but that is so obvious.

However, this isn't about me, it's about responding to JulieJ or did you miss that?

Responding to Moulesy’s post.......Yes, I can, and it’s one I know well, and.....it doesn’t have the best facilities to start with. Fakenham Racecourse, so it’s a Club AS. Nice Site, but you queue to use loos and showers in normal times, so best practice good bladder control if they have any kind of limit on numbers going in and out of block. (Personally, I think they have misinterpreted the guidance🤷‍♀️)

Its taken me a year to see how this Govt legislates for the pandemic. First few months were very confusing, half hearted attempts at controlling things. Didn’t work well at all. But since Christmas, and the dreadful hospitalisation and death rates, it’s been a lot better. The guidance I think now is aimed more at those who are likely to push the boundaries, try to get away with as much as they can, don’t perhaps have the foresight to look ahead and see the longer term implications for their personal actions. So there are a few disgruntled individuals out there, but on the whole, most sensible folks are able to see past their own requirements, and take a more community minded, general population good look at things. We have a long way to go yet, but if the majority of stuff opens gradually, it might just pay off for everyone🤞😁

Fakenham is a cracking bit of contradictory interpretation upon reading its current guidance. It’s deemed safe enough to use a toilet cubicle or a shower cubicle (cleaning down surfaces with the equipment (?) provided after each use. Like that is really going to happen😉) But washing pots is only allowed in the safety of your own unit!😂 Bonkers!
