So I have just seen that the government reviewd its requirement 2 days ago and sites can now open facilities si presumably it's the club that are keeping them closed
Also the club has misinterpreted the regulations Toilets can be open providing they are individual cabinets therefore all that cant be open are showers and urinals

Despite the endless debating here, the club has not backtracked on its original and, in my opinion, safe decision not to open facility blocks. Perhaps they’re mindful of the tremendous outcry there would be if they did open them and something went wrong resulting in people on site contracting covid.
Damned if they do and damned if they don’t is the phrase that springs to mind.

Jack, I think you are totally misunderstanding the phrase "individual cabinets" as I am sure none of us has ever been in a communal toilet. Individual cabinets to me would be the type of separate rooms accessed by an individual external door as frequently seen at public conveniences
In a CAMC block there is no difference in separation whether it is a toilet, shower or private washing cubicle.

I am booked into a CL from 6th to 10th May. It has two toilets and two showers. Each is housed in it's own individual and free standing mini container about 1.5 x 0.9m with an entrance/exit directly to the outside.
I would say these meet the criteria. The site owners also believe this is the case and have expressed there intention to open them.

PD, why the mystery over the two screen shots you have posted? Do we get to know which site you are highlighting or not? Could be other factors affecting the bookings, not just the fact that it doesn’t have the loos open, maybe it’s predominantly grass pitches for example🤷♀️

You do know the pandemic is still going on and will still be going on then?
Would you expect, in these unprecedented times, sites to be full? There are a number of different reasons, probably all Covid related, why people aren't booking up or going away.
What are you trying to prove with you looking are bookings like this?

If anyone from the club wants to read the BHPA opening conditions for 12th April, go to Section2 Paragraph 56, which clearly states that facilities for washing and toilets can be open subject to the same restrictions we had after lockdown last year
WHY DON'T THE CLUB WANT TO DO THIS FOR ITS MEMBERS

Don't forget my comment was referring to a CL, probably sub £20 not a £30 per night Club site. As a non facility user I would willingly volunteer not to have a bathroom.
I would have no wish to deprive a 5 van site of any income as I hope than the current ones survive. If the CL was lost it would not be replaced whereas if the Club ceased to exist I'm sure many other providers would fill the void.

Thanks but I see no point in reading it. Whether I would subsequently agree with you or not, the club has made its decision and you are not addressing (shouting at?) the decision makers.
Take it up with the club if you feel strongly but you are very unlikely to achieve anything by posting here.

There seems to be a suggestion that the Club have not read the rules. I am sure they have done nothing else since it was announced that campsites could reopen on 12th April. I am also sure that behind the scenes they have asked questions of Government. At the end of the day they have concluded, as has the C&CC and many other independent campsites, that under the rules they can't open facilities. I really do think people have to accept this fact and if they find this unacceptable they really need to stay at home until facilities blocks are allowed to open.

Absolutely true, David! In fact nothing whatsoever has changed regarding facilities on venues providing overnight accommodation since the roadmap was first announced. Nor in my opinion should it, it's about protecting both 'us' and the later road map out!

The Club has made its decision (based as far as I am concerned on a positive interpretation of the latest from HMG advisors) and I for one think it is a good decision. I am very sorry for those who cannot get away as quickly as they wished, but the last thing this country needs again is a stop, start stuttering to the holiday season.
It’s a larger issue at stake than an individual’s toileting and showering needs, too many businesses, livelihoods and jobs rely on this going as well as possible, for as long as possible this time around. Everyone has made sacrifices, put up with missed opportunities, countless disappointments, made changes to a lot of everyday life, and I doubt most folks would be happy at having to go through yet another set of very severe restrictions.
No matter how much folks want to wriggle and twist each interpretation of any guidance or rules that are given, the underlying principle is to keep the majority safe. Anything less is to allow a degree of self interest to creep in, and too many in this country have paid the ultimate price already. I for one am thankful to still be here, to still have all my loved ones, and to even think about going away on holiday in one form or another. 👍🙂9 -
Agreed TDA but in all reality and truth the club had the decission made for them weeks ago with the road map! No amount of sought clarification has changed this.
And let’s not forget that that date of May 17 for the opening of facilities on places of overnight occupancy is not a given. It is very much subject to that critical Covid data going the right way. It would be stupidity itself to throw away all the sacrifices we have made at this fragile and critical stage of recovery.

Agree wholeheartedly Micky.👍 The Club knows it’s core membership loves the facility blocks, and many are reliant upon them in terms of it making a good deal of difference to a holiday being as required, rather than a compromise, so has perhaps (not alone) dithered over a decision made for it weeks ago, allowing a hefty dose of wishful thinking to prevail. Those with the blinkers off booked Club Sites months ago on the understanding that it would be using our own facilities.
Doesn't make it any less disappointing for those who have to (rather than like to) use Site facilities. Just a bit longer to wait.

The ref to "my friend" as some like to call our MP when trying to score points about information i can obtain, is part of the reply i recieved from him when some were trying to advise?the situation had changed? and as he wrote it has not as far as shared fecilitiies are concerned
But by some posts are still it seems reading into the road out of the lockdown only the bits that they want to read to try to think it has altered instead of all the paragraphs

JV, one can only read on and wonder at your faith in “your friend”. 😉😂

It’s like owning a dog AD. Some people don’t own one, have no intention of owning one, but have a perfect right to comment, and contribute to a discussion. You’d agree possibly?😉
Just for clarification, if facilities are available on a Site, be it Club, CL or private, we do occasionally use said facilities in normal times. But we equally compromise (as we can) during less than normal times.😁

Not let me down with correct info yet and he is a cabinet member ,it was the same when this lockdown first started ,when some were questioning dog walking ,it was correct although some as now ,,tried to put their own ideas as what they Wanted to believe
