When we moved into our new  requisitioned house in surrey after i think our house in Kensington was doodle bugged (we were in Weston Super Mare as evacuees) Dad was a Police man based at Gloucester Road police station

      I digress

I remember milk was from one of the churns that the milkman had in his horsedrawn van and the baker came to the door with a big basket with bread one side and buns and cakes the other side ,i think we needed ration coupons for it all?
